This put a massive smile on my face! Partly because of the idea that these 2 people are about to have this amazing relationship that started all because she asked him what was in the box
The actor who played Elroy was really authentic and genuine. Like he behaved like a normal person in a normal situation but expressed his character's emotion and isn't that what acting is all about?
I can't imagine any woman approaching a man like this, nowadays... even if this is what I dream of in my best dreams. But the idea of sharing positivity like this is definitely inspiring. Goob job on the short film! :)

@@h.lhemheur1708 Wow, you seem to know a lot about these things. You've made an interesting point with which I once agreed strongly. I used to think that it is the struggles that actually make life meaningful but it is not that easy to out this idea into practice in real life. As I encountered unexpected difficulties in life I lost my will and ability to deal with problems and started questioning everything, which made me more pessimistic about life. I wish I could believe the idea that everything happens for a reason and we're not here for nothing again.
I was hoping that when she went to get into the box to get more Post-it notes at the end, there would actually be a severed head in the box. It really would’ve brought the whole story together.
I tried this today. Going on a highly frequented street and handing over Post Its to complete strangers. It‘s more difficult, than you might expect: 1. Identify something positive about somebody, you honestly want to give compliments about 2. Writing it down on a post it note and delivering it quickly enough before that person is already gone. The reactions were interesting: first, they were mostly sceptical: „who is that? Why is he approaching me? What does he want from me?“ But after just sticking that post it, people began to read and a small smile appeared on their face. This method is good for two things: 1. To identify and focus on the positive things by watching strangers. Besides, it improves your mindfulness and appreciation. 2. To establish connections among people, showing respect and appreciation and abandoning the alienation of modern society.
🥰I used to love paying random people compliments and watching their faces light up. Truth is I was so down and out, suffering from severe depression... It was a difficult time for me. Those little sparks of love and joy really helped get me through some dark days, and made new friends too.
This made me laugh and cry within 6 minutes. You can just be good at what you do. This is effective storytelling. I wish I saw more of this in the films I see in the cinema. A story that wastes no time, clearly didn't cost a fortune, but is well acted and evokes feelings. Well done mate. I'm no film maker but I know what I like and this is it.
This short film is very remarkable. It can be seen in many views of perspective, depends on how you comprehend it and it's parts. I just realized after watching this is that if you don't do anything in that moment, you might miss something that could last forever or give you a good look at life. For example, if Claire wasn't 'nosy' as Elroy wrote, if Claire never approached Elroy, they would never converse(obviously), learn things from each other and actually enjoy life at the moment. It would just all be a normal day at the park. Two strangers, as time flew by, drift away, just like that. But no, something happened, and Claire made it work for the both of them. All you have to do is take a chance, the chance, the risk. You never know where it can get to, what it might be. Life is wonderful and there is so much more to it if you try, and understand it deeper. Predictable things are boring, so why wait when you can learn something new everyday by approaching it, approaching him/her. Everything can change, it's not a matter of faith. You up hold your decisions in life, your choices. So you know, go out there and learn more, live more.
+Ley Williams Well said! The most interesting stories with everyday people are grabbed from the realistic, everyday life in my opinion without fancy and expensive special effects. I often see too many films that have to cover a razor thin story line with a sauce of violent, loud action and special effects that I almost get immune to it now. Short films like this one will stick like a post-it.
This woman, hears something nice about a stranger's now deceased mother, and decides to carry the torch unprompted, reaching out to and inspiring the stranger who was clearly not having the best day. Not many people like that.

