    Excellent overview!
I'm wondering how much scaling control you have over a power-point presentation. On the VR3 I have some control but at times cannot scale it enough and move it horizontally and vertically enough to capture ALL the lines of the vide. Im wondering if this version has more scaling power than the VR3-on the computer side...
    TY

For copyrighted materials, run the output through a TBC first. It strips off the SMPTE timecode, where the copyright instruction exists, and then the TBC lays down a new clean timecode without the copyright protection.

I'm looking for a switcher for a high school set-up that will grow, somewhat, as the technology advances (4K) is this a good solution, and are there other switchers I should be looking at?

Hi - "Mix and Match Resolution
The unit features multi-format specifications that allow you to mix sources with different resolutions. Please note that the frame rate/Hz must be the same between the multiple sources, so, for example, you couldn't switch between a PAL source and an NTSC source. The frame rate is selected in the system menu, and your input sources must match that frame rate. As long as your input sources match the selected frame rate, the unit will scale the input signals to match the selected output."
Does that mean all incoming sources must have precisely the same frame rate?
From what I'm seeing in this video it pretty much handles anything and everything you can throw at it!
On the input side I'm planning to use SONYFX1000 cameras which are 1080i, plus a computer w/ powerpoint, and a DVD player.
My computer is USB2 so the output on the stream will be 720P I think.
Plus I want to record to a DVD recorder (HDMI TO SVHS)
    And record to a NINJA
Think that will all work together?
    Excellent overview TY

Some places I've read that USB2 can handle up to 480P and others say it can handle up to 720P.
    Anyone know?

Perhaps I'm too green to understand, but does this unit provide Aux Sends for podcasting, Skype, or similar?

Basically it has a USB out that you can connect to a computer and then stream the video with audio to wherever. If you want to just stream the audio, you are probably better to use the audio (Stereo RCA) out into a computer and feed it up that way.
