I interpreted this video as if RM was always revisiting rooms and failing to live in the present. When he is at a party, his mind is thinking about a future, with a wife and children, which also leads him to think about problems he could face in a relationship as a couple. He tries to go back and find the origins of it (a brief glimpse into his childhood) until finally he finds the answer to it, which is to live in the present moment (The answer is represented in the girl who walks him through the door). With this, he can return to the present, which is symbolized by the corridor that the door he was unable to open before guards. The corridor between the various rooms represents a moment in our lives that, when we enter them, we must enjoy what is inside, not what awaits us in the next room.

My theory is that these are all different events that occurred to him in various timelines of his life: he was a child to his parents, a friend in a group out partying, a boyfriend in a turbulent relationship, and then a husband with a beautiful family. Throughout, he felt like he never fit perfectly into any of these roles. In his journey of self-discovery, he encounters another human, Kim Minha, who is as lost as he is in the maze of societal roles and expectations. However, after they have a conversation on the couch, he realizes that it's not just him; this is the reality for most people, and life is never going to feel perfect. Cut to him being transported to these scenarios again, but now he is happy because knowing he is not alone in the journey makes him appreciate life and its imperfections more. In the end, it feels almost like an enlightenment where he is freed from the shackles of pursuing a perfect life and now understands the true meaning of living. You see him walking through the forbidden door with Kim Minha, both now happy and content.

I saw a theory where it says that the concept of Come Back To Me is “the right person in the wrong place”.
Basically nanjoom put everything together to show us that what is wrong can be fixed.
When he opened the door he was entering the place at the wrong times, the nanjoom who was at the party shouldn't have been there at that family moment, at the time of the fight this nanjoom shouldn't have been there. In the end he manages to discover the right places for each correct version, realizing that what was wrong could be fixed.
I also saw a theory that makes a lot of sense with this one where it says that the girl at the end is actually his daughter, but in the future, if we get a vision of Nanjoom as a child, that would be a vision of his future where the girl grew up.
Him being together with her at the end shows that he managed to enjoy every moment, no matter how difficult it is to deal with the situation in the end we will always find a solution, we see that he managed to open the door he was trying to open before with the girl's help, he managed to realize that before it wasn't the right time, he wanted to escape those situations but there was no point because everything has its time, in the end everything fell into place, and he understood that, he managed to get through the door and finally be able to enjoy his life because every situation now was in the right place at the right time.
Namjoon is pure art, I'm so proud of him and of him showing who he is and his feelings to us.💜

With the amount of hate & negativity that BTS were dealing with & had to go through back then, the entire rapline's music, mixtapes from that time is just full of their anger, frustration & what they couldn't say openly put into rap & music, just like Suga said on Suchwita a lot of complex feelings. But with time, over the years now with their Solo albums you can see the gradual change, more maturity. They aren't angry no more, they are focusing on the type of music they LOVE to do, try new styles & genres and like you said more 'tasteful'🤌🏻 be it Agust D's D-Day which completed the trilogy or Jhope's JITB & HOTS and RM's Indigo & now RPWP (all masterpieces!!🙌🏻)

The instrument was actually a Guitar, with effects! Simple, elegant, and efficient.
But to my theory on the meanings of the MV (and it IS art, so all theories are valid interpretations of the meaning! There are as many ways to interpret it as there is people watching)
The MV feel like what we see in a dream, with a lot of labyrinth corridors, like our mind, where we store our memories and recollections, which are what make us who we are, but also depend on our state of mind. The same party can be remembered as a time when one was well or miserable, depending on how we are feeling and viewing ourselves.
And that feeling is intrinsically linked to the value we give ourselves and the recognition we receive from others.
RM goes from corridor to corridor, experience to experience, trying to find somewhere he can feel relaxed and not out of place, or expected to be something he's not.
The whole tone of the MV changes from the moment he sees Minha, who seems to be either looking for someone or even seem to be in the same state as RM: trying to find.... what are they trying to find?
When he looks for her, he ended up finding... himself and her (who could be interpreted as himself, or his Anima/soul/the other) and she not only recognizes him, but accepts him as he his. It is, after all, "love yourself", accepting oneself. And, as soon as he's able to accept himself, the whole MV changes again to RM being able to experience all of that: Parties, friends, family, relationships in a happy way.
Still, his soul calls him out, again: because life is not on experiences alone, but also in the mystery that lies beyond, and, as soon as he's happy, he's also ready to take the next step, leaving the labyrinth of his "mind" and of stages and "personas", to delve into existence.

If you've read the book 'The Midnight Library' by Matt Haig, [which Namjoon was seen reading in In The Soop Season 2], Namjoon's character mirrors the protagonist. He explores different phases of life filled with regrets as the librarian guides him between doors.
The final scene resembles the bookshelf in the Midnight Library, where each book depicts the regrets of the protagonist Nora Seed.
The protagonist finally realizes that her current life is the best version and lives it without regrets. This is mirrored in the end scene where Joon leaves with Minha (the librarian) and returns to his current life without any regrets.

