Awesome, 3 things I could not care less about. I'm buying it!
Hahaha yes get it. It sounds amazing
Same here. I'll have mine in a week!
I am keeping mine, i'm old school & it totally fits my vibe! Great video!
Yeah man i think it sounds amazing. And behringer knocked it out of the park on the clone. I wish i didnt hate the membrane pads. The sound is big.
Same here + now with their latest Firmware you can use the knob to browse thru presets :)
It did'nt bother me since i made my own Bank/Patch script in Cubase and Bitwig as soon as i got it in June and used that so i never had to use the membrane buttons unless i do unison or use one of the other features it has in the menues + i already have a favorite Effect setup in my daws that i use on all my synths.
@@Sound.b581 whats the effects chain u use in your daw? I have limited pedal set up so i go chorus into delay into reverb with my monopoly.
@@synthsamuraiproductions Mine is Delay and different reverbs as send effects + Flanger, Phaser and Chorus as direct/Insert effects :)
Basically, if you are not over 55, not into 70's music or didn't grow up with a parent or mentor who explained analog vs digital to you, or, lol, study signals and systems/state- variable filters, vco's, vcf's , transconductance amplifiers, etc., in college, you likely won't have an appreciation for vintage synths or their replicas.
Maybe….. maybe not
Nonsense.
Well... you can buy a Sequential Prophet-5 rev4 instead, pay 10 times the price of a Pro-800 and will still have that beautiful predator screen and no FX at all. But you will get rid of the membrane buttons, of course.
The pro 800 is amazing and sounds incredible. Just not a good first for me. But its the top synth of 2023 for sure
All good points - thanks for sharing! I had the opportunity to work on a Prophet 600 a couple of times recently and this is the first time I've been tempted by a Behringer synth - but having played a Prophet 600 I know what to expect. I can see how this synth might be a bit of a shock to anyone who hasn't had a chance to go hands on before! Thanks again for sharing!!
My pleasure brother! Yeah its just not for me but an awesome sounding synth if thats what u r into. Great price and small.
I love the membrane buttons, reminds me of my washing machine!
Hahahahha they felt nice on the finger but but not nice pushing it multiple times to change a patch. Maybe didnt give it time to break in.
@@synthsamuraiproductions I admit the membrane switches are annoying, pointless and stupid. But I like the synth enough to keep it anyway. Also, this has to be the most unstable synth I've ever owned- the tuning is just whack! Makes for a very organic sound though!
@@lundsweden i wish they made it waterproof. Would be cool to play while scuba diving 🤿 🎹. What other synths u got?
@@synthsamuraiproductions I mostly have plugins now or Behringer monos... and a Kawai K5000 and Alpha Juno.
@@lundsweden oh those are sweet. What you like better the hardware software these days?
my personal comment here. before I buy a synth, I study it through demos, youtube etc. I think too many people these days buy a synth try it out and then send it back. it must take a hit on the company selling it. I think, eventually that practice will end. I have never and never will send a synth back that I don't like, I do my homework. I always get a great deal on the equipment I buy and I buy a lot. just my opinion.
Did my homework tons of it. But sometimes no matter how much homework you do. You fail the test. First synth i ever sent back. So i agree with you 100%.
I never decide whether I like a synth enough to pour a LOT of time into it until after I have spent hours a day for weeks with it. No amount of study or watching demos can replace that. I spent 3 weeks with the Pro 800 and after quite a few hours decided I would NOT make it part of my main setup so why on earth would I keep it? I recently sold a Cobalt 8 after months with it and it just not clicking for me. So, congratulations on keeping a synth even if you do not like it; I guess you win some sort of virtue prize?
I don't usually buy anything from the first run, either. OTOH, if someone wanted to try one of these within the first year of release... you'll have to preorder ASAP. Another issue is "Superpartners"... Behringer only sells thru 1 store in the USA. So, the only way to try their synths in person is to buy it (or spend more on a plane ticket to Indy than the synth costs🤣).
Having said that, this guy's "reasons" given, for sending it back, are all things you would have known without trying it.
@@GizzyDillespee you guys know i am blind and deaf right?
@@synthsamuraiproductions now that explains everything.
With membrane pads I always try and source some clear rubber pads and stick those on. I find the domed ones the best, as they slightly magnify whatever's underneath. The tactile nature of the pads help you locate the buttons also.
