He doesn't owe anyone an answer. It's a private matter that was outed and was seemingly resolved privately. Why should his debts or settlements have to be made public?
@@Romans8-9 if you actually don't know, Toms debts were made public by people he owed money. He avoided talking to the relevant people about his debts until it was made public, so now it's publicly known that the dude is in lots of debt
@@ltisenotem I am aware of what happened, which is why I said he was outed. The matter is presumably resolved. Whether it is or isn't though, no one outside of those involved is owed some kind of explanation from him.

PS: the whole reason Dwan's debts were made somewhat public IS BECAUSE HE REFUSED TO PAY FOR YEARS.

I mean I would venture to say anyone who said they loved poker as a professional player would be more of a sociopath. Playing with friends is a lot different than playing for a living for hours on end. Poker is a very predatory zero sum game and I find it extremely hard to get enjoyment out of it over the long term.
Would one rather travel, enjoy wonderful views, maybe the beach, eat great food, and just take it easy with the people we love? Most of us would. Better that than to grind it out day in and day out for many hours a day at a card table with others who also want to take your money.
@haniotis3421 Romanticizing poker doesn't really make much sense. Playing a zero sum game for hours on end where you fold or don't play 95% seems like torture. Even the highest caliber players can find themselves broke or in debt very easily.

Tom needs to explain these issues in an interview in depth if he thinks he isn't wrong and wants his named cleared. If not, it seems odd that so much has came out about him owing people money yet he always makes these statements like he's been wronged. These big time players borrow and lend hundreds of thousands to each other all the time without a handshake or contract. Sometimes they win big and are owed and sometimes they lose big and need time to pay it back...what goes around, comes around. Next year some player will owe Dwan a million and 6 months after they will negotiate it down to $700K but with a promise to invite Dwan to a few soft games full of coked up billionaires..
He's broke, or close enough. If he wasn't broke he wouldn't have all these debts.
