Just want to point out the duality of Hextech vs Chemtech.
Hextech is being limited to the elite whereas Chemtech as proliferated throughout the undercity.
Hextech causes fewer problems, but at the cost of less opportunity for others.
Chemtech is commonly available but has also wreaked havoc on the populous.
You focus a lot on Hextech, but I am not sure you realized that chemtech is the undercity's answer. Technically, chemtech came first as we can see Powder using it to power the shooting gallery.
In the undercity you find all sorts of chemtech devices including lights, Savika's arm, Silco's eye cure, medicine, drugs, and more. While Shimmer is part of chemtech, it's not the full extent of it.
From a color point of view it typically shows up in greens and purples. It's interesting that it often appears as a sickly green but in the Firelights' hoverboards it's a healthy bright green.
You were asking what you are without Hextech, Viktor could delve into Chemtech research if he were sent back to the undercity.

When it comes to Silco and Powder/Jinx's relationship, Silco loves Jinx but not Powder. The reason I think this, is because from his perspective, Powder is the one hurting Jinx hurting his daughter. Powder's the one who keeps remembering all the trauma, all the painful memories. I'm not the person who pointed this out, but when Powder had the PTSD flashback, she curled into herself and ran away. Jinx would've just blasted at it. So, if we're looking from Silco's POV, why would he love Powder when she's causing Jinx all this pain? That's why he's encouraging Jinx to let Powder, aka, the trauma, the pain, die. What he doesn't realize, which is easy to see as he's never dealt with his own trauma, is that you can't just turn trauma off, you can't just push it aside, otherwise it'll come back in full force eventually. I've never thought about the old Silco and the current one, but if Silco's feared by everyone, but Jinx, I think it's the old Silco loving Jinx. Just like it's Powder loving Silco.

I think the symbolic colors for the girls that you are looking for might be "Violet" and "Powder Blue". Like, you know, their NAMES?
Mel has been pulling Jayce's strings literally since the first moment she spoke to him at his trial. She got him to reveal what he was really up to. She voted to keep him in Piltover. She inserted herself as an 'ally' by catching them and then not turning them in. She put him on the council. Now she is going to control the council through him. Yet, from her perspective this is just 'normal' and proper behavior. She even considers it 'helping' him to get better at 'the game'... making him a better 'partner' to run Piltover with. Indeed, shockingly her ultimate goal is mostly 'good'... to protect Piltover, help it prosper, and make the world a better place through Hextech. Though her REASON for wanting to do those things is largely to show up her family for not accepting her.
Jinx is not an adult. Estimates of her age from various people involved in making the show vary up to 17, but they have definitely said that she is still a minor. That said, Violet was likely about 16 when she set the high score that Jinx couldn't beat, so the general point about 'old Vi' being a better brawler than 'new Jinx' stands.
Heimerdinger's obliviousness to the corruption around him is shown in the scene with the music, but also a major theme of his character and why he failed to notice / do anything about the suffering of the undercity.
It's not definitively stated that Jinx is a minor by anyone working on the show. It's likely best to assume she is, given that it's likely from the age range possible, but there's been no actual confirmation.
I believe the showrunner has said she’s likely 17-19 (they say she was about 11-12 in act 1, and about 6-7 years pass between acts). I’d say it’s safe to say she’s 18, to act as an analogy of her becoming an adult, deciding who she is.

