Looks very similar to my cooler line input. I have a Mercedes-Benz viano with a leak. What size o'ring is that ?. I'm having trouble finding anything on these parts here in the UK. Seems everyone just replaces the whole unit.
hi, try a hydraulics place, they should have orings. cheers
🍻
cheers
Hey mate, is there a certain way the cooler lines have to go at all? While changing my gear box on a be commy, Ive forgot which way they came, Ive been told it shouldn't matter but need a 3rd person lol cheers for Any advice
hi, i like to make things as best as possible if there is little or no extra effort needed to do that. i agree in most instances it wont matter which way, but bear in mind like hot air rises, so does the hot fluid, so you want to try expose the hot fluid as long as you can in the cooler so the air has time to cool it. hope that makes sense cheers
Hey. Is there a gm part number for the orings and clips? Trying to locate them in Australia 😀
hi, you can contact me via our facebook link in vid description with your car details/rego and parts needed. cheers
Ok quick question the little black cocers that go over this entire assembly are they critical? I got one that goes on but its loose! Any info is greatly appreciated! Thanks
They are just there to prevent the little metal clip from coming out while driving… to the best of my knowledge
Hi Yep,
I'm trying to find an ATF to use in my 2.3 liter 2004 Mazda 3 (not the MazdaSpeed model) with FN4A-EL auto transaxle. The local Mazda dealer says any ATF that meets Mazda spec M-V (that may be a Roman numeral "V", I'm not sure). Easier said than done...
I contacted Castrol here in the States and asked them. They say:
"Castrol does not have a fluid meeting the requirements of this transmission. According to Castrol’s Recommendations Guide, [the recommended fluid] for the 2004 Mazda3 4-cyl is fluid meeting Motorcraft FNR5 ATF with Mazda spec MES MN 117C (ATF M5)."
What ATF do you recommend for this tranny?
Thanks, and Cheers!
hi, in Australia Transmission Fluids need to have the compatible properties...not sure in States. We use and recommend www.tritechlubricants.com/lube-guide/ or www.datateck.com.au/Lube/PenriteAus/ . cheers
@@YepThatsIt Thanks for your reply.
Of course Mazda sell the correct ATF with M-V spec but I'd like something cheaper (not US$10) and maybe full synthetic. Oddly, Castrol Europe sell one like that but Castrol US don't sell it.
There are some ATF that I have found but not well-known brands so I want to stay away.
I think the previous owner used Motorcraft (Ford's brand) M5 ATF. I think they thought that M-V (thinking "V" is a Roman numeral) is the same as M5. It's 3 years later and no noticeable disasters have happened to the tranny.
But I'll keep looking for an ATF I feel good about putting in this car.
Hey! Just saw that Red Line Oil makes a D4 ATF with M-V spec! Kinda spendy but I'm leaning that way...
Cheers!
Hi I am looking for an O-Ring and clip for a Grand Prix GTP 1998 which has a 4T65E-HD transmission

is that the same size o-ring inside that's around the outside top of the connector?
sorry not sure what you mean? but if same size then same size. cheers
@@YepThatsIt thanks for responding! I just redid the quick connector with the brass adapters I used - tightening them - and I had just got the new O-rings in the mail. I don't have a pick though so I couldn't get the old O-ring removed. Also I think I have to remove it from the other side that I already had tightened up with the brass connector. I did a quick connect to 1/4 male to 1/4 female to 5/8 male to 3/8 male barb or something like that. hahaha. The quick connector is OEM though - so the clip has a better fitting compared to Dorman. Now that O-ring has a little nick from trying to remove it. hahaha. I'll keep an eye on that connection but so far so good - the brass was definitely not tight all the way since I didn't want to damage the brass before. Now it's all as tight as possible. thanks - ok since I installed a NEW quick connect then the O-ring should be good for a while. hahaha. It's not directly connected to the transmission - rather it's a Gates hose I put in for an external Magnefine OEM filter from Australia! (these are no longer made in Australia but I wanted the original patent design!) thanks. Oh you just reminded me to push the plastic cap back on - it took me a long time to push the metal line in past the new clip I put in. hahaha.