Thats a great idea man. I just couldnt get used to them switching them
On the fly.
any pads you could recommend?
At the end of the day, when you pay money for something you have to be happy with it, otherwise it just ends up collecting dust in the corner. With that said, i am not really sure why you bought the Pro-800 in the first place? All of the things that you mentioned that you did not like, were things that were obvious that the Pro-800 either had or did not have, so you would not have had to buy it to find that out.
Yeah i hear you. The FX obviously i knew it was an afterthought that i wish it had. The membrane pad was the ultimate decider i just didnt like the way it felt to change presets on the fly when live jamming. The screen as well was just another afterthought. I never touched an original pro 600 so the membrane was a first. For the price i had to give it a shot. Again it also didnt fit my current set up and workflow.
I sold mine in a few days and got a Prophet-600. I am nostalgic.
Damnnnnn you went for the big boy!!!! How you enjoying it so far?
Loving the honestly, bro I can agree with a lot of what you said.
I don’t know if you ever thought about a DeepMind12. I love my DeepMind12 analog effects up the Ying yang gorgeous synthesizer.
When I first saw the pro 800 right away I thought the same things you did about the membrane and no effects right there with you. 👍🏻🤘🏻
Brother the deepmind was the first synth I was exploring getting. Into this day I still long for the Deepmind desktop so if I can get one for a good price I’m damn gonna pick one up just because I think it’s great SYNTH and also because it was the first one I ever wanted and I never pulled the trigger.
@@synthsamuraiproductions I once had two Deepmind desktops racked & stacked.
3 non-issues, fine, i'm getting it
I highly recommend it
Reverse psychology is working
That's funny.
And illustrates how different is workflow of developers/sound designers and synth inthusiasts/players
Professionals taking every model as it is and clearly understanding it's ups and downs and making their work.
Even modern Rolands which are pain in the a..
Behringer says: it's s faithfull re-creation of Prophet 600.
Original had no fx, membrane buttons and had same display.
So what this about?
I knew the pro 800 had a membrane pad had no effects, and that it had the LCD screen. Of course I knew all that. That doesn’t change the fact that when I got it, I didn’t like the membrane pad. I wished it had effects and the screen annoyed me. It’s crazy to me how people can even think that I didn’t know that it’s kind of weird that the people who watch this couldn’t put two into together that they were things that I didn’t like about it after I used it and actually thought that I didn’t know it had these things to be honest it’s blowing my mind. So after playing it membrane pad was annoying. I wish to head FX and the screen was annoyimg. LFO store. I bought some of your preset banks for my opsix. Surely you didn’t think that I didn’t know this before I bought it right? Hilarious.
Im talking about tendences & approaches.
Not about me & you - so don't take it personal.
@@synthsamuraiproductions
@@LFOstore don’t worry brother I don’t take anything personal. I was mostly talking about all the other comments that along that same line of thinking. They’re probably just all trolls anyways.
But I totally agree on the workflow differences between enthusiast and players compared to sound creator designers. It’s like the guy who makes the hockey skates, and then the guy who uses them to play hockey.
Clever video. Tees up the next video where you buy another and explain why 😀👍
Maybe ill rebuy this again 😂
I sent mine back for different reasons, but I do agree it is a GREAT sounding synth for a ridiculous low price. Plus, Hydrasynth Deluxe with the 3 Korgs = you never need another poly synth ever.
100% agree man. why you send yours back?
@@synthsamuraiproductions coming from modular with continuously variable slopes on VCAs, EGs, and function generators and most of all being able to see where it is set kind of spoils you. Compare to many other synths there is not much down in menus at all, but I still could not get over being bugged by it. I guess I am just a no patch storage monosynth kind of guy...
@@klstayyeah the membrane pad was the biggest annoyance for me.
Not unless you want an authentic analog sound. I have two (49 and Explorer). Although I love them for their digital goodness, the best I could ever coax out of them was the sound of a cheap 90s VA emulation. Except for the envelope speeds, even my Kurzweil K2**s are much better at doing analog!
@@mosspa1 perhaps an investment in a patch collection from someone like Polydata or Synth Universe?
Seems like you did zero research before you bought. I did a lot of research and it is a fantastic machine. Different strokes etc
Did a ton or research. I loved the sound and synth. Just mostly once i touched it, it didnt click. Like seeing a hot chick, then once u date her u are like mehh not what i thought it was. I am glad u loved yours though.
