Great list! A few add ons for me are: Weird Science, The Last Starfighter, Predator, Aliens, Critters, Top Gun, Cloak and Dagger, Iron Eagle, and Big to name a few. 😎
People arguing over someone else's Favorite Movies list is a strange thing. I never bother making lists anymore but my most watched movies, and the Blu Ray discs on the shelf that I bought to replace DVDs shows what my favorites are. Almost all of my favorites are from the 1980s, late 1970s, and early 1990s.
Good list. Some of those would be on mine. Definitely Back to the Future and definitely Lost Boys. Commando and Peewee's Big adventure is a strong one too.
Great list Kurt, I agree with all of them. Commando is great and has a lot of great one liners in it. The problem with these lists is there’s so many great movies of that era it’s hard to make a list. Thanks for sharing.
Our lists are close, I have most of those movies in my collection. John Candy probably hits most of my top 5, And I was a big fan of the cheesy B rate 80's movies. I used to love the USA up all night with Friday's Rhonda and Saturdays Gilber Godfrey. Great list
I love that this is YOUR list; and unapologetically so. But you fooled me on #1. I kept thinking the next John Hughes movie was going to be "Ferris Bueller's Day Off". Of course, having seen your Filming Locations for "Vacation", I guess I should have seen that coming.
Good selection. Also, thanks for the Diane Franklin interview and lastly, my son and I saw Valley Girl on big screen the other year hosted by Deborah Foreman who is also a very sweet and kind lady. She had a 30 min Q and A after the show.
Great list and it’s YOUR list and can’t be wrong. I was born in 1971 and can relate to most of these movies but my top 5 of all time are JAWS, Halloween, Vacation, Pulp Fiction, Boogie Nights
This is a top tier list. My brother and I ran the absolute hell out of the Gleaming the Cube tape we had, and we were never even skaters! Also, I popped when you talked about BTTF 2 being nearly as perfect as 1, and 3 being less so, this is exactly how I feel. Well done!
Yes! Absolutely! You should absolutely do more lists! Favorite 80s sitcoms, toy lines, fashions, maybe make it a live chat so we can all offer our opinions, long live the 80s! ❤
Your list is like a combination of my mom's favorite movies, my wife's favorite movies and my favorite movies. The only ones on the list that I've never heard of was the skate boarding movies. I'm gonna check them out. I did learn about Wild Life from this channel and I love that movie.....You know at some point you're gonna have to do favorite albums. * fingers crossed *
A great list you have going there! I was 21 in 1985 and yet those John Hughes movies were quite quotable even for us 20 some things… I always put BTTF as my number one movie. I really enjoyed the mixture of comedy and action in that one. Just brilliant. Vacation is always in my top five of all time…
Ya, you are correct, your fav movies. I do agree with your list. I just have not seen them in so long I would not know what one to have first or last. If I could get myself to sit back and watch them all, again, I would. I have not seen any of those films in more than a decade. They do grab you attention and keep that attention. I do not have a problem with you list because all those movies are great. Also, I have not seen Valley Girl since the 80's when my uncle recommended us to watch it. I do not recall it but I do remember it to be funny. And the Def Jam movie, it does ring a bell but nothing is coming back on that movie. No, I do enjoy your list. Lots I could say about all those movies, but I have not seen them in so long, I should take the time to watch some of them. Thanks, as usual for reminding me of old gems of movies. These are classics, and should have more advertising to younger audiences so these films are not forgotten and many more.
Been watching this guys videos for a while now, I think this guy and I were separated at birth. I loved all the movies on his list and I was an avid skateboarder and I’m obsessed with filming locations. He’s absolutely right about Back to the Future 2 being almost as good as the first one. But how does my brother leave out Ferris, Weird Science, ET, Raiders, Real Genius- doesn’t get its due plus Tears for Fears at the end. He should’ve done top 30 lol.
Hi Kurt. Excellent selection of movies. I would add Secret Admirer, Big, Home Alone, Jaws, Lucas and some more. But your selection is very similar to what I would have chosen. Great content as always.
When i tell you i just took the best trip down memory lane. So many good memories of my brother and I watching these movies when were younger. You even mentioned a couple ive seen but forget about. Like Gleaming the cube , Thrashen and The Burbs. All classics. Does anyone know a website where you can purchase these movies. Ive been burned by Amazon. I tried ordering my #1 fav called Shag. And i never received it. You cant trust those 3rd party vendors. Thx in advance if anyone does. Im ready for more list. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😊
Your list is awesome. Gleaming the cube is a classic skateboarding movie. I grew up in NorCal skating the SF bay area. Honorable mention to THRASHIN that was my personal favorite
A great list, I know most of them but a few others are totally unknown to me. I'll search them! I would also add to my list: -The Goonies. - Pump up the Volume. - Gremlins. and a much more modern one: - The Man from Earth. Thanks for sharing your favorites list!
Love your list Kurt! I would definitely have to include Night of the Comet and Repo Man on mine but those are more cult classics. Terminator and Aliens on the action thriller genre.
Gleaming The Cube….Wow! A Young Christian Slater. Boyz N The Hood Still Stands The Test of Time. RIP John Singleton. All of John Hughes Was Amazing RIP. I Find Nothing Wrong With Your Movie 🎥 List. All My Favorite. Commando. Bill Duke: You Know What I Like About This Car?? The Price…
FINALLY someone else appreciates Valley Girl!! Get this: about a month ago my niece was hanging out with....Josie Cotton!! Seriously! Kurt I agree with you on every opinon you have except one... I would put The Lost Boys as the best of the two Coreys movies over License to Drive but hey to each his own... and I completely agree The 'Burbs is Tom Hanks' all time greatest movie 👍
Great list. More lists please in the future. Couple more gems that I haven’t seen many people mention: ET Return of the Jedi Caddyshack Rad (BMX version of Thrashin) North Shore (Surf version of Thrashin) Beverly Hills Cop Coming to America Rocky 4
Great list mate I love most of them & who doesn't love vacation. I'd have purple rain in mine purely for the soundtrack & coming to America was hilarious to me as a kid. Oh got to have the goonies. 😂

