Cuts right through you emotionally doesn't it?! An incredibly powerful song and scene that never fails to get me each time I see it.
Wow, the individual parts were wonderfully sung and the music sound quality amazing! The vocal improvs in the chorus...fantastic!! Wish they had the entire performance available here.
Questo dovrebbe essere l'Inno di tutte le nazioni del pianeta.
Greatest version. ITALIAN has good singers and music.
Greetings from Chile 🇨🇱

AWESOME.............
I know there are the purists here and I also will say that I have never seen Hair, either the movie or play, so I am not one to judge on the content. However, in terms of this song of which I am an avid fan of (particularly The 5th Dimension version), I enjoyed this performance very much and I think it was very well done.
So good
Sono capitato per caso nella vostra pagina e ho guardato questo video curioso della vostra esecuzione..
Complimenti davvero.. Stupenda esibizione, mi sono emozionato..
As far as I see on this video, that show must have been absolutely great. Fantastic performance of that famous hit. But the audience seems to be a bit bored while the singers have given everything to perform this song perfectly and powerful. They just sitting there like old people in a opera house while watching and hearing a Wagner opera. ;)
EXCELENTEEEEEEEEEE
Will done!!!🥰
Bellissimo la prima volta che lo vedo e veramente spettacolare mi viene quasi da piangere saluti da Palermo
Grazie 😉
Bellissimo
For Americans willing to be challenged intellectually and emotionally, we whites and blacks both might see that the black-face is done with total integrity, to represent their story instead of reinventing them as white characters. I have no trouble believing blacks are few to be found in Sardinia, an island, and can't imagine this is overtly racist. How fascinating and what love is shown for the piece, whether you like the movie or not .
Voci meravigliose
Hair !!!! Uno dei più grandi musical della storia! Mi fa piacere che sia io a fare il primo commento. Che dire, ragazzi: siete strepitosi e che voci!!!!!!!!!!!!!

LETRA
Let The Sunshine In
Hair
We starve-look at one another
Short of breath
Walking proudly in our winter coats
Wearing smells from laboratories
Facing a dying nation
Of moving paper fantasies
Listening for the new told lies
With supreme visions of lonely tunes
Somewhere
Inside something there is a rush of greatness
Who knows what stands in front of our lives
I fashion my future on films in space
Silence tells me secretly
Everything
Everything
Manchester England England
Manchester England England
(Eyes look your last)
Across the Atlantic Sea
(Arms take your last embrace)
And I'm a genius genius
(And lips oh you the doors of breath)
I believe in God
(Seal with a righteous kiss)
And I believe that God believes in Claude
(Seal with a righteous kiss)
That's me, that's me, that's me
The rest is silence
The rest is silence
The rest is silence
We starve-look at one another
Short of breath
Walking proudly in our winter coats
Wearing smells from laboratories
Facing a dying nation
Of moving paper fantasies
Listening for the new told lies
With supreme visions of lonely tunes
Singing
Our space songs on a spider web sitar
Life is around you and in you

Let the sunshine
Let the sunshine in
The sunshine in
Let the sunshine
Let the sunshine in
The sunshine in

