Im happy you did this on a light colored leather. Everyone else does it on black and its harder to see the results. I have a cream colored leather so this helped alot
Thanks for this video Andy, I've been researching a bit about leather cleaning and found out it has a slightly acidic pH of around 3.5-5.5 and have since started the search for cleaners that are pH matched. Leather cleaning is a bit of an art with some deep roots due to horse saddles and having to care for them.
@@wayniac34, that was where my research began however I am located south of the equator in Australia and I'm not certain about international shipping just yet. Thanks for your reply
Shout outs from Madras OR bro. You mentioned you were IDA certified, right on bro . I've been detailing as a side hustle for a couple of years now . Any tips you can give me would be highly appreciated .
Right on man! Biggest thing is have a Learning mentality and that will take you far. Soak up all the knowledge that you can find, then practice practice practice and then go out and learn more.
As I understand it, most leather is actually coated with a plastic substance. So, how does a leather conditioner actually do anything but sit on top of a plastic coating?
If the vehicle is a couple years old lets say atleast 3 years I heard, then most if not all of the seats Top-Coat has been rubbed off by your pants and clothes and also Sun UV exposure. Its what I heard a someone talk about at one point
That's not leather you're cleaning, it's dye and clearcoat plastic, the cleaner and conditioner are never reaching the actual leather. That's why any good APC will work. All the fancy stuff is better on the big dollar cars.

Take one more step and research Colourlock. An OEM ( ISO ) approved leather cleaner mfg. They are now setup in the US.

I bought a brand new 2023 Honda with leather seats last month. How often should I apply any cleaner or "conditioner"? Any tips? Thanks.

What I learned is that the certification doesn't mean shit.
Your right perforated 👍🏿
When you use the magic eraser, how do you know that’s not the leather color coming off rather than dirt? It looks like it’s a close match.
Yes I only use the magic eraser when absolutely necessary it’s very touch and go when you start going that way.
Would it be easier to clean the seats when they’re removed from the vehicle?
I can’t find the product you’re using
What brand is the leather cleaner? Cant find it...
P&S

How are we supposed to trust you when it isn't even real leather?
