There's so many job pathways in the industry to becoming a specialist... there's storyboard, VFX, Motion Graphics, Graphic Design, Type, Concept Design, Illustration, UI, Texture painting, Animation 2D and 3D, Matte Painting...just to name a few.... and I'm 21 years old and have switched my major twice now. I'm going into my first semester to take drawing classes under a bachelor's degree in art up north. I tried recording arts and I tried computer animation and game development (one major), but my heart seemed to identify with designing more than anything else. My plan was to finish my bachelor's degree at my current university and by the time I turn 24 I'll be able to continue my plan and receive a much longed for education from the fantastic Art Center... I find that my passion lies in the video games - I have always been super competitive and it's my favorite time-passing activity. Do I want to plan for illustration (in the entertainment track) or entertainment design (concept design) bachelor plans? I just feel like I need to go there....something's calling me.
Wow, what a visual high. I would've loved to have been there. Visiting the Art Center always makes my heart sing. Wish I had the money to take courses there. The work their students produce is amazing.
Oh my goodness! I'm about to have my graduate exhibition at the end of this year and the pressure is real! But, it's also very motivating. Thanks for the vid!
Im just curious, just nicely asking, no hate. But is there a big asian population in LA? It seems like there is a lot of them in Art Centre and in Blind. or is this just by chance that I noticed that ?
Nice! Feel bummed out. This is an elite/expensive school. What kind of salaries do designers starting out make? Just wondering how long it would take to get out of tuition debt? Should I even dream about going here if I have to loan 150-200K?
I actually got to the point that I'm checking UA-cam to see if you guys posted something. #eagertolearnmore Btw the work looks amazing, that's next level student work.
Cris I have a question, How do I balance clients wanting me to handle growth and design in their start-ups? who do I hire to help me do this? I feel like I can only do that for a few startups. Also, Most want to give equity for this service how do I go about that as well? do I personally take the equity of my startup takes the equity?
I attended ACCD, graphic design, in the 1970s. It wasn't like this at all. Critiques were attacks, so much unkindness. A teacher trashes your work & then secretly takes it & displays in their office. It just left us hurt. This video makes me sad, wish things could have been positive & respectful long ago too. Students would drop out, hurting.
The quality of work at that grad show looks to be outstanding!
it sure is.
check the show notes for links
Thanks, didn't spot them before. Top stuff 😀

i don't get the zoom email even though I'm in your mailing list :(
A 4 minute episode's been live for 2 minutes and already a dislike- seems legit!
Definitely wished I could've gone to Art Center, but I know that with hardwork and learning from @thefutur, I can get equal results for my work.
we're the next best thing.
Wish I had the opportunity to display my work for so many big companies.
you do. go to art center.
Wooow!

That's brilliant! Keep up the good work.
The animal kingdom (around 3mins) reminded me of one of the recent Futur TShirt designs... =D
