She is so beautiful. I remember seeing her in another video about kinky twists as extensions a few years back. Also the locs are beautiful on you. Well done.
I wish had seen a video like yours before I started my loc journey. I started with a mixture of 2 strand twists, 3 strand braids and finger coils. My hair took almost 1 year to actually look like locs. And like you I had 2 at the back that refused to loc. I made a few mistakes along the way, and although many persons told me how great my hair looked, I was not satisfied with some aspects and decided to combine the smaller locs and also add extensions. This was not such a great idea after all, so I am seriously thinking of starting all over. This time, I have some great videos as reference. Thanks for the tips
Your locs are gorgeous!!❤️ I can only dream that my hair was as thick as yours. Just started my locs today. I am really nervous but excited too. Thanks for the video!!
❤❤❤ I just love love love your videos, out of all of the loc journey videos. After watching about 4 or 5 of them, you have answered so many questions. Thank you so much
Subbing! I was wearing my hair in twist for a couple of weeks and I loved not having to maintain as often as you do with lose hair. The problem is a had a lot of unraveling. I love your hair. It’s like GOALS! I may try again and braid a little first and then twist. I like the way the end look when twisted.
Your hair is looking healthy fabulous and full! How many locs do you have? I’m 2 months into my journey and have about 180-ish I’m still learning how to maintain them but I love them already 🥰
Dione Howell thank you! I have roughly 265 locs. And congrats on 2 months! Maintenance can be tricky but once you commit to a method everything gets easier
Your locs are the perfect size! I’m wanting to start my loc journey soon and wanted to know what you mean by rope twists. After watching your videos I went to look up the difference between rope twists and two strand twists and the basic different is twisting each strand of hair as you are twisting them around each other? Is that what you did? If that’s the case how were you able to do your ends? (So sorry for the long comment!)
Hi thank you for sharing, I have been watching your videos and your hair has really done well.I do have a question or 2. As you interlock will your entire head be interlock all the way down to the ends, from root to tip like sister locs, or will it turn into regular locs? I hope you understand what I'm trying to say, haha. it's confusing I know, but please answer the best you can. Thanks.
raineynight the 4 point section actually is skinnier, but I wouldn’t say by too much. I definitely thought the two point was easier so Ill be sticking with that from now on
I am really not sure what I would call it! I sectioned my hair into 4 parts and then went row by row until i was done. I am not a professional at all lol
I started my locs with rope twist too! Mine are much smaller though. I also have different sizes. Is that ok? Like I have really skinny ones and some that is a little thicker
Xenia Knight its okay as long as the skinny ones dont feel fragile like they could break, and as long as you are okay with having diff sized locs. I would suggest having thicker ones along your edges since they take the most tension/manipulation
Do you recommend now to wash as often as you mentioned here? Every 2 weeks? I’m still in the baby stage 2 months to be exact. And I broke up with my loctician. She recommended washing and retighten every 4-6 weeks. But I workout daily and I swear I need to wash my hair more often. And they feel dry with just the spray that I do. Do you recommend steaming or hot oiling your hair still? Did it hinder your locking process? Sorry for all the questions. Thank for this video 🤗
I say wash as often as you need (just try not to dry out your hair)! steaming is wonderful and I definitely still recommend it. It did not slow down the locking process.
Vanessa M yeah you definitely have to be careful with parts that are too small if you DIY. I wanted to go smaller but they felt fragile when i tried to make them smaller.
They are just tight two strand twists. you twist two pieces of hair together, and as you do that, you slightly twist each individual strand before twisting it around the other strand of hair. There are videos on youtube showing how to do it, if that made no sense lol
Your hair it's so pretty! I am going to start my locs today after years if putting it off lol. I've decided to start them with mini twists
Hi, most UA-camrs say they have mini twist but they don’t. Yours is the first I can’t across that is mini however you have the loc. it’s beautiful 🤩
So helpful. I was wondering about when to interloc after I put my twists in.
Your locs are beautiful!!! Don't worry about the flat look. Once they start locking, it'll definitely get thicker!
Latrina Lenae thank you, and i hope so!
She is so beautiful. I remember seeing her in another video about kinky twists as extensions a few years back.
Also the locs are beautiful on you. Well done.
thank you!
Super cute. I just finished putting 260 twists in. This gives me an idea of what mine will look like!!
Ashley Benton awesome! Welcome to the loc community 🖤

hair shouldn't make you unhappy. there is nothing wrong with a fresh start :)
Your locs are gorgeous!!❤️ I can only dream that my hair was as thick as yours. Just started my locs today. I am really nervous but excited too. Thanks for the video!!
I hope you loved your first month being loc'd! And thank you :)
Can you show how you got the parts so straight when you started the twists?
Girl, you are so beautiful!😭❤️
Ben Dover awe thank you so much 😊