This song isn’t commercial. I was surprised that it’s fully English though. It’s definitely not your usual Kpop song or whatever. It’s very artistic. I don’t even think calling it a song would be accurate. It’s like a spoken word with a tune or a musical poem. It’s definitely something that makes you think especially with the MV. The depth of it reminds me of the older BTS music.
It’s nice that RM clearly is at a place where he can have creative freedom with his music and not release something that’s commercial or just for a TikTok trend.
Same applies to the rapline’s other albums and V as well. You can see their own personal music style and taste in their albums and as a long term fan. It’s really nice to see. Not everyone is going to like it maybe because it’s not a hype piece but it’s definitely an artistic piece of music.
Sorry for rambling, I just really appreciate how different RM takes his music

Well, RM is not only about making commercial music, tbh. He NEVER were. And, due to the fame BTS has granted him, he's able to work on things he truly believes in, as an artist. And RM, as an artists is very alternative, authorial, quirky... just as BTS was never "your usual kpop" and hardly fitting into the Kpop label, so do all its members, all having their own individuality.
And you're not rambling! It is great to see the boys being able to get to the place of being themselves and having the support they need to express themselves. It's heartwarming and we all feel giddy to talk about it.
As for the song being mostly (though not all) in English, I believe it's because Namjoon thought the language would fit better, there. Plain and simple.
@@Quel_Gontijo yeah I totally agree with you. This song really showed me how far RM and the rest of BTS has come in terms of creative liberty with their music. And I think that’s why it always confused me when kpop fans say BTS ruined KPOP when they were never even really making music that fit into the basic “kpop” mold in the first place. It’s nice to see RM fully step into his “philosophical rapper” era and it’s amusing how these seven guys make bangers and deep songs together while having such differing music tastes. And yeah as you said it’s so nice that they’re at a point where they can make the songs they want to make and they know that they’re people that will support them still.
RM is truly a philosopher that raps, sounded almost like a poem and the video was very cinematic too. Hoping he continues to explore his artistry freely. Also, am i the only one who thinks he kind of embodies Pharrel's vibe? Their voice is so similar too, hoping they colaborate one day 😊
Lee Sung Jin, the MV director, said he and RM shared a lot of stories and came upon a story about a man that was stuck in a house with his PAST, PRESENT AND FUTURE.
Doors have always been very symbolic. The door with the three different colored circles could mean PAST, PRESENT and FUTURE . Triptych architecture in history has also had symbolisms for past, present and future or for harmony like life and death, man and woman, Yin and Yang, the moon and the sun with the middle piece being the connection, our enlightenment, a third eye, a doorway to inner happiness. Also the different colors and lighting keep changing and I believe when they finally go through the door the three colors on the door are red, green and blue and I know RM has mentioned RGB before. He's also mentioned multiverses and reading The Midnight Library (many similarities to this MV). The girl throughout and at the end is "him", it's his anima/animus which he manifests to guide him. It was lost and now that he has found it again or it has come back to him he is able to find peace and live his own life without regret.
Right Place, Wrong Person. It's conceptional. The place isn't wrong but he (we) might feel wrong. The conceptual understanding is that we need to find ourselves, our own happiness to feel right wherever we are.
The director (Lee Sung Jin) directed BEEF on Netflix and the actor you recognized is Joseph Lee he was in BEEF.
Regarding RM's eye, on the first day of filming the MV he hit his head on a camera and needed stiches.
"You’re always a little nervous when you’re working with these giant global superstars. Are they going to want to rehearse? Are they going to take notes? RM was game for everything. He was there for long hours. First take of the very first scene, he bent down and his head hit the camera and it was a giant gash on his eye and immediately I thought, “Oh great, I’m going to be deported immediately because I’ve just scratched this national treasure.” To his credit, he went to the hospital, got stitched up, came back and he was ready to go. He was so versatile and open to direction and I think he was also pushing me. i think the door at the end represents the afterlife. his whole life is represented as a set with past traumas and loves. he leaves the set with his most recent love who completes him and is able to leave thinking his past traumas and loves led him to where he is now and is happy and content.

After watching a few times, I feel like this was about coming back to himself. Like overthinking choices and worst case scenarios. But realizing that whatever path you take could also turn out really great. So basically being present, allowing yourself to have hopes and dreams and not letting fear keep you from moving towards them.

For me , I think it's like the different Stages of Life. When a person is growing. Here as in RM, Namjoon as a person, as a human being is growing in life. You see, the orders are jumbled upon each other but as I see it. It's like 1st NJ being a kid having so many expectations attached to him from his parents, 2nd he is grown-up with a girlfriend, 3rd he is a marriage man . Then there comes a NJ who is looking forwards to go to the next stage of Life. That girl in the end seems like a significance to change. Like she searched for him , but since NJ wasn't ready for all those changes , he is running away from her. Then at the end he accepted the changes and so she held his hand and guided him towards the next stage of change.
So, this is just my interpretation of the MV. I actually not sure what I am saying but hope you understand. 😅

Maybe these are the different phases of his life. From his youth to navigating through each phase of his life. From being a kid trying to find his own thoughts and path . His parents reaction when he didn't respond the way they wanted him to. His future that he may have envisioned with a wife and kid. The fight with the female may represent his struggle to balance everything the choas in his life, the depression, the anger and the confusion he may feel and trying to stay true to himself. That locked door opening at the end may represent him coming to terms with everything and embracing it and moving past the turmoil. That each set represent each step of his journey and how he is navigating through it and being positive. How everything because light. That too shall pass and now the light at the end of the tunnel vibe.

This is my guess based mostly on the title. It's like the multi-verse... all the different paths he could take in life, the life you're supposed to want, lots of friends or the family or the playboy with the model girlfriend... all the right places but he's wrong in all of them. The kid in the crib trying to hide from his parent's hopes and expectations. Then he meets a girl who is like him, not liking any of her choices. The next part where all the possibilities seemed to be going well but he chooses to leave. Maybe it's easy to reject playing out the roles the world expects of you when it's all going to hell but do you have the nerve to leave it when it's good or at least not bad. You're still the wrong person in the right place and it would be easier to just play out the role that's expected of you. I suppose it's easier to ditch that for the unknown if you have someone like you to go with. I'm not completely confident about this guess but it's my first impression.
