This soundtrack is form of escapism, something that take you somewhere else while at the same time invoking feelings you cant really describe. Its the feeling of being a kid sitting on the backseat of your car during a long ride as your parents drive you home on a highway at night while pretending to be asleep if you look out the window and watch the streetlights, its the feeling of driving in the dark on a endless cliffside road near the ocean, the feeling of going on midnight bus ride alone absolutely nowhere watching lights and street signs flash by, the feeling of being so tired eyes wont stay open and every sound blends together into perfect harmony as you fall asleep, feeling of faint deja Vu listening to old 80s music, feeling of that melancholic when you visit an old place, its watching the sunrise on the city as you catch the fist smells of early morning air. Its the romantic loneliness you feel as one person, living in a small little room in a city of 25 million people.
Finally someone feels strange emotions because of this theme. This theme is like stucking between 2 dimensions and not been able to do something to free yourself
BleedingToast Sim!E essa música me deixava meio depre.Tanto é que eu tirava o som da tv pq era triste pra mim sla, essa música me remete à uma antiga cidade ali que poderia ter sido invadida pela lava . :(
I wasn't born in the 90s sadly but in the early 2000s and was still able to play these masterpieces and I grew up with them and have nostalgia towards then as well!
At that time when you had lost all your lifes you had to start all over again, the same happened to me on Sonic 2 so i can understand your rage. This or when your mom calling you for lunch when you almost finished the game.
Juliano Nascimento Né,essa música é muito triste, pra mim era torturante e eu até tirava o som da tv pra poder jogar kkk eu pensava que ali poderia ser uma cidade que foi extinta graças a lava que deve ter invadido. :(
Me and my Dad used to play this game together. He was probably one of the best Sonic players I've ever met and he always hogged the controller when I wanted to play lol
Yeah but now I think green hill zone is nostalgic but marble zone makes u feel like u are at a beautiful opera or something🤣💖 still both are always my favourite
A feeling that cannot be described. It is like the feeling of the critic in the movie The Chef mouse when he tasted his favorite food that he used to eat when he was young.
This will always be my favorite and most nostalgic theme in Sonic. I could never beat it as a kid, and on the same copy of the game, on my 3DS at 17 years of age, I finally completed this childhood dream
This song is a nostalgic trip into my childhood. I never was a big fan of sonic, but I always played the shit out of it when my brother wasn't home because I wasn't allowed to play his games. I don't have a good relationship with my brother, it's been more than 5 years since I last seen him and I'm not looking forward into seeing him again, but this song makes me think of him when he wasn't such a broken mess of a man he is now. This OST is The song I that comes in my mind everytime I think of vydia soundtracks because it makes me happy and sad at the same time.
I was not around when this game was out, can't experience the nostalgia of sitting infront of a genisis console with the CRT screen, but im sure old enough the experience the nostalgia of playing sonic on mobile around a decade ago
Just hearing the music ticks me off and reminds how many times I started over because of the platforms that went down into the lava and made the fire come up
I dont know the actual lyrics for sure but part of the music makes me think "the boys watch the girls while the girls watch the boys who watch the girls go by"
a música mais marcante do jogo, por eu nunca conseguir passar dessa fase ficava cantarolando ela e acabei gravando na memória quando era pequeno kkkkkkkk
I can still hear the flaming lava shooting up at me.

And the bats

Those damn spike drops
This Zone Really Tests Your Patience And Platforming Skills
Most of my friends hated that but I liked it.
I Completed Dam Zone In a One Try xD
Level designers were very creative on this game and specially this level. When you think you can finally run, another trap or creature!
I couldnt get past it
Fabrice Ascenso kinda destroys the point of “gotta go fast” in a Sonic game.
Sonic 1 always remind me of my grandma. Everytime I spent the night she was always playing this. The good ol day RIP Grandma
Wow I wish my grandma was like yours. I never have anyone to play games with.
Your Grandma was epically cool!!!!!

ya man great childhood :D what a time to be alive!
Without Super Mario Bros., Sonic probably wouldn't have existed. God bless Mario and Sonic!

that running and jumping lava.
that bat and spiky worm
that tricky falling marble
Did you teach it yourself or how did you

i loved the spiky worms lol
And those stabbing chandeliers!
Its truly amazing, reading the comments it seems everyone has got some beautiful memory from their childhood thanks to this game, same here.

Perfectly described
man when i was younger it took me forever to get past this stage
i recently played it again and i beat the whole entire game in an hour
Did you get the good ending?
I can beat Sonic 2 in less than an hour with no game overs after playing it so much. I can do a fucking speedrun of it and nobody would know.
When i was 7, i played the PAL version :/
That's the fun of being a kid brother
I'm a Mario fan,and i can't even pass Green hill XD

Green Hill Zone Theme

Green Hill Zone theme is nostalgic, Marble Zone theme is the only thing that makes the zone good at all.
I like Marble Zone Theme more.

*NOSTALGIA* !
I liked the song
Rather than the stage itself.
Como me gusta esta cancion !
I always liked this song, then I figured out that this stage was one of the hardest ones, confusion occurs.
it will forever bother me that sonic is infront of the banner.
I can legit jam to this

Although I'm not that old and I didn't play much sonic as a kid it's still nostalgic for me

I dont know the actual lyrics for sure but part of the music makes me think "the boys watch the girls while the girls watch the boys who watch the girls go by"
Jeez, that actually sounds correct. That is very interesting.
you’re entirely correct. it was inspired by a song by andy williams in 1967 called ‘music to watch girls by’ and those are the exact lyrics
Essa musica começou a tocar na minha cabeça realmente do nada durante minha aula de informatica, não escuto desde que eu tinha uns 4 anos
Marble zone. 💙☺️