You know sometimes you can watch, read, look forever but once you really get to physically experience something you just dont connect.
Your logic is lets use food as an example. You hear about a dish, u read about a dish, you watch the dish be made, you hear others rav about the dish… then u actually get to eat it and you dont like the taste… then the guy next you says man seems like u did zero research on this dish how do you not like it. Thats wack logic bruv. But not everyone can logic 🤷♂️
I have no complaints whatsoever about the synth, it does exactly what I expected and more and can live with all the 80s hangovers no probs.
@@maccagrabme the 80s were awesome. Damn maybe i should have kept it lol.
@@synthsamuraiproductions I was using your reasons not to keep which according to you were deal breakers. They were no fx (surely your extensive research told you this?) and ‘predator’ screen (again, extensive research?).
@@moonsovermiami101 membrane was the deal breaker others were afterthoughts. Membrane not sensitive enough for my taste👅 sounds amazing. Fx and predator screen were just things i wish were different after thinking about it. What synths do u have in ur set up ?
I hope you gave it a fair chance first, when i first got mine i thought 'why have i wasted my money on this?' But after a few weeks and making a bunch of my own patches, i couldn't be without it.
I actually don't think I did. I kinda have returners remorse laugh. so I might re buy later and give it a shot. I loved the sound.
I use my Pro 1 a lot . No presets but that's why I commit to whatever sequence I'm starting and then it goes to DAW. It is set in stone. I have to work with that.
Thats a good system. I never use a daw. If i did i would probably use that method
The Pro 1 is one of Behringer's best clones IMO
@@lundsweden yeah people seem to love the pro-1.
Superb show man. Cant wait to have a Monstersynth like your hydra. The summit, polybrute, rev 2 or Jupiter x are on my list. Andyes you have to detox from it now and then. Thats why i love walking in the forrest of Holland with my dogs.
Oh man those all all beauties!! On
My list too!! Those are saver synths will take a while to get another lol. Yeah man gotta balance the TRON with the nature man.
@@synthsamuraiproductions haahha nice way of wording things. I wont rule out the white Opsix tho. Much love to Canada. Forever synthesia! Keep those vids coming!
Yeah some good points here. Even though I've owned plenty of synths with LED displays, I never really liked 'em. Even the DX7's screen is better, that was 40 years ago! The membrane pad ain't the best, sure I'd like built in FX but I care more about the basic tone. I love the grittiness of the filter, its very unique IMO. I think one of these would go well with a digital synth, they'd contrast well.
I have to say i loved the sound on the pro 800. Just the membrane and most of all it wasnt fitting in with my workflow jam style. Built in fx was just an afterthought i mean they have all their mixers outfitted with digital fx for like 100 bucks a mixer. Would have been cool to just have a little reverb like on the Behringer 2600. I mean i knew it didnt but just a thought. I should have said 1 reason i sent back and 2 upgrades lol:
You have to have known about these aspects before you bought it though right?
Yes lol i knew about all these. But after i got it and played it it just didnt jive. I feel like the membrane pad was the real issue other 2 points fx and screen i just wish behringer upgraded it as an after thought. Lol 😂 but now i have returners remose and may buy it again. 🤦♂️ feel i may not have given it enough of a chance
@@synthsamuraiproductions Get one for each channel this time and do a video
@davlippo7 damn u just see the behringer enigma??
One more thing --- that is not a SCREEN. That is a 7 segment 4 digit LED display, either common anode or cathode. You may thnk I am nitpicking but these seemingly minor details are actually quite important. In this case we know that the logic driving the display is extremely primitive and probably only serves ONE purpose. Now then ... kindly tell us what pedals you have. 🙂
Lol thats actual very helpful
Info. My pedals: Digitech Polara (reverb) Obscura (delay) Nautila (cho/flan) and the Hologram Microcosm. Really want to get the get CBA Generation Loss MK2. What pedals do u have?
@@synthsamuraiproductions excellent choices!! I have the Polara and Nautila as well as an old Cooper Pedals Generation Loss MK2, before he teamed up with Chase Bliss. I have a lot of Electro-Harmonix, JHS, Earthquaker Devices, Mr Black and Idiot Box pedals as well. I also build pedals -- I just completed a prototype for an octave fuzz and I plan on building 6 more of them and selling them. 👍
@@HazeAnderson thats awesome brother. You got website for your pedals or anything?