There is no way on earth that I can feel the entire roller coaster of emotions in 7 minutes rather than a 2 hour lengthy film. I just discovered short film industry and Its Indeed an Art. What a Phenomenal Director, Gave us a great Message.
The video beautifully describes the effect of social media on real-life, people comment on others even if they don't know them, and most of the time comments are heartbreaking. The writer encourages people to refine their remarks.
Back in 2015 I did something similar to this, first it started as notes scribbled on paper then I found out that post its are an easier way to do it. I wrote a nice message and gave it to a stranger. It's usually on the bus, the train, a park or just walking by. I never said a word other than "This is for you" with a smile. Never really wanted anything in return and I never really talked to any one I gave those notes to, I usually just walked away and never looked back.
I'm definitely closer to his personality. I rarely, like once in a blue moon, initiate conversations with strangers. I'll say hi if I make eye contact to be polite but then keep it moving, lol
Jamila Marr I'm the opposite but that can be a bad thing because I've encounter some very unfriendly people, and other times those who I thought were friendly turn out to be the total opposite. So now I'm the speak and keep it pushing type, that way I can protect myself. lol
Yeah, it's definitely safer. I always laugh when people tell me years later "I was scared of you when I first met you! You're very intimidating. But now that I know you..." those periphery usually only spoke to me out of necessity at first. In class together, work together, etc. Other people just walk up to me and start talking like this girl in the video. But honestly, majority of the people I'm close to are via an introduction by a mutual friend.
This is such an amazing film...now I'm inspired to do this at school!! Best film I've watched in three months! I'm twelve, but I know what I want to do...I want to go to film school and make heartwarming/heartbreaking films. If the director doesn't cry/laugh, the audience doesn't, either! :)
+Isabel Smith Don't go to film school, it's a waste of money. Just start writing/directing shorts with your friends/family and edit and enter the finished products in contests and festivals. Comprise a demo reel. Through hard work and perseverance, you just might make it. I wish you all the best.
While reading the comments I see that a lot of people did not like the ending. Personally, I enjoyed it. After he wrote "nosey" and gave it to her they both laughed. I thought, by them both laughing and walking away, it left it up to you to decide whether it had a good ending or a bad ending. I think this video is great. If I had to rate it I'd give it 10/10.
Marco Sparklez Thanks. I liked the idea of a guy and a girl becoming friends without shoe-horning in a romantic storyline for no reason. We've seen that enough times. It wouldn't serve the story.
this was a brilliant watch, i just stumbled upon this. i absolutely love this. 2023 needed something like this, thank you. formaking it in the first place
I absolutely LOVED this film. I did this as a little game with my ex. He loved it. To bad he left me. I’m gonna do this to strangers like this one day. How fun, open and creative. It would be so nice to just have fun with everyone. Make the day better and show love to everyone!
I really can't belive that strangers people just starting to talk in bus stop and just tell things about their life. And it was so warm and cute that they shared positive vibe and smile. thats cool!!!!
Wow, I love the acting of the two main characters. Felt natural and believable! Especially Elroy. I was soo surprised to see in the end that this was directed by Michael Evans! Same person who directed one of my fave short films, 2 AM Smiling Man. If ever you're reading this Michael Evans, I think your work is great and I'm a newfound fan :)
This was amazing, the ending was so good and emotions started to kick in, I actually noticed (Not sure if this was intended) Clara seemed like Elroy's mother, I mean Clara's personality, when the third guy sat in between them both they were extremely uncomfortable, then Clara turned around and made a positive out of the guy instead of saying "Can you sit somewhere else", Very well done, I would love to see more like these.
The color grading is amazing. The story is so sweet and it kept me wondering how the character would develop even more. I love it. What a refreshing film. Thank you!
Heh..Michael and Diane ..you ever think of going on stage with that...Shorts work well for a senior"s level. This would be popular stage act. something cute and refreshing like this.. You inspire me to write...thanks.
2 strangers had an actual conversation with almost no motivation. How is that Possible? If be sitting there just thinking 'oh cool, a guy with a box' then again I can't do the whole social thing
Try traveling with someone older. It was normal before smart phones. People sometimes think I'm an extrovert even though I'm *really* not. I just had a close friend 30 or so years my senior who was. It can be a learned behavior that opens up a lot of great opportunities. (Intervert doesn't have to mean antisocial....just plan to have some quiet time to recharge afterwards.) 😊👍
You've probably heard it a thousand times before, but I really like this short movie. Simple, but it's nice. Kinda remind people that being nice to others is something doable and doesn't hurt. 😊 Thank you for this work.
Amazing short film, as a young amateur filmmaker I love seeing things like this and realising that I could make something similar with my resources. Also love the way that this is so inspirational!
@ your rare and unlikely urban myth does not reflect statistical reality. cherry picking is a fallacious way to enter a discussion. you have no credibility here.
@ thank you for further evidencing why your personal experience is completely irrelevant to the topic at hand - statistics, as defined by the OPs specification of generic "real world girl" (real, being an objectively verifiable phenomenon), not specific one that your your have created out of a series of events that may or may not have happened..
The film is about Ellroy and Clara' s meet. Ellroy' s mom died, so he went to her place and carried her staffs in a box. He met Clara. She is so curious that she asked him what inside the box. And then the conversation began. When Ellroy talked to Clara, he realized that he want to be nice to people as his mom does, and Clara offer him a opportunity to do it. Together they went around the town and gave people compliment using post-its. The message is if you want to do anything, don't sit and think about it only, stand up and work for it. The film affect me a lot. After seeing this, i am confident to say that i can do everything i want.