Great list. Mine would have to include Ghost Busters, Wall Street, Christmas Vacation, and Predator. Predator’s soundtrack is amazing and makes the movie. Totally with you on Can’t Buy Me Love….. underrated movie.
I agree with so many of your choices ESPECIALLY Valley Girl & Fast Times (I had the poster in my room 1983, I was 13). However, Blade Runner is one of the most amazing movies ever made. The soundtrack as well! My 23 year old son even loves it. ❤️
Very nostalgic!! Especially Colonial Street at Universal, man. Btw, most of my high school days were spent watching skate videos and trying to mimic what we watched. I had a Chad Muska deck with independent trucks, spitfire wheels, and black panther bearings. Between breaking boards and not getting new decks, I'd have to settle for CCS blanks, lol. Either that or buy a friend's used deck.
You can't forget Three O clock high, Weird Science, and Ferris Buellers day off they definitely got to be in a list as well, you should of done a top 30 lol there's just too many.
Great list, I'd definitely have to add Stand by Me & The Goonies BUT this is not MY list , honorable mentions for sure 😁😁(I don't think I could narrow it down to only 20 so...)
Interesting list, few didn't come over the UK, I'll check them out... Few missing, Bloodsport, Running Scared (Billy Crystal), Pump up the Volume (Christian Slater)....... Keep up that great work Kurt.. ❤ from London
Good choices! I am a huge horror fan tho, soooo I would ad Friday the 13th, Nightmare on Elm Street, Fright Night, Pet Cemetery, Children of the corn ( Courtney Gaines) 👍😎💯 Thanks as always!!!! Yes! Do more of these!
Great list and for sure a trip down memory lane. When I was growing up in the 80's, adventure movies were more my thing so the movies that defined me were Raiders of the Lost Ark, Back to the Future, The Goonies, Gremlins, Clash of the Titans, Krull, Star Wars of course, ET, Cloak and Dagger, Terminator and Aliens. Since you're more of a comedy guy my favorites were Better Off Dead, Weird Science, Breakfast Club, Crocodile Dundee and The Gods Must be Crazy.
Great list, Kurt. My top 3 are Do the Right Thing, Field of Dreams, and Back to the Future. How about a list of popular films that you don't like/never got in to? Goonies for me, lol.
I also love to watch my favorite movies over and over again lol I think you should make more list movies . I enjoyed your TV show line up video . This was a good line up 6:10 I remember Boyz In The Hood , Colors , and Stand and Deliver all had a lot of reported violence at the theaters. I remember not being allowed to go either lol PS I have always laughed at Danny LaRussos little "stupid bike" tantrum lol
My brother loved the Fat boys. Had all their albums/cassette tapes. Brings back memories of my brother beat boxing and spitting all over me while doing it. Lol those were the days. ❤
You forgot Porky's, Scarface, Better off Dead, One Crazy Summer,The Heavenly Kid , Back to School,Easy Money and many more I can't name right now.But you have a great selection.Thanx man.
@@sylviarippey6488 I never heard anyone agree with me on that one, but you are absolutely right, great film! Defenitely top 5, number 1 for me stays Sofia Coppola's Lost in Translation though. Magnolia, Stranger than fiction and Intouchables fill my top 5. No 80s though.
You can't have a list of 80's movies without giving a shoutout to Cannon Films. Their films were the ultimate mix of sex, violence, 80's pop-culture, cheesy lines, B-list actors, and outrageous story lines. The "ninja" films. American Ninja films. Death Wish 2, 3 and 4. Breakin' and Breakin' 2 Electric Boogaloo. Missing in Action trilogy. Last American Virgin. Cobra. Exterminator 2. Runaway Train. Invasion USA. Bloodsport. Barfly. Masters of the Universe. The list goes on!
At Close Range ('86) Blade Runner ('82) Big Trouble in Little China ('86) Gym-kata ('85) Heavy Metal ('81) Howard the Duck ('86) Spaceballs ('87) To Live & Die in L.A. ('85) The Shining ('80) Weekend at Bernie's ('89)
Nice list. Here are some of my favorite 80s movies: Goonies Back to the future Lost Boys Last star Fighter Silver Bullet Golden Child Trading Places Big Trouble in little China Explorers Fright Night The Last Dragon Ghostbusters They Live The Running Man Little Shop of Horrors
There were too many good ones to pick. War Games, Tron, Weird Science, Short Circuit, Gremlins, Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure, Real Genius, Ferris Bueller‘s Day Off, Star Wars, ET, Space Camp, the never ending story, Clash of the Titans. If you haven’t seen the Lou Ferrigno version of Hercules, that’s another classic.
80s action movies were the bomb. Robocop, Predator, Commando, wow the best.
The Terminator
Aliens
Lethal Weapon
Die Hard
48 Hours
Other greats Rambo, Bloodsport, Rocky 3,4.
Regardless of anyone's list choices, we can all agree, they just don't make movies and music like they did in 80's.
So awesome you included Krush Grove. That really was a great movie with a pretty cool soundtrack.
Great list!
A few add ons for me are: Weird Science, The Last Starfighter, Predator, Aliens, Critters, Top Gun, Cloak and Dagger, Iron Eagle, and Big to name a few. 😎
Looking at just your list... um... well: I do really like _Aliens_ and I loved _Top Gun._ I need to watch _Big_ all the way through.
People arguing over someone else's Favorite Movies list is a strange thing.

