- This video compares all of the sizes of every creature from Subnautica (mostly) in order from the smallest parasite to the largest leviathan class species, including a size reference to the Gargantuan leviathan.
Again, because the majority of the creatures have no official sizes online, I had to make rough estimates based on the official sizes posted for a few of the leviathans.

The background music (which frankly is awesome) is directly from the game and are credited to Unknown Worlds Entertainment. I own no rights to it.

Wtf the gargantuan is bigger than the aurora
Fun fact:
Imagine seeing a reaper leviathan that size in your Subnautica game
I still can't believe scientists named one of the fish Reginald 💀
To me, Crabsquids are the scariest-looking monster in Subnautica and today I learned that they are not only bigger than a human, they are probably bigger than my entire bedroom.
i like the creativity that this man had to do the gargantuan size measure lol, didn't thought about that
To put it into perspective for those of us who don't use the metric system... a 12 meter jellyray... is about the size of a school bus.
”detecting multiple leviathan class lifeforms nearby… are you sure what your doing is worth it?”
In this game is hard to notice the real size of the creatures, most of the looks smaller than how they really are. For example a good way to notice the size of a reaper leviathan is putting the Cyclops near one and see them from some distance, both of them have more or less the same lenght, another way is building a base near one of them and compare him with a corridor or a multipurpose room, you can use a stasis rifle for this.

PEEPER IS 40 CENTIMETERS?! THAT'S GIGANTIC
A good trick to use for the big fish is imagining them on a track and how much space they take up. Imagine doing the 55 meter reaper leviathan dash😂
the jump from the emperor to big charlie was mad 💀
You gotta understand whats between 0.6m and 2m would be almost the player size or the same. They are way too small
Actual size of reapers vs how big they are up close
No wonder shockers and the lost river eel are so terrifying, they’re just as big if not bigger than crab snakes

The way Subnautica measures lengths is rather weird, because the arms and legs you see on your own body are on a different scale to make it look right on a screen. There are really two vastly different scales that are combined together to create the illusion of correct perspective.
I’m making a field guide right now of all the subnautica creatures and plants and this video is very helpful for getting sizes and references so thanks! This also reminded me of how damn big the warpers are. You feel like in game they’re the size of yourself since they’re very humanoid but no they’re absolute giants.
Love this, this was also a great identification guide! :)
