Why paying $46 million when you can buy a proper mansion for $15 million within the neighbourhood and have $31 million left to spend on everything else
You can literally buy a mansion in Asia for only $200k-$400k and the beach can even be your backyard. I’ve seen a lot of Americans, Europeans and Australians literally living for good in Asian islands with huge houses and the beach as their backyard.
@@mikaelagomez3430 lol Asia is too general dude, yeah you can get a nice house for $300k usd in some parts of Asia, while in other parts even $1m usd only gets you a crappy shoebox
I tend to agree. I also wish the duo filming and hosting would remember that people watch real estate, gardening and interior decoration videos to look at those things, not have a human take up most of the space in a frame/be focused on. There's not need to talk constantly unless you really have something of added value to bring to the video. Not to be rude, but they're the frame for the photo, not the star of the portrait.
For 46 Million, you can purchase a 2 story penthouse on billionaires row in New York City. This apartment is not worth 46 million.. truly, what a rip.. Small apartment, with views that show empty lands also horrible building design, whoever priced this apartment is truly a rookie and their expectations are beyond this world..
Melbourne is a vastly more expensive housing market than that of New York, which explains the price. I'd rather look out at "empty lands" than the concrete of a neighbouring skyscraper.
It was purchased in 2009 for $19.5 million dollars, the building is one of the finest apartment building not only in Melbourne but the whole of Australia. The owner was dreaming asking $47 million, they have already dropped the price by $10 million, so it’s now hovering around $36 million. It’s worth somewhere between $28to $30 million not a penny more making a million a year is not bad.
you forgot to show the pool but all in all beautiful place. I actually work next door at St v's hospital and I always wondered what that penthouse was like, thanks.
Most of it is derivative, stock and property speculation, intergenerational wealth compounding interest, private ownership. Money making money. Basically they own things under their name, companies, properties, resources etc. If you think you can get rich by working hard haha not likely, not in this amount anyway
in melbourne it gets colder since its farther south. Some parts of Australia even gets snow! Although it is true most places here get to be like over 40 degrees celcius haha
I personally find the interior design of this apartment to be very serious and solemn. At the end of the day I wanna come back to a place where it's cozy and comfortable with a homely ambiance and a bit of modern hippie art. This place looks like an office and a modernised Asian imperial palace(I would not be surprised if the owner of this place is Asian).
Hi Lucy, great video. Nobody in Australia would pay that money for the apartment. It’s way too expensive for what you get. Not even if it was located in Beverly Hills in LA. I guess the maximum price would be around 25 MM.
So it’s a great house in a fantastic location. I’m hunting , doe the back of the sofa for the 46M I dropped last night. Seriously though, I enjoyed seeing the video.
This time you forgot your oysters well last time was your coffee both, never came back for it. way big price to pay $46 mil. i would rather get 6 house and 5 of them rent it out and stay in 1 house. but i still like to live here in Melbourne. next do some houses next to beach. Saint kiilda or in frankston, mornington, or brighton, elwood
View is good, and it is mega huge space, but for the local property price, about 1-1.5 million per 2 bedroom, I am not sure if this has 30-46 2bedroom all together? So this is probably target overseas billionaire market.
This price tag for any house is extravagant and ridiculous! No house is worth this. You can get a perfectly nice and pricey house for $2m with all the creature comforts. If you can afford to squander this kind of money for a house, you should do something more worthwhile with it. Plenty of homeless people and those struggling to live and plenty of worthwhile causes out there. It will be good for your soul and conscience (if you have some).
She says,”This is what life‘s all about isn’t it?” My life is all about rotted weatherboards and ghastly 70s Italian tiles kmn 😭 (just as an afterthought don’t leave the oysters on the bench put it back in the fridge! you’re gonna get epic food poisoning
no matter where it was located this place should not cost 46m. so ridiculous! I rather buy a land and build my own mansion in Melbourne, and i would still have extra money left over for nice cars and so on.
Being objective and without looking at prices (everyone is free to charge for their property what they deem appropriate), this is truly a luxurious but cozy apartment, with excellent taste in decoration and each room is a world in which each member can immerse yourself in your own privacy without leaving your family. What good taste. Very unlike the apartments of the same value that the real states of the USA show, exaggerated and with poor taste in decoration, they usually look like a drug trafficking house and not a home. Clearly the USA has a lot to learn from places like Australia.
yeah but if take into account the salary of the assistant that picked it up and the company car of that assistant and so on ....that Palmolive costs thousands :P jk ...sort of
I don’t see any detailing in the place to hit $46 Million. I acknowledge the location and view as much as the space but the no. they’ve put up in this place is a bit over exaggerated this in not Belair Beverly Hills 😏.
It doesn’t feel 46 millions, boring and flat style, the views are incredible….. the staging looks dated and conservative it doesn’t matter how expensive are those furnitures…. A lot of repetition…..zero wow factor…..over priced
The building in its self is not even prestige! A high apartment in the same area would cost about 30 million less and be more luxurious! Definitely a rip off

Why paying $46 million when you can buy a proper mansion for $15 million within the neighbourhood and have $31 million left to spend on everything else
the people that could afford a $46 million apartment probably have hundreds of millions or even billions of dollars anyway
This would be an international billionaire who buys this and he would rarely live in it. Only when he visited Melbourne.
Why?
Because they can afford it.
@@lettuce1305 lol
Why do you care! Lol
$46 million where in the world did they come up with that price? 6 or 7mill would be a reasonable price in my opinion.
The owner probably wants to offload it and is trying to call an outrageous starting price to settle at maybe 26 million.
Australian dollar

they need to slow down also. We barely get into a room and the host is already half way out.

@Lachie Odgers it's not worth that much

The decor is a bit oudated. it looks like those 1990's luxury homes with dark wood and classic chandeliers.
For 46 M$ you could have much better
Feels like they live in an office. Didn't feel homely at all.
Exactly. I though it looked dated. #old.

Unfortunately the style of the furniture makes it worth a lot less than 46 mil
