Question! I just bought the LG C4 65 inch. I found it att a lower price at a website (about 800 dollars cheaper). The model nummer at the other stores that were selling the C4 has OLED65C44LA while the one i bought was OLED65C41LA. Does anyone know if there are any differences and if so, what are they? Thanks.
Contrary to the claim made in the video, the results aren't valid for all other sizes.... The 42inch and 48inch don't get as bright. Although supposedly the difference is less stark then it was on the C3.
I have a 42" C2 and a 83" C2, they both get very bright and are bright enough to block glare. I'm not saying the test measurement numbers are wrong, but I really world watching content it's not very noticeable. Does anyone know what the brightness numbers for the 48/42" are?
Its useless on 4k. What are going to run? Age of empires and couple other games. I would rather choose accurate picture quality over muddy pixels as they are not able to handle 240hz correctly
Basically Its a C3 with 144Hz panel. I am looking to upgrade my old C7 this year, but I think I'll pony up the extra cash and go for the G4, given I tend to use them for 5+ years and 20K+ hours. Hopefully the G4 would be less susceptible to colour degradation of OLED pixels (permanent burn in) after 10K+ hours of use. On my C7, around 12K hours I started noticing the pixel colour degradation (on parts of the screen in magenta and yellow) and now at 23K+ hours, the degradation is easily noticeable in magenta and yellows. My C7 is still serving me well to this day.
5:58 what do you mean you're not used to seeing a green tint off axis on C series? RTINGS test results have shown this for a long time, it's one of my biggest problems with my C1 and wish I had realized before purchase.

Minor comment re the stand - You state it is identical to the last two generations of C series - you appear to be correct apart from the front metal plate finally being a darker hue which I for one think smartens up the appearance from the front - I have one of these 65" C4's arriving 15/05 I cannot wait :) Thanks for the review Abby :)
I love this tv budget pending, would you chose the 55 inch or 65 inch for 9ft away for general tv 4k films and ps5? The guides say 65 but would 55 still stand up ok?
It's a widespread issue that impacts almost all LG OLED panels but varies widely from unit to unit. LG Electronics has confirmed to us that our unit is about as bad as it gets, and anything worse wouldn't pass LG's quality control checks. Although it varies between units, most people won't see this issue on their TV.
Just bought one of these to replace an edge-lit QLED TV from 2018 It’s also the first time I’m playing anything beyond 60hz in gaming mode. My room is fairly dim. Am I going to be happy? Wondering if I should have gone for the G3 and worried I will have a green tint.
@@bricaaron3978 But Oled light 10 is very dark. Even in a light controlled room like mine I use way higher than that like at least around 20-30. It is better to turn of the TPC in the service menu. And then that dimming is gone. And only the ABL is left.
@@cajampa Yes, actually disabling it is better. But you couldn't be more wrong about '10' being very dark. In the range of low ambient light to literally pitch black it is _more_ than bright enough, I assure you. I have been assuming that since 2017, LG's OLEDs have become even brighter --- not that I need more brightness per se, but every bit helps when you want to use BFI or LCD glasses for stereoscopy. I have a "High FoV Gaming" setup in which my standard view distance is 18". With the 55" OLED this gives me a horizontal Display FoV of 106° --- higher than most VR displays. When the In-Game FoV is increased to match the Display FoV you get a perfectly realistic image, completely free of distortion. The increase in immersion from increasing Display FoV is indescribable. I believe that most people would sooner go back to a lower resolution or framerate than go back to a lower Display FoV, simply because the immersion of the experience is enhanced so much. Going back is like going from being _in_ the world to seeing the world through a toilet paper tube.
I am moving to my new home soon. I am contemplating buying G3 or TCL C845K. There is a 1k Euros difference. I am just an avid movie and music lover. sometimes gaming. Could you please advice whether to save 1k Euros or go for G3?
RTINGS does not test European market only TVs such as the TCL C845K. TCL sells different lineups in Europe and North America. Anyways, I would consider the G4 over the G3 since the G4 fixes or mitigates several bugs that are present in the G3 such as a bad game mode, near black chrominance overshoot, and black crush. From what I gathered from a FlatpanelsHD review, the TCL C845 comes with an outdated main SoC and Google TV 11. Android 11 went end of life on February 2024. I am not sure whether or not an update for your TV to a newer and supported version of Google TV is available, so you might be stuck with an end of life OS with a TCL C845. Since LG still updates WebOS for its older TVs, out of those two choices, the G3 wins. However, I really recommend going for the G4 instead if that is possible.
Have the issue where, if I use my Xbox then go to TV it freezes, is the only solution to unplug? I hold the power button on remote till it turns off then turn back on, but this is my first oled and first time spending that $$ on a TV, surely there needs to be an update !!!!?

