@David Petroff don’t be a gatekeeper. Anyone can feel nostalgia for anything I, for example, was born more than a decade after _Sonic the Hedgehog_ was originally released, but I still feel nostalgic listening to this soundtrack. You don’t know people’s experiences so you have no right to tell someone they’re not old enough to feel nostalgic for something.
I hit one of the worst depressions of my entire life in high school because I was severely bullied for my stuttering. So badly, that I would refuse to talk. I got back into Sonic because of the nostalgia my sophomore year and I used Sonic as a coping mechanism for my depression. Because Sonic made me think of my happy childhood instead of the pain I was dealing with. I downloaded Sonic on my iPod touch at that time and this song helped me deal with my depression. I will always appreciate the song and Sonic for that.
I’m glad that this song helped you through those hard times, and I hope you are feeling better now! Also, I certainly know what you mean. When I listen to Calamari Inkantation from Splatoon on a bad day, I can go from being stressed, sad, and frustrated to bouncing up and down to the beat.
It was Christmas 1992. My Dad had died 3 years ago and we had just got back from 2 weeks in Hong Kong followed by 2 weeks in Australia, were I had my 6th birthday. As if that wasn't enough excitement, on Christmas Day, Mum showered us with gifts including a Master System for me and a Mega Drive for my sister. That was the beginning of the happiest time of my life. 6-11. Gaming, cartoons, Nickelodeon, football, climbing trees, Power Rangers. It was amazing. And playing Sonic and listening to this on repeat started it. Now life is tough. Very tough. So I look back at those days with tears of pure joy

This shit nearly made me cry man. I remember being 4 years old living in my old home without a problem in my life. Just playing this on my Nintendo DS.
lol im scared, how were you playing this at 4 on your DS? Did you have the really bad GBA port of Sonic 1 and you played it on the original DS that still had GBA port?
I would disagree, since mario has the most known intro music, but sonic has the best soundtracks in all his games, even 06, mario may have created the gaming anthem..but sonic created everyones childhood music...
I remember playing this as a young kid back in 92, 93. I had some stuff I had to deal with recently in my life and for some random reason this song popped in my head and I had to look it up, hearing it now after all these years hit me in a way I wasn't expecting...Things were so simple and innocent when we were youngsters, if only we could go back and make different choices. Hearing this again took me back to a happier and brighter time for just a couple minutes, thanks for posting this up man...
My dad played this game in 1991 with his friend but his friend had cancer and had a heart attack in 2017 and my dad known him since the middle of the 80’s
Sega and Sonic. You, alongside many Nintendo Properties, and Mid 2000's Anime, have made my Childhood. For example, the line "I don't care what lies ahead" gave me faith, even when I was that saggy, lonely, depressed teen. Speaking of being a teen, I always envisioned an Anime where Sonic was on a planet, and had to fight a powerful alien who was trying to invent a time machine to get back to the original timeline, which only needed Sonic's shoes, which at the end of 600-episodes, the alien revealed himself, and was just Eggman who was just doing one of his master plans. I even made a Manga for it, which I quit writing after not having time, also thinking that my writing and drawings were awful, and I ended up only writing 31 chapters, which I still have today. The truly, truly, wonderful games that you've made Sega, alongside these properties, like Sonic Boom and Sonic X are a gift to humanity. You were always being the best you can be. I could type for eleven nights on how you are one of the beams of hope that I have, but all I have to sum it all up with is: Thank you, Sega, and Thank You, Sonic.

THIS is what made him comparable to Mario at the time!
I agree, too.
Xilo Channel He still is comparable to Mario.
@@slumprage_777 ROFL no.
Pearl - Tsukye He is actually. One great example is that Mario’s game come in great quality and lately sonic hasn’t a well received game. In fact, The last good game was Sonic Generations, then everything went downhill.
@@slumprage_777... Then if Mario is still loved and played and not Sonic, how are they comparable ?
The time I realised how Old Sonic Was I was flabbergasted and impressed, it just brings back memories ❤
legendary classic 🔥 💯
One of the most iconic themes in gaming history
The most iconic merry banger if you will.
Ingredients:
4 grams of house music
5 tablespoons of killer melody
3 glasses of low electric bass
1/3 a cup of nostalgia
Soundtrack and game excellence
Oops, I got one of the recipes wrong and made Emerald Hill Zone
That cup is the size of Pacific ocean
I made lost valley cus i lost the list so i mix random
only 1/3 of nostalgia?? i be a fat grandma but cant make this without at least 1 full cup of nostalgia
@@anuragdeshpande657 pacific ocean of tears on lost years

This shit nearly made me cry man. I remember being 4 years old living in my old home without a problem in my life. Just playing this on my Nintendo DS.

Wait Nintendo??

@@zillah9105 You sir are too dangerous to be left alive
lol im scared, how were you playing this at 4 on your DS? Did you have the really bad GBA port of Sonic 1 and you played it on the original DS that still had GBA port?
This is by far on of the most iconic songs in games history
I would disagree, since mario has the most known intro music, but sonic has the best soundtracks in all his games, even 06, mario may have created the gaming anthem..but sonic created everyones childhood music...

BANG ON
I remember playing this as a young kid back in 92, 93.
Felt this heavily. Enjoy your life anon.
15 years later and this is still a bop
My dad played this game in 1991 with his friend but his friend had cancer and had a heart attack in 2017 and my dad known him since the middle of the 80’s
My feeling friend....
I’m so sorry
that escalated faster than sonic

I just love how upbeat and happy this is