Silco is saying to let Powder die because her memories and past attachments hurt Jinx, the new person Powder is trying to survive, right?(and maybe Silco can’t stand Jinx being hurt? Or what’s your opinion? Still lying or manipulating just to have Zaun or is a two birds on one?) Not saying I agree totally with him, I just love him, but yeah Zaun people is normally broken…almost impossible to be sane and/or healthy, I think.
P.D.: Don’t you think Natural by Imagine Dragons fits so well with Silco?
Two things to also think about is Silco feels he fixed himself by killing his old self, so he probably thinks this will help jinx. Also I guarantee there’s no therapist in the undercity, so he’s probably doing his best and doesnt know a better way to help her. I think it’s true care and her constantly being affected by her past he’s doing what he thinks is right to help her move on from her past

I have to say, you have the patience of a Saint! All those people in your chat who lacked the capacity to spill spoilers and hint at future events triggered me HARD. I couldn't watch a new show with people like that and enjoy it myself, I had SO MANY instances where I wanted to slap the people who felt the need to spoil upcoming events or relationships between characters! Either you have amazing skill at ignoring spoilers or your mods didn't spend the time filtering out those messages.
That being said, I went on a binge watching your reaction to this show and ended up not skipping any content. You are informed, informative, and really interesting to watch. I am glad you found this show worth your time!

I know it works for some people but man there's no way I could be happy if someone played less than their best and I beat them. Maybe if they played bottom tier characters - but that's only a maybe. I would rather get smashed 1000 times in a row than win once if a person is playing less than optimally so I can get a win. I understand Caitlyn 100% .
I have been immensely enjoying these incredible deep dives into this show, and the compassion and empathy with which you approach all the different characters. The only sour note I'm currently really struggling with is that some people in the Twitch chat really seem to have a chip on their shoulder about Vi, and are taking every opportunity to take potshots at her character, constantly saying why she's the worst, why she's selfish, why she doesn't really care about her sister, and so on and so forth. I first noticed it in this episode, but I just watched the episode 6 stream on Twitch and it's even worse there. And this is not really anything new - Vi hate has been a mainstay of this fandom ever since show released (I recall even the subreddit needing to have a special 'no Vi hate' rule because it was so ridiculously pervasive) - but with chat on screen it's super hard to ignore while trying to enjoy these reactions, and it's kind of turning what would otherwise be an environment of empathy into a very frustrating experience. I don't really know what anyone can do about it, but if any of those people read this, maybe just try being a little more considerate towards the other people watching with you? You don't have to have the same favorite character as anyone else, but you don't need to twist every situation just to point out again how much you hate them either. It gets exhausting really quickly, and it's been years of this already. Please?
Sorry to be all negative in that comment, I think I just needed to vent a little. I want to add that apart from that, these reactions/analyses are absolutely wonderful. Paying so much attention to the tiniest details is fantastic for a show where the creators also put that much effort into making those details matter. Not many reactors are willing to delve so deep into the characters' personalities and motivations and approach each of them with understanding. More than that, I feel your channel is a space where everyone's needs and issues are valued; the compassionate way in which you ask questions of your audience and discuss your experiences as a therapist feels very validating, for me in particular speaking as someone who usually feels very guilty about the things I struggle with. So thank you for providing that space to people.

Vi makes ONE horrible mistake and they already deem her as """evil""". 🙄 Goodness gracious. What is the point of this show's existence then when that's all they take out of it? They have learned nothing from this show.

Regarding the similarities in looks to Powder and Caitlin, it's interesting in itself how both Jinx and Vi have wildly different reactions to look alikes.
Jinx has been free and presumably able to see lots of people, and a person who looks very different from her sister including shape and eye color re-traumatizes Jinx and she reacts as if the Firelight is a proxy for Vi on hair color alone. How many pink haired girls has she met?
Meanwhile, Vi who's been in a prison cell on an island and therefore sees very few people, but doesn't see the ghosts of her pasts when a closer lookalike approaches (hair and eye color and more believable shape) as either her sister nor her mother. Not even a double take. How many blue haired girls has she met?
I would love a (potential) video about communication patterns 1:48:30. Seeing Ed analyse characters conversations and their power dynamics is so interesting to me.
Unless thats a piece of old retconned lore, or something I haven't heard about. Crows are not related to a god of death. What they are related to in the lore is a demon who made a pact with another countries ruler who then uses the crows it summons as its spies, to see everything going on in runeterra.
They also have some relation to fiddlesticks, but I don’t think that applies here

It’s not league lore, but it is what crows represent in our literature. And you got to admit, spies for a warlord is absolutely something that fits with that.