Not sure why LG C series is considered mid range. Yes, it is more affordable than other OLEDs but cost just as much if not more than high end non OLED tvs. A ferrari is not a midrange car just because its cheaper than a Bugatti.
Exactly. An OLED like the C Series or A80. Still the second best TVs in their respective lineups. Comparing a C4 or A80 to the G4 or 95L. It’s a 911 to a 911 Turbo. You’ll have some noticeable improvements but the 911 is fine for 98-99 percent. I have an A80K and an A95. Yeah their is differences but the jump didn’t feel as big as Full Array to OLED did.
Great all-around Tv, shame about the Game mode. Fixed on the G4, yet even with the new updated a9 processor on the C4 this year, same problems persists, like on the C3 last year. Dull, dim and lack of color brightness. So... i guess maybe its time to look elsewhere. I'm curious what Panasonic will bring to the table with their Z95a, both for movies and gaming. They use the same LG panels.
Unless you are a professional PC gamer you won't notice the input lag difference with other picture modes. it would be nice if LG fix this problem with a firmware update though.

Anyone else has issues with DTS:X when connecting to an LG Soundbar? I have the 77' C4 + LG S95QR which both advertising to be compatible with DTS:X over DTS-HD MA over EARC which it doesn't. Wow orchestra works fine with Dolby Atmos but not DTS:X :( It does work if you connect your external devices (in my case NVIDIA Shield) directly to the soundbar but than you will lose the WOW orchestra option. Very disappointing.
So how does the C4 get even brighter than the C3 Evo? Is LG holding back on increasing nits each year? My C3 has ATSC 3.0 and has been a great experience. I'll be skipping the C4, but will keep an eye of if they keep incrementally increasing nits each gen, or if it plateu's again for a while.
this was our experience with the menu: The TV runs the 2024 version of LG's proprietary smart interface, webOS. The interface is fast and easy to use, and it supports user profiles, so you can customize the home page for different users. The TV has a bug that causes the occasional black screen when changing resolutions and refresh rates frequently in a short period. The only fix for this is to unplug and re-plug the TV, but this is unlikely to happen with real-world usage.
I did not know the 42” was less bright until I actually calibrated it and measured 722 Nits….. and that was after my refund date, I am not too thrilled about it
Can someone explain the Samsung s90D? From what i understand if you purchase a 55" or 65" S90D the panel may be either QD-OLED or WB-OLED? Is that correct? And if so, why are they doing this? I really doubt there would be a market for a 42 inch G4. If there was I am sure LG would have plugged it by now. Even as it is, the market for 42 inch premium TVs is very small in comparison with less expensive (far less expensive in most cases) models.
I’m surprised you have put both LG and Samsungs OLED from 2023 into your so called longevity test but no Sony’s from 2023. Any reason for that ?especially considering they are the only brand who had severe screen burn issues with their past models TVs in your test and your test also shown us that Sony has the highest risk of screen burn than Samsung and LG regardless of what panel they use QD OLED or WOLED. your test on S95C and G3 also proves that WOLEDs with MLA is has higher risk of screen burn than the 2nd gen QD OLED. For example If you look at Samsung and LG within the same period of longevity let’s just say 6 months into the test you can see the screen burn on LG is more pronounced. I’m still suspicious of why Sony 2023 models weren’t added to this test.

