Paris in July - is the madness worth it?

We visited the Eiffel Tower and The Louvre in Paris in July and it was just nuts, simply heaving with tourists. So is it worth the effort?

So is it worth it. Yes it is. But in this video I try to illustrate the sheer quantum of people at Paris's two major tourist attractions and strategies to beat the crowds. Firstly, I highly recommend booking ahead in peak season for everything. This saves sometimes hours lining up in the hot sun (or rain), and secondly, I strongly recommend planned visits first thing each day if you can, or at least mid morning at the latest, especially with kids - sunset views from the tower are usually hazy and just not worth the crowds. The views earlier in the day are better and the crowds are far fewer. It's still packed, but at least it's bearable.
