Second damascus is forged with different carbon steels and pressed into a solid billet then folded over and over again. It’s then drawn out and etched leaving the mosaic and wave patterns that damascus is known for.
That's not damascus. Damascus implies folding layers over each other to create patterns, which actually requires skill. Throwing some pallets into another metal is not damascus, so don't call it damascus.
What you have explained isn't even actually Damascus steel. You've only explained folded patterned Steel which isn't the same as Damascus. Folded patterned steel and Damascus steel both have layered designs but differ in process. Folded steel, like in Japanese katanas, is made by repeatedly folding the steel to refine it, creating a visible layered pattern. True Damascus, or Wootz steel, originated in the Middle East and has natural “water-like” patterns from its unique carbon composition, giving it exceptional strength and sharpness. Modern "Damascus" usually mimics this look with pattern-welding but lacks the original’s unique properties. Also I can almost guarantee that you've never even touched a forge or done any blacksmithing and are simply just an armchair blacksmith pretending they know more than they actually do because you watched a couple UA-cam videos.
Perhaps a good silicone bronze (which is hard enough to hold a good edge) with a melting point of about 1800° F you would still have the steel bearings. Remember that steel replaced bronze not because it was better but because it was cheaper. It's only been the past few hundred years that it was consistently better than bronze alloys.