@@DMthefuturemeonly when you're watching it on axis in a single colored screen comes up, usually grey or white
I had to actually look at a gray slide and stand off axis to even see if it was an EVO panel and had the tint.
During normal viewing you simply don't notice it. On axis is doesn't exist and off axis with real content, it's very uniform.
Distance off axis hat I had to get was pretty ridiculous it was to the point no one would watch the TV from that far off axis.
Its something people on the internet complain about but it's not something that actually impacts their experience.
I think a lot of people complaining don't even own one
@user-zn9ke8um8s From my experience the C3 48-inch has noticeable blue-tint from an angle
I have an LG 65C4 oled and it doesn't have a green tint at all, that's a lie!
Question! I just bought the LG C4 65 inch. I found it att a lower price at a website (about 800 dollars cheaper). But it has a different model number than the other websites that were selling the same TV at a higher pricepoint.
We've just added a new pinned comment that addresses this, sorry for causing any confusion!
I have a 42" C2 and a 83" C2, they both get very bright and are bright enough to block glare. I'm not saying the test measurement numbers are wrong, but I really world watching content it's not very noticeable. Does anyone know what the brightness numbers for the 48/42" are?
@@michael-4k4000 nah. The 42 inch C series is noticeably dim
What would you suggest between lgc4 and woled s90d? They don’t have qdoled for s90d in Australia
Still no 240hz though? I really want a 240hz monitor but they are all so tiny. Biggest I can find is 32".
I went from from a C9 to the G4 and it’s amazing. Truly stunning
You can virtually eliminate that degradation by keeping your brightness as low as possible, which is easy in a dark environment.
you'll just pay more to have the same panel expiration date. Not worth it imo
@@Henrique-wv9xq What do you mean by expiration date?
Awesome review! Just got a 48" C4 for $1,040 so my Olympics viewing is much improved. My old TV was 9 years old and sad - haha!
5:58 what do you mean you're not used to seeing a green tint off axis on C series? RTINGS test results have shown this for a long time, it's one of my biggest problems with my C1 and wish I had realized before purchase.
I have C3 and there is no green tint.
I have two 55 inch tvs. C9 and CX and could not be happier with these tv's. Although at some point a 77 inch needs to come into my life. C4 or G4 is the question.
CX gang. Mines still going strong 2-3 years
G4 right now is the best. It's just the price right now. I am sure Black Friday the price will drop for the G4.
@@terrybogardbest1 it’s funny how I said going strong and I may need to be buying a new tv soon😂 would you suggest g3 or g4. I can find g3 65 inch at Best Buy open box excellent sometimes for like 1500-1700 seems like a great deal
How does it handle the motion processing especially the stutter that is associated with all OLEDs?
Any thoughts on screen getting warmer (close to hot) ?
Should that be point of worry ?
Im looking at a c4 and also the panasonic z90a. When will you be doing a review for the panasonic z90a? Thanks.
Minor comment re the stand - You state it is identical to the last two generations of C series - you appear to be correct apart from the front metal plate finally being a darker hue which I for one think smartens up the appearance from the front - I have one of these 65" C4's arriving 15/05 I cannot wait :)
Thanks for the review Abby :)
Love my C3. Have not noticed any green tinting on my set when panning past 28 degrees. May be something unique to the C4?
It is a panel lottery issue with the second generation WOLEDs such as in the C3 and C4. You won the panel lottery.
My C3 has some issues with green tints on white human faces, but it's not all the time.
I love this tv budget pending, would you chose the 55 inch or 65 inch for 9ft away for general tv 4k films and ps5? The guides say 65 but would 55 still stand up ok?
Go for the 65 and you will not look back! Upgraded my 55C9 to the 65C4 and so glad I did it.
Is it worth paying a significant amount extra for the G45? Will the average person see a difference in image with everyday use?
Hi RTINGS can you guys do a video about using the C4 as a computer monitor? Vs the C3; any advantages with the C4 for this usage?
I purchased the 42inch C4 and its an incredible PC monitor. I play all my games in 4k 144hz and its pretty smooth. Huge upgrade over my LG B6(2016)
42 inch C series is so dim
Q90d or C4 50 inch and 48? Want good HDR
Just got mine last weekend; 65 inches model. I checked the angles and I don't see any green tint
It have been updates fixing the issues if the C4
Where is the Continue Watching…..??? I have several streaming apps and the main software SHOULD be tracking that for my ease of use. Where is it?
Ehhh, guess I’ll wait for the C5 to hopefully get MLA so I can finally upgrade from my CX unless I find a nice G3 on sale.
Just bought one of these to replace an edge-lit QLED TV from 2018
It’s also the first time I’m playing anything beyond 60hz in gaming mode. My room is fairly dim.
Am I going to be happy? Wondering if I should have gone for the G3 and worried I will have a green tint.
What about auto dimming when u use it as a monitor?
You have to turn it off as usual by messing around through unofficial means. Like through for example color control.
On my OLED55B7A it can be effectively disabled by setting the OLED Light at '10'.

