For anyone considering building the Fortress sliding sawstop add-on and jig, I can't recommend it enough. I tried so many other solutions and finally built this when he first showed it in a video a couple months ago and it's been bang-on square ever since. Truly saved me from so much agony after a year and a half of fighting the slider.
Walnut is my go to wood. And the accent wood I usually choose is Wenge which gives the black accent but without using paint or stain. This color combo is so classic, warm and luxurious. Great job!
Easily got my thumbs up! No stupid music, got to hear much of the actual sounds of the tools and processes, narrated by a real person instead of PATHETICALLY LAME ai, provided a lot of useful details, and the video is just overall down to earth. Thank you
It is wonderful that you not only explain your process as you work, but you also share the reasoning behind your choices along the way so clearly. Thank you.
I agree. That doesn't mean that I'd do it the same way. Mostly because my shop is so small, it won't accomodate a tablesaw, jointer, etc. I'd have done that bevel by hand;-)
WOW!!! That turned out GORGEOUS!!!! I REALLY love that shimmer in the wood contrasting with the matte black in the river sections.. I bet you it looks AMAZING during sunrise, sipping on coffee, rubbing you big comfy socks on the cross members of the legs during those first chilly moments of the morning, waiting for the heat to warm up the house again..... I don't know what it is about your channel but I can so easily picture myself using your builds when you show them off.... I actually think it has something to do with your voice... it sounds weird, I know.... but I find myself so calm, relaxed, and focused while watching your builds (only pausing to catch my breath from almost seeing you fry yourself..... Scary, but brilliant lol! Thank you for another great project/video. As I have said for a long time, this is the best woodworking channel on UA-cam.

Wow, Great video! Same design only with three instead of four legs and without the top and bottom X bases would make it one of the most beautiful tables out there. It would be more structurally challenging but the aesthetics would go through the roof.

Hi Cory, one week later and your video shows up. Better late than never, right? So glad to see my very favorite cabinet maker back! I agree with those who pointed out to not liking to see the bark being removed from those slabs, as they look much more interesting in terms of texture. Finally I can accept why it's removed because you took the time to explain why! I also agree your videos have indeed a calming effect that comes from your voice and the fact you LOVE what you do. The story telling, the banters - adorably funny you - and before we know it we're presented with another art work, a synthesis of master craftsmanship and sheer beauty. Can't wait to see what you'll bring next! Until then be well and happy. Thank you!

Man you are a genius your videos are a work of art just like your furniture. That idea for cutting the other half of the tenons is great along with the jointer for the bevel makes me want to try thinking out of the box a bit more when I make my furniture
I did a pine tabletop with a propane torch out of some old two by tens, and I didn't want to burn the other side, which means the side that I burnt would simply love to cup for days Starting off with a perfectly flat top, I put in two C channels on the underside and the table only ended up having about a quarter of an inch of flex over 60 inches, not noticeable at all, and is still my table to this day. They REALLY work.
What a great example of you flexing your skill and creativity. Love the legs, love the cord being cut-2x and especially curious of the jointer bevel jig! Great video--I always learn something!

you're cool because you have very high skill. I think when we become adults, we begin to see that skill is what really matters
thank you for sharing your amazing work with us
I appreciate that. That's probably the first time anyone has said "you're cool".
awesome filming and sound
Glad you liked it!
That turned out absolutely beautiful brother, and I do think that that is exactly what I said to you verbatim LOL
Haha thanks dude! I think so too
Oh man, you did a fantastic job!👍🏻👌🏻
I appreciate that!
As you were cutting those tenons off with a router... I was screaming at the screen "why is he using a router to shorten those tenons, its going to...." then it happened. Lol. A simple cut with a hand saw and then finish with a chisel would have done those nicely.
The green blower!!😂😂 there goes my coffee!!
Hahaha thanks for watching
Amazing there is just one tiny thing and it is that you sait Patrons instead of patreons
Yeah, patreon is the website, and patrons are my members
@@FortressFineWoodworks really? I thought its called Patron and patreons
What a beautiful table Cory! I really enjoy watching your work come together! Plus the back ground music is always refreshing! You still make guitars anymore? Thank you for sharing your awesome work! Cheers
I'm glad you're enjoying them! That's the least I could ask for
I'm glad you didn't get hurt from those cord cuts... Maybe it was luck... maybe you have REALLY good breakers.... whatever it was, it saved you from a WORLD OF HURT!!!
Maybe you could learn how to make good repairs to power cords (there should be some good how-to videos available) so you don't have to go around buying new tools (or $50 power cords!!! - who do they think they are?? APPLE?? lol) if it ever happens again... I've done it few times before too.. it's just super easy to get too focuses on the work your doing sometimes. Glad it turned out okay in the end :)
Yeah the breaker popped each time.
I may just fix the cords
First time watching your videos and already learned something new to up my game. I subscribed and will check your other videos out! AMAZING WORK AND AWESOME VIDEO!!
Thanks for subscribing and I hope you enjoy some of my other content!
Great vid! And great end product! I had a question. I'm also in Colorado and I find it very difficult to source wood. Especially baltic birch plywood and other hardwood veneered plywoods. Can you share what company you source your wood from?
I go to Austin hardwoods for that stuff. The slab came from CS Woods
6:36 "and me being me, I said: I didn't know that either"😂
Haha thanks for the laugh
The mini blower is my favor of all your tools. Don't get me wrong, you have a nice shop, but the blower man is the ultimate of all. 😂
It's pretty funny huh? It works surprisingly well too
Absolutely gorgeous and just stunning! My friend I’m in sub for sure!
I'm glad you enjoyed it, thanks for the sub!
THAT... was the daintiest little green leaf blower I've ever seen!!! ;p
Smallest in the world!
Thanks for the video! Seem like half of it is weird youtube culture references I don't understand, though. Still a very clear demonstration and beautiful table .
I guess you're right. I didn't expect everyone to know the references. I'm glad you still enjoyed the video
@@FortressFineWoodworks Haha I'm finding YT to be wacky in that regard. If you had told me 20 years ago that we'd have a bunch of woodworking rockstars, I wouldn't have believed you. But I have to say, referencing other creators is a good way to get noticed and get some collab opportunities. So I think you are doing it right!
Last Unveiling Epic Music !
Glad you liked it!
I never knew Drew had a chocolate brown walnut color in him 🤣
Yah! I guess Drew has a lot of colors!
