SEPULTURA - DESPERATE CRY BASS COVER

- Brushing up on this for two reasons. A planned but not at all in the bag one time re union of my former band Sanity's Void that played this live and will be included in our set should we make it to a stage again and a local tribute night at the local club where by bands can bring to the stage any act they want and a few of us are "Desperate" to do a Sepultura set. :) SO after brushing up on this and examining my tab book, songster tabs and being un easy with what they were saying I started looking at live footage to answer some questions. From my research I discovered this song has been up dated and changed some since it was first recorded. I have taken the older examples and included very little in the way of my own educated guesses in one of two minor places. The Way I ended the song is the way my old band used to end it live. Further proof of how overlooked Paulo is as a bassist . Not overly busy . Yet still utilizes intricate patterns . This bass line reminds quite bit of the style Frank Bello of Anthrax and the style he employs . Whom is my favorite Thrash Metal bassist . On a side note Anthraxs rhythm section is the only thing I enjoy any longer since John Bush departed . They were so much heavier back in the 90s . I digress , really unique style through and through ( Sepultura I mean )..
Paulo was very lucky to be able to be in the band at their prime. He's a good bass playr for sure. The riffs in BTR are not easy.
@@SanitysVoid 💯 , Beneath The Remains is some intricate stuff in my humble opinion . I'm tackling Chaos A.D. material before jumping to that level of playing . I'll take old school Sepultura over this hyper tech death stuff these days . No offense but it all sounds like a giant note salad ( speaking of what is called " metal " lately ) . Nothing beats The Heavy Metal , Thrash Metal and Death Metal of the 80s and 90s !

Been one of my favorite Sepultura songs ever since I first heard it many, many moons ago, off my favorite Sepultura album. Good stuff.

Definitely one of my favorite Sepultura songs. Dig all the chords and the way the rhythm switches from standard to double time and back again in the solo. Fantastic job.
Thanks, it's only that I am stuck with the sub par Chinese bass strings at least till they go dead sounding LOL

I know you're busy as heck with all the stuff you have going on ( as we all do ) and get all kinds of request . However , it would be cool to see you cover a track from Machine Messiah , Sepulturas 2017 record . Honestly it's their very best since Max sadly departed .

I actually had to compromise on the tone. I wanted it more bassy and deeper but it was triggering my CD player into skipping.

@@SanitysVoid that makes no sense, I wear ear protection ever time I'm in a loud enviroment! The fact is that your camera microphone is loosing a lot of the tone

is it 8 rounds of 4 (like a 4/4 and the accent first note of each 4 ?)
to me it sounds like if it was 3 notes each before accent, like a 3/4 right? (sry i dont know about time signatures)
10 rounds of 3....then 2 notes and the third is the accented chord?
