Sir this is a good lecture on concept of deception and how to execute it. I have only 2 years badminton experience but have seen many players that execute the deception so well that it becomes difficult to defeat them. Also players competing on international level, every shot of their rally is a deception but the opponents are not deceived by it at all. Please give a lecture on how to not being deceived by deceptive shots.

Coaching Badminton waiting for that video.
I play a few deceptive shots, may be once or twice in a game with same opponents. if I use it frequently, they will read me. So use your special shots when required and don't show off. Personal opinion.
      Thanks coach

Brother Liju KV, keep the variety in the deceptions.
If you are at the end of the court where we make clears, you can execute 3 shots in disguise to clears. Hold the shuttle as long as possible just like the Coach Lee said. Keep one stance before playing the any deceptive shots so that the opponent has to stop and see what you will do next. That is what that will waste their time and definitely you'll earn a point. Hold and then drop, hold and then cross court drop, hold and then do clear.
Similarly when you are at the net, you can execute 4 shots in disguise to net shots. Keep one stance before doing net plays. You can hold and then play flick, hold and play cross court, hold and play clear, hold and play tight spin net shot.
If you practice them well, I can assure you 99%, no one can read your deceptions.
You can also do deceptions in returning service. Just like I said you have to keep a similar stance before every deception. For deceptive return of service, look for the international player Ajay Jayaram. I hope that helps...

Haider Ali thanks. My best deceptive shot is while returning the Service. iNeed to practice more in the back court.

Right. It takes a little time to practice the deceptions well. Then you will notice you have beaten most of your opponents only in deceptions rather than working hard and smashing to get a point.

Choach, Yes, for long wanted you to update on with this as aspect of the game.SO, fast movement on the court becomes prerequisite for preparing the base for god deceptive shots.

Thank you for your kind words on my coaching clips. Let me think about the topic you mentioned. There are a few reasons why, using not right skills, using it too much, using it with out proper warming up are the main reasons. Next time you have to watch out for all of them. Lee