Gotta love them 80s! Thanks so much!😮💯🤍👍!
It's funny how Crucial begins by forecasting what people will comment & they do exactly that as-if they neglected to hear his introduction.
You definitely got some of my favorites. I love that you included The Burbs, totally under-rated movie.
One of the best lists I've seen! Although the Goonies and Stand by Me are classics. This was awesome!! Good job!
Good list. Some of those would be on mine. Definitely Back to the Future and definitely Lost Boys. Commando and Peewee's Big adventure is a strong one too.
It's amazing that u and I almost have the same exact list.
Great list, and there’s a couple I haven’t seen that I’m gonna check out now. Thanks.

Bruce Dern 🤣🤣🤣
mad respect, mad respect for that top 10
No Goonies, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Weird Science or Stand By Me? Or my Fiancee's favorite John Hughes film Uncle Buck? Solid list though.
They’re just obvious common choices. I prefer that they’re not in someone’s list to see what else they choose other than the obligatory obvious
What about Who Framed Hairy Crumb? 😉
I love _Goonies_ to death and like _Ferris Bueller_ a lot but _Weird Science_ is pure garbage.
Goonies and Stand by me are highly overrated melodrama comedy...
@@luislopes2494 I would agree. But _Weird Science_ is that bad. No such thing as overrated compared to that turkey.

It all depends on the type of taste of each person and I think that those of us who were born in the mid or late 70's and were able to live the wonderful 80's enjoyed the best time in the world and I am sure that our dream would be to travel to the past! something that those who had their childhood in the 90's do not think the same and I would say that in my childhood I adored and still adore adventure movies and for me the N1 would be The Goonies where those types of movies left you dreaming and thinking about the movie you just saw! I love the 80's, I love this channel and I love your content!!
Being a child in the 80s was a lot different than being an adult. Not so great.
The brink of nuclear destruction in 1981 and close a few more times that decade. AIDS epidemic hit and at first people didn't know it was only a blood/sex transmission. You were shielded as a kid so oblivious to what was happening. That's why you remember it as the "greatest decade".
Rad is my number one in the 80’s. I was a BMXer of course and Great Outdoors was up there too.

@@nieksalomons Lost in Translation the movie and soundtrack in my top 5 as well.
@@sylviarippey6488 Well, then rest me to say, you have excellent taste!
A good list for sure. But i would have liked to see "The Goonies" on the list. But again, it is your personal list :)
Only DVD i own is THE LOST BOYS!!!!!!
All classics! ❤

Great video I enjoyed it. How come no love for My Cousin Vinny?
There were too many good ones to pick. War Games, Tron, Weird Science, Short Circuit, Gremlins, Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure, Real Genius, Ferris Bueller‘s Day Off, Star Wars, ET, Space Camp, the never ending story, Clash of the Titans. If you haven’t seen the Lou Ferrigno version of Hercules, that’s another classic.
Short Circuit 👍 Cocoon 👍 Toy Soldiers 👍 Enemy Mine 👍 War Games 👍 The Boy Who Could Fly 👍