However, I really recommend going for the G4 instead if that is possible.
pls start including vrr stutter like you done form monitors but i don’t see for tv's

83” G3 vs 83” C4?
I’d imagine the G3 but there is barely ANY info on it 😞

nice job! Question. My room is an upstairs bonus room. No windows. Will be mostly movies and sports. Ambient light can be controlled. Would you say this C4 still is better than the A80L? Thank you!

They will both have similar brightness depending on mode. The larger screen will look brighter because of the larger screen size. My 77C1 look brighter with the exact same settings as my 55C1 in another room.
C1 owner - magic remote is a disaster for people with poor dexterity/older people. The pointer can't be disabled and keeps showing up, confusing some people or just annoying others (me), and the middle button/wheel combo is a catastrophe for people with dexterity or other issues.
Then just don't use it? You can set the sensitivity of the magic remote to low, so it won't activate by accident. Only when you open the menu but as soon as you press a direction button, it's gone
It would be nice if you say what version of USB the TV has.

Congrats on the purchase! We hope you enjoy it 😄 And yeah, that would be nice!
Not sure why LG C series is considered mid range. Yes, it is more affordable than other OLEDs but cost just as much if not more than high end non OLED tvs. A ferrari is not a midrange car just because its cheaper than a Bugatti.
Midrange class TV but high range price class 😂
That's way LG C model only from last season C2, C3
You have the M series, G Series, C series, B series and A series. That's perfectly in the middle of the LG OLED TV range
It's a midrange super car.
OLED TV's are inherently expensive, just like super cars.
C4 or G3 both in 65 inch which one would you choose and why?

I wonder how the LG C4 will hold up against Sony's new Bravia 8?
Great all-around Tv, shame about the Game mode.
Fixed on the G4, yet even with the new updated a9 processor on the C4 this year, same problems persists, like on the C3 last year. Dull, dim and lack of color brightness. So... i guess maybe its time to look elsewhere. I'm curious what Panasonic will bring to the table with their Z95a, both for movies and gaming. They use the same LG panels.
Unless you are a professional PC gamer you won't notice the input lag difference with other picture modes. it would be nice if LG fix this problem with a firmware update though.

is it true that the menu is laggy?
this was our experience with the menu: The TV runs the 2024 version of LG's proprietary smart interface, webOS.

C4 is a great TV, but still the ugly brother of G4. Damn, we need small 42" 48" G4s !
I really doubt there would be a market for a 42 inch G4. If there was I am sure LG would have plugged it by now. Even as it is, the market for 42 inch premium TVs is very small in comparison with less expensive (far less expensive in most cases) models.
LG C4, continuing the trend of "Jack of all trades, master of none" It's just a great all-around TV. I'm still blown away any time I used my C3.
The reason why some of the G4 stuff isnt on the C4 is cost. A lot of cost.