Let the sunshine in
The sun shine in..
This is awesome. Back in the mid 1990's, I was at a theatrical event and Michael Butler - the original producer of HAIR on Broadway - was there. So, of course, I went up to talk with him. I asked him if he had ever thought of doing a revival of HAIR using the film as its base. He said no. I told him it could work really well since it has a structure to it and the stage version is so loose in structure. He told me the play has a firm structure, I just couldn't. We debated back and forth about this - I knew the movie really well but not the stage version. I am glad to see someone took the chance and did it. I would love to see the full version.
@Withuwwip You are correct, this is the Al Jolson version.
Very good. I'm a black dude and I'm telling you the use of actors portraying black characters is obviously NOT racist. The production is very good guys keep it up. It brings tears to my eyes. I am also an American military member so I truly feel this. The one lady on the left in the afro really makes feel it as wellmlm
@zima04 It's true it follows the movie plot. I usually hate when movie versions of musicals differ from the original, but I think in this case it works perfectly for me. I guess it's because the plot of the movie is more lineal and it's more interesting to follow. Well, that's my opinion, at least.
I love the belt soprano's vibrato
A lot of people just don't understand,....and they never will,...
A song for Treat Williams Claude,
Burger
RIP... Treat Williams
Sempre emozionante risentire questo brano. Complimenti.
Why actors painted black instead of real black?
@ABookwormAndProud That''s standard operating procedure when performing operas and musicals for an audience whose language differs from the language in which the book/libretto is written. Except perhaps at the Metropolitan Opera. I think the rationale is that the audience can still get the "gist" of the singing from the melody, rhythm and rhyme, but the spoken dialogue would be gibberish if not translated.
I know right? I saw that as well.
QUE VOCESSSSSSSSSSSSY MUSICALIZACION EXCELENTE
In fact, this production is deliberately based mainly on the movie version, a masterpiece of Milos Forman ... with only a few references to the original version.
I never liked the theatrical version nor the full and original musical arrangements ...
The authors may not approve, but this was my choice and I must say that I was fully satisfied with the final result!
I´d love to see it... Actually, I have seen (25x) one production based on the movie and it was amazing. Since then, I have seen three more productions in theatres in the Czech Rep. and in Britain and they were complete disasters from my point of view. But some time ago I heard an interview about the production and it is actually very difficult to get rights to be able to play it. There are more owners and not on good terms, so - very difficult to make an agreement. It was allowed to play for only a year and then it had to finish. Not sure anyone will get rights to play the musical any time soon :(.
I am just the opposite. Yes, take a few liberties, but honor the original, otherwise there would be nothing.
Hey man! I'd be VERY interested in grabbing the arrangments of the music for the film versions of the songs if you still have them. Let me know if there's a way I can reach you. Thanks!
They decided to mix theatre and movie versions ;)
I heard this song in English Spanish German and Italian
Interpretazione notevole
It's wrong in so many ways.
Il pubblico lascia a desiderare....io sarei saltato in piedi a saltare e cantare insieme agli attori
What would you have to do to get this crowd on its feet? They laid it down and there they sat. Tough room.
I would love to see Hair in Spanish
I could have definitely done without the blackface BUT the singing was impeccable!
You could have definitely kept half that comment to yourself.
@@danielpruett2717 outed yourself
Paint the black faces to represent a black character, It can not happen here in Brazil on television in the 60s was happening that .... paint the black face to represent a black character and was considered racism, this may not to happen. Hair was a ALL OF FREEDOM film HUMANITY .......
Really, couldn't find any black singers in Italy??
Viking Song theres plenty of black people in Europe moron
This Stage Version is Obviously Taken From The POOR Copy Of The Film. The Audience Were Obviously Unmoved As They Just SAT There. I Was Lucky To See The Stage Show A Number Of Times and YES I even Went Up On The Shaftsbury Stage At The End - I Was Moved ! ! !
hello, please does anybody know if there is any truth to this Hair story, because i heard that it was a real case that someone else went to the vietnam war in place of the real soldier and died there.
I saw the musical in Chicago and 2 other places. In all the productions the man who gives in and joins the army is seen as dead in his friends eyes. The movie changed the story, so I doubt that it was true about the switch.
Amo esta ÓPERA ROCK,mas na representaçao,os negros,as mulheres que cantam e o rapaz con a lápide, sao brancos com suas peles pintadas de negro?
So me respondam isto
Not all of Europe has a lot of black people. I do not think they were ignorant, just cant find black people for this performance. Just and opinion :)

It's maybe a just observation, but in Sardinia is unfortunately very difficult to find black actors and singers... thanks for your comments.
Great! But are those people wearing black faces? OMG!
It's an island without alot of black people on it. It's out of necessity
WTF! This is totally offensive. I get that they want to show diversity, but this is not the way my man...
I would imagine it’s more to do with army camouflage! Why do some people make everything about race???!!! Some people would get offended by their own shadow. Grow up people.