Beth Richards thank you! And braiding does help with unraveling!
Told you this on IG I'm sure, but your hair looks LUSH!! Excellent effort! You've done yourself proud!
Sarah-Jane McLean thank you so much!
Lol at the ducker 4:30 😅.
tj Tanner that was my grandma attempting to stay out of the frame 😭😂

I'm embarking on my 4th set of locs, you inspire me!! Best of luck!
You got this!
You’re journey is inspiring ✨. You’re so pretty & that skin thooo 💕
Thank you so much!!
Try sponge rollers for curls. It may give you more volume then braid out.
Your locs did not frizz! How on earth did you manage that... I can't keep mine from merging and they are just 2 1/2 months old.
What other kind of twists other than rope twists? Your hair is absolutely beautiful
Your locs are the perfect size! I’m wanting to start my loc journey soon and wanted to know what you mean by rope twists. thanks! and when I got to the ends of my hair I twirled my hair around my fingers so that the ends would have a coil sealing them shut
Hi thank you for sharing, I have been watching your videos and your hair has really done well.I do have a question or 2. I notices you are dying your hair now. Why did you stop the henna process? Can you do henna with locs?
Your hair looks great
thank you!
Do you interlock and retwist? If so how often do you do each one? Your hair is beautiful!
thanks! and i interlock almost exclusively about every 3 months. I only retwist if I have a special occasion coming up and im not due for a retie yet
Is it ok to start my starter locs twith braiding at the roots and twisting the rest?
My loctician started my locs with rope twist, also
Locd N Christ nice! How do you like them?
Hello i went through all your videos and I heard you mention rose water spray. Can you please 🙏 😢 make a short Video😁
Hello.. you have beautiful hair.😍😍 I really cant wait to get mine installed. How many locs do you have installed if I may ask?
So pretty!!! I am 4 months loc'd but some of my mini twists in the back keep unraveling. Any suggestions
Congrats on your 4th month! Girl, they look so freakin cute! I'm only 2 weeks in... Which interlock tool do you use?
Sajdah Samuels a crotchet needle from amazon! I show it in my interlocking video 😊
Do you notice a difference in the way your locs look after going from 4 point to 2 point? I mean, does the 4 point look skinnier?
raineynight the 4 point section actually is skinnier, but I wouldn’t say by too much. I definitely thought the two point was easier so Ill be sticking with that from now on
Beautiful
mizkayzee thank you 🖤
It looks so neat. How do you keep it from tangeling
Thanks!, and I don't do anything. I wanted them to tangle so they could lock
Thanks for posting this video! Question: What parting method did you use? Would you call this the “brick” method or the “grid” method?
I am really not sure what I would call it! I sectioned my hair into 4 parts and then went row by row until i was done. I am not a professional at all lol
I started my locs with rope twist too! Mine are much smaller though. I also have different sizes. Is that ok? Like I have really skinny ones and some that is a little thicker

When u started did u use any product to start your twist and if so what product was it
I go over that in my 8 month update :)

@@NapsAreTheNewBlack thank you so much
Very very pretty
Did u start spraying it with the water from day one?
Did you use any product to start them?
Nope!
I want them but I do t want a lot of locs
I feel this every time I retighten lol. but honestly retightening 4x/per has been very manageable even with working/going to school
Your hair looks great! Do you know what size your parts are?
Vanessa M thanks! And i didnt think to measure them. I might when I get a chance
Vanessa M okay I measured them today and they are 1/2-3/4ths (the 3/4th parts are around my hairline since there was less hair there)
Thanks! Yeah mine were 1/4 inch at first but they were wayyy to small. I combined all of them and now they’re more like your size.
Vanessa M yeah you definitely have to be careful with parts that are too small if you DIY. I wanted to go smaller but they felt fragile when i tried to make them smaller.
Your locs are beautiful. ❤️❤️❤️
DB101415 thank you 😊
So do I have to blow dry/straighten my hair to start the 2 strand twists?
What are rope twists? Is it the same as Senegalese or kinky twists?
They are just tight two strand twists. you twist two pieces of hair together, and as you do that, you slightly twist each individual strand before twisting it around the other strand of hair. There are videos on youtube showing how to do it, if that made no sense lol
What did you do to prevent the frizz?
I wrap loose hairs around the loc that they belong to every now and then
do you rinse out your hot oil treatment?
DorasGard3n i used to leave it in, but that gave me acne on my forehead and cheeks, so now i do rinse it out after!
What's your hair type?
Did you twist them yourself or did you go to a stylist?
naturallytammii i did them myself!
3 point and 2 point rotation?😨 why are all these videos so technical
How many locs do you have?
How many. Sorry!
She said she has 265 locs.
