I sing this with my husband playing classical guitar. He studied under Christoffer Parkening. So I was inspired to learn the Bach version ( sung by Kathleen Battle). Carol Kia Sands helped me immensely to sing this properly. I enjoy your version. I love the Bach version better than the Schubert. Thanks for sharing your voice ! Serh hübsch

I have to sing songs like this loud in order to sing high....what can i do to sing softer??? Beautiful!!!!!!!
Hum a few semitones below your target. Hunt around looking for different timbre until you can feel your lips vibrate - you're on the money there! Remember the feeling, the position, the pressure in you diaphram - reduce the airflow so hum ever softer but maintain the feeling in your lips until the note is practically inaudible - open your mouth slowly until you find the sound you want. Relax every single muscle in your face , ams, neck that s not contributing, Do that 5 mins a day for a month until you can find the spot first time every time, without te huming phase, and you'll have a gift for life.

This is hands down my favorite version. Schuberts version has nothing on this.

She’s got some intonations off
Nicely sung. But no idea what you are singing, no sense of connection to the text. A song is a monologue, more than just pretty notes and technique, but it has a message, and a story to convey. That is the beauty of a true songstress and artist who understands this, and is able to delivery the complete journey of the song.

To be fair, it's an instructional video to help singers improve their technique. In my view she's demonstrating singing with proper intonation and diction, rather than giving a full voice artistic interpretation of the piece. You are however, quite right in your comments about a song being more than pretty notes. Well said brother.