actually, after watching this, i think the world will be getting beautiful if people give the others good compliments...
Thank you Clara and Elroy!
This film is super cool. I wish more people would be nice and post nice things about people. 👍👍
OMG! that red-haired girl is so friendly, nice and cute. I hope one day I have the same luck that guy had of finding someone like this this way.
tulio pereira keep hoping (dreaming) haha
This is such an amazing film...now I'm inspired to do this at school!! Best film I've watched in three months! I'm twelve, but I know what I want to do...I want to go to film school and make heartwarming/heartbreaking films. If the director doesn't cry/laugh, the audience doesn't, either! :)
Go for it
+Isabel Smith Don't go to film school, it's a waste of money. Just start writing/directing shorts with your friends/family and edit and enter the finished products in contests and festivals. Comprise a demo reel. Through hard work and perseverance, you just might make it. I wish you all the best.
Marti Crazi K. Good place to start, I'll try iit
Isabel Smith good luck☺💖
Charming, Touching and very funny!!
It would seriously been great if it was a Human head.
They need to have two endings - one with a head
Shaddic D The mom's head
Shaddic D Should have been Gwyneth Paltrows...
or a red stapler and some matches :)
Shaddic D I saw you with the box! WHAT'S IN THE BOX?!!!
***** and for the first time in a movie, the girl is the more open one, or at least in the movies I see
Wow, two people talk to each other at a bus stop, without a smart phone in sight.
Unbelievable in 2019
It was 1919 and not 2019
Phones are bad
You never saw that. Where arę u leaving ?!
You never saw that. Where arę u leaving ?!
Ok boomer

I did this as a little game with my ex. He loved it. To bad he left me.
I’m gonna do this to strangers like this one day. How fun, open and creative. It would be so nice to just have fun with everyone. Make the day better and show love to everyone!

Not only a short film, but an inspiration! Beautiful, loved it!
Also sometimes better comments and loved it 😊
I really can't belive that strangers people just starting to talk in bus stop and just tell things about their life. And it was so warm and cute that they shared positive vibe and smile. thats cool!!!!

@@victormachado8845 Remember anything is possible.
Thank you!
I was watching this and then bam! I saw the district! Lol thats awesome. Im from Vegas and used to live by Green Valley. Im now in Plano near Dallas.
Heh..Michael and Diane ..you ever think of going on stage with that...Shorts work well for a senior"s level. This would be popular stage act. something cute and refreshing like this.. You inspire me to write...thanks.
“What’s in the box?”
**Brad Pitt has entered the chat**
Se7en ? Don't remind me that scene...
“John Doe has the upper hand.”
Simply, the best comment in here
That book she's reading, it is the best book ever
Making other people happy made them happy, beautiful message.
2 strangers had an actual conversation with almost no motivation. How is that Possible? If be sitting there just thinking 'oh cool, a guy with a box' then again I can't do the whole social thing
Abby N That is completely normal although rarely happens when all you do is pull out your smartphone and headphones
Try traveling with someone older.
It was normal before smart phones.
People sometimes think I'm an extrovert even though I'm *really* not.
I just had a close friend 30 or so years my senior who was.
It can be a learned behavior that opens up a lot of great opportunities.
(Intervert doesn't have to mean antisocial....just plan to have some quiet time to recharge afterwards.)
😊👍
In the US this is normal, just have to get out more and see for yourself.
@KillaKommie ForyaMommie this hasn't happened since 1990's
You've probably heard it a thousand times before, but I really like this short movie.
Simple, but it's nice. Kinda remind people that being nice to others is something doable and doesn't hurt. 😊
Thank you for this work.
When i go into the kitchen, and my dad is chopping onions, i cry so much. I miss onions. He was a good puppy
***** no, my dog.
Attention seeker
Carson Lee lol i get it!!
😂😭
One of the best gesture to bring a smile on anyone's face !!!
Amazing short film, as a young amateur filmmaker I love seeing things like this and realising that I could make something similar with my resources. Also love the way that this is so inspirational!
Beautiful storytelling. Imma work my way through every single video this guy has shared on this channel.
I thought that the last Post-it note would say "Nice person"
But then I read "Nosey" and died of laughter :D
Nice to see Shakespeare's Star Wars in the wild!
I really enjoyed your movie!!! It was amazing!!!!
Thank you!
*****
You are very welcome!!!
Finally a short film with an actual story haha
This is a really beautiful and sweet short film! Great job, good aesthetics too 🌼
Thank you for watching!
Thanks. Very uplifting 😊
Glad you enjoyed it!
I'm Late To Watch This..
I DON'T KNOW WHY I'M SMILE. WHILE I'M WATCHING THIS SHORT FILM😍
AYYYEEE HES AN INTROVERT LIKE MEEEEEE
*writes nice shirts*
Me: it's a plain white long sleeve shirt... wuuuuut
Everything was happening like real world until the girl said "hi" first and asked him to sit beside her 🤣😂
Exactly! I would be ignored and if I happened to sit down on the bench she would most likely get up and walk away.
reverse thier positions and she wouldve called him a creep and blown her rape-whistle
@ you must be too handsome or too rich or both
The film is about Ellroy and Clara' s meet. After seeing this, i am confident to say that i can do everything i want.
one of the most inspiring short films i have ever seen! amazing job! great quality, amazing editing! great job!
this girl got waayyyy too much free time in her hand =.=
Be happy for her :3
+Mustafa Hussein a whole day to stick post-its on people you mean.
+Alechandro Pixie Dream Girls always have time on their hands. They are there only for one reason: to further the hero's plot. They can't have other responsibilities.
Finally😂❗A real person😂❗
Thats one of the most beautiful things i ever watched
This was great! Very cinematic. Great work!
