Brilliant tip mate about going underneath the spade, i have been using the matchmen hooktyer for 30 years, from now on i will always make sure that the line comes from underneath the spade, thanks and tight lines ❤

I thought if line was at back of spade, spade could cut line well playing a fish

Tommy replied: it protects the line and keeps the hook straight, the spade shouldn’t be sharp enough to cut the line, when u tie it from the top you bump too many fish.