Not sure I agree with you on the idea of letting people win. Maybe for very small children, but as they get older I don't think it's as healthy.
I have often told my nieces and nephews, "Before the game I am your friend and after the game I am your friend, but during the game I will do my best to beat you."
They know that if they beat me it was because of their own improvement. I am not robbing them of the value of that victory. They never doubt their victories when they finally come.
I will point out how they improved and strategies they might have used to beat me, but in the end I don't want to cheapen any victory they have by having to doubt if they really beat me or if I 'threw' it for them.
I mean I never said to make it easy 😂 But the victories in play for kids matter significantly more in their developmental cycles psychologically than to a “normal” Adult. Getting them to think and improve is wonderful but consistently beating them can be detrimental as well. It’s also not about cheapening their victory but rather allowing them the opportunity to feel empowered to succeed.
Most of the population for kids teens and adults that didn’t meet all their milestones that I work with have come from backgrounds were they never have had the opportunity for a victory. So often times their core schema and cognitive distortions revolve around a learned helplessness approach as they feel defeated by their environment and their life. A small win from time to time can actually be the agents of change that they need to start incrementally changing that belief.
@@psyculturists That makes sense. I can see how the dynamic between a therapist and a loving family member would also factor in. And the kids I am referring to were teens at the time, so they would be more developed as well. I just remember realizing that my parents were going easy on me and feeling like I had no real agency in my seccess. I wanted to make sure I wasn't giving the same feelings of frustration to them.

Have you considered watching Madoka Magica? It has some good character work to deconstruct but it can be a bit emotional at times. Also you should play Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrafice, it’s a game that try’s to depict psychosis in a respectful yet fantastical way well telling a great story.

You talking about Jinx drawing over Vi and people/children drawing their family- you NEED to watch Moral Orel. But do not be deceived by the first two seasons, get all the way through season two AT LEAST, but believe me, after that season 2 finale, you're going to NEED to watch the rest.

@@psyculturists it's about a kid who is in a "normal" family in a town that is all about religion. It has a facade of being your normal adult swim "haha religion causes problems" show, but it goes SOOO much deeper than that. Watch out though because some of it you might not be able to watch on Twitch maybe? Idk their tos, and the claymation people don't have genitalia shown, but there is some... scenes, and there is some triggering stuff, so I would either only do it for UA-cam with warnings, or put warnings on screen during your entire stream for general sensitive/triggering content. If you don't feel like you could prepare your viewers best, I would simply watch it on your own. But it touches on A LOT of trauma and important topics, ESPECIALLY in season 3

@@psyculturistsI definitely am. Arcane is my favorite show and I've been watching reactions and tbh they kind of hurt to watch because of how close the show is to my heart and how much I relate. But watching a psychologist react and actually understand the complexity of the characters and not just calling them evil or swinging to one side of good or bad is so healing for me.
Also for someone who knows of at least two things they want in life and one of them is getting a doctorate in psychology, this is infinitely interesting to watch. One of my favorite parts is the charts and concepts you bring up, they give me a reference and take me back to my highschool AP psychology class and I feel so much passion again. It's a really great reminder of who I am and what I love in a time when things REALLY aren't going great for me and there is a lot of identity confusion and purpose confusion. So yeah, on an intellectual, emotional, and social level, this has been a FEAST for me lol

Hextech bullets is literally the most pointless thing ever. No, that is not a thing and you can't make them. Bullets are made to be discarded as soon as they're fired. Combining them with hextech gems is just a waste of the gems. You don't combine sustainable batteries with bullets.

No, the crows shown in Arcane (at least in season 1 so far) have no lore. They are there as symbolism, mostly for Jinx. They're spitballing farfetched fan theories at you again. Not everything is connected, guys. 🤦♀️