@Withuwwip No that;s silly. You're seeing Italians with "black" make up on. This is in Italy and there arn't very many black people in Italy.
This is definitely not how the storyline goes. It's good, but it follows the movie plot. I'm guessing that someone didn't really do their research on the show cuz if they did they would've known that James Rado and Gerome Ragni(the writers of Hair) never approved of the movie.
Wooooh
Black face? are you kidding?!
Purists will be purists no matter what. The authors being purists I totally understand because it's their creation they should be purists. But saying the movie version is not up to par with the original Broadway production is a garbage argument. Both versions are excellent no need to say more.
Are their people wearing blackface?
its let then the sunshine in and the black actors out apparently
Great acting, great performance, great music!!
But Black Facing? I mean in general it´s just humiliating for people with darker skin. Especially connected with the topic of "Hair" (Freedom, maturity,..etc) It´s totally racism - so that is distracting me here.
they had no black people so they tried giving credit to black folks...it may not look very nice lol but do trust the intentions were not bad
I'm Italian and believe me we don't easily find black people who want to sing or act, it's even hard to find them for professional productions. I don't think this is a professional production and I am sure that blackfaces weren't for a racism issue but because they wanted to give their best interpretation of the American population during the Vietnam War even if they didn't have black actors.
You should go riot in the streets.
Really? Blackface? Thats still acceptable somewhere? What the heck, Italy?
you're way too sensitive. relax, it's a play , not a statement on race. if this upsets so much..., wait til you arrive in the real world, you will crumble!
michornet blackface is and will always be offensive. Hire a black actor.
@@heymegheyy It's military camouflage not blackface.
Me: wow what an amazing performance
*scrolls down to comments*
Me: HOLY SHIT THAT WAS A WHITE GUY OH GOD NO WHY
Great but I don't get why black paint? That part of the song is performed by whom ever can sing it the best not bt two black people. The movie doesn't show who's singing that part of the song. Two Italian women singing that part in their natural skin tone would've been super awesome. Those girls were dynamic.
Because the women who could sing it best were the same ones who sang in the song "white boys", in which they had to be colored!
@@antoniomadeddu6364 nope! Still.have sang all the songs in their natural skin tone or just left the white boys song and the imma ni××× song out of the play alltogether. They had to havea large budget and finances to pull of the movie version..could had found a few olive complexion people somewhere especially in Italy.
They are ACTORS playing CHARACTERS. Get over it whiners.
Blackface isn't a component of acting. It's racism. You cannot play a black character if you're not black.
Who invented _that_ rule? And if that is true then it would also apply to blacks playing non-blacks, Asians playing non-Asians, etc. Or are black characters a special, totally unique category? And if so, why is that? Blacks aren't a fragile, endangered species who have to be handled with kid gloves.
That's something literally everyone agreed on in the early 20th century. It's a fucking given. This isn't how it works.
Robert Malbrough So does this rule that everyone agrees on also apply to blacks playing non-blacks, Asians playing non-Asians, etc. Or are black characters a special, totally unique category?
This common sense approach to casting literally applies to characters of any non-white ethnicity. Unless a script specifically requires a character to be white for the purpose of the story, an actor of any race can be cast. But you cannot cast an actor of another race if a character is explicitly black, asian, latino, etc.
I love this song, but you if don't have any blacks in your country then please just have a cast of your people in their natural skin tone...and black face is not black it is just raciest
Toya Allen You say you love these songs , but obviously do not know the musical Hair ... well you should read the lyrics instead of wasting time doing the moralist and accuse those who do not know about alleged racism , although today the argument seems to be much fashionable!
This is completely wrong on so many levels!!!
Are your opinions, nothing more ...
Well thanks for listing them out for all of us. You fail. On so many levels.
George Berger è morto 24 giorni dopo che sono nato io.
Everything about this production is atrocious. If no black actors are available, then you fucking cut the black characters and their songs out. You don't put actors in black face. The same would go for any production in any other country with such an issue. If I'm in Germany doing Miss Saigon and can't get Asian actors, I'm not gonna slap some prosthetic eye lids on them and try to make them look Asian. And mangling the show to force the film's misguided and infantile story onto it is just plain stupid. Not only is it a violation of copyright, but you're destroying a perfect piece in a silly attempt to replicate an inferior duplicate.
If you do not like it then do not watch it... I have nothing more to say to you, also because your tone overly offensive obviously qualifies you for who you are.
Antonio Madeddu I don't plan on watching it again. The purpose of having a comments section is for people to voice their opinions after having watched a video. I'm doing just that. Do you even realize that altering the show like this is illegal? The only reason the producers weren't slapped with a gigantic and possibly crippling fine is because this sort of thing is never enforced. Secondly, all opinions are relevant and subjective. They are subjective because they are opinions. That's just the way it works. I'm aggressive because the choices made by this production are offensive on multiple levels. The show sounds great, and while I don't care for the choreography it's not bad.
+Robert Malbrough bitch, bitch, bitch.
Don't be a whiny nit-picking bitch. It was an amazing performance. Do you think when Africans do a musical featuring white people, they cut out all whitey's songs?
That's an entirely different matter. This is literally just fucking racism.
Anybody else going to point out the blackface?!?!??? Literally everything else was great but still why??? Why???
tunne ja musiikki joskus kohtaavat, nyt ne tekivät niin.
Using white actors in blackface in this, of all productions, is not only ignorant, but deeply offensive and the complete opposite of the message of this show! It also shows a profound ignorance of the history of the American musical.
Can't find black actors in Sardinia? Bullshit! Ever hear of airplanes in Sardinia?? Fly some in!!
On every level, this production fails miserably. I feel sorry for the actors and am sad for the uninformed audience. Broadway audiences would destroy this garbage!!
so you mean to tell me they didn't know not 1 black person....the black face is not cool
It sounds like an "operatic version" not the "stage version"!
anyone who thinks black face for actors isn’t racist... i suggest watching “broadway the american musical” to get a more complete understanding of the history of black face on stage and in minstrel shows and to understand how deeply rooted in hate and racism black face is. i can understand a lack of black actors, i can’t understand black face and ignoring the racist history of the practice.
Is that blackface? Wrong so wrong
As one of the black community I find this use of black face completely offensive and disappointing. Why couldn't you just fly in black actors from other countries?
I have already answered this question several times ... enough with this issue of "racism," I am not racist ... so read my previous comments!
I’m sure that was in the budget. Right after the unicorns and the cameo from Mr. Spock.
Why they were not used black singers? Blacks do not hesitate in Italy? So why not just use white singers? The makeup of this fake and does not combine with Hair. The musical part is great, sorry for the comments.
blackface? no creo