@@synthsamuraiproductions my UA-cam channel right here. :)
People like this dont deserve this synth, 16 VCO but he wants EFX... good god
😂
Thats why i returned it so a more “deserving” mortal could wield is raw analogue dry power. Appreciate the love and hate equally brother. Appreciate you taking the time to watch the show.
Oh yeah I have a Meris Mercury X waiting for it which is insane on my double instance of miniFreak audio input in from Oberheim mono out layered over the stereo Oberheim second instance playing thru the Meris MX. The Freak uses one OSC to process the audio in and it's a double layer of goodness only the gods have the rights to.
i loved my jupiter8, no fx...
No fx was a weak complaint of mine. It was the membrane that drove me insane. Insane in the membrane..
I like the way you are being you, Sammy ! 😎👍
Appreciate it brother! Thanks for checking out the show.
I have the Hydrasynth Desktop and the Pro-800. They play well together. Clones of vintage gear aren't for everyone. You will be able to get analog-like sounds out of the Hydrasynth (patch B045 is solid, for example).
Awesome man! Have you bought any sound packs for the hydra? Recommend? Gonna check that patch out tonight. I got a monopoly model d and neutron as well i need to get back in the mix
@@synthsamuraiproductions I have not bought packs for the Hydra, since there are so very many presets already. I am going to focus on sound design with it a bit later this year. I did buy a sound pack for the Pro-800, which has a lot of retro sounds. It is a great polyphonic analog synth, but it is limited in what it can deliver and its interface is based on a 70s UI. I like it, but I understand why it will not gel with other people.
I use the Pro 800 through the MPC, so the patches are aptly named, I switch them quickly without membrane knobs even with the appropriate FX settings in the MPC or rack (effects with patch storage). I also use a similar setup with Hydrasynth and Peak. The speed for me is in the ability to save patches, which I miss a bit on my Crave and a lot on my Poly-D, DFAM and Subharmonicon. I prefer analog tuning under digital patch management, even if it doesn't always work, but it does with the Pro 800.
Thats a sweet way to do it. I was gonna grab an mpc been looking for the right price. Now the mpc keys has peaked my interest
Hey Samurai. Just found your page. I clicked for exactly what I expected you to talk about. I have to agree with all your honest opinions on the Pro-800. My biggest issue would have to be the membrane. I'm afraid of its quality and longevity. I've dealt with membrane electronics dating back to the early 80s. If you do not handle them well, they do get messed up. The effects I can live without since I'm loaded with pedals and rack effects. I will still buy the Pro-800 only to satisfy that Sequential sound pallet that I love and am missing for my setup. I appreciate your honesty and for that I just became a sub. Thanks for your video. 👍👍👍👍👍
Awesome welcome to the channel brother. I am really happy you enjoy the show and I have to tell you I love the sound of the pro 800 just those membrane pads man but you never know down the road. I might try to pick one up again used but for now just doesn’t fit my set up the effects I got some petals too but I was just thinking about it and all the other synthesizers in my set up Have effects and it just makes it simpler and faster for my live jam set up. If you go back and check out some of the songs I did on my Sunday night jams you can check out my my playing style workflow anyways man glad to have you part of the samurai nation. Let’s go baby.
@synthsamurairadio I got you and thanks.
I bought it a while ago, and i am happy with it. I use VST and Hardware FX... so no problem with that. I also use an VST-Editor inside my DAW for changing presets on the fly. I not really can understand your reasons. At the end.. i don´t touch any buttons or knobs on that synth.. i use my mouse and my computer to control that beautiful synth.
Yeah i would have to go back into about a 100+ videos ago and watch my live jams it would make more sense then. I am a live jammer not a sound designer / sound person track builder. My work flow is jam live record it all on the fly then done.
Did you get the brand new update that fixed all the bugs? I know more people both online and personal that have had problems with it, and they wrothr behringer and behringer made an Update that fixed those bugs and they are happy again 🎉
No i didnt. But i think Behringer is the most responsive company out today to its customers wants and needs. I absolutely love it. I may have to give it another chance in the future. Did u pick one up?
I think the last two aren't fair regarding the price. I mean you wouldn't say that if you buy a Jupiter 8 for 20K, though..no fx and just a predator screen:)))))). With the pro800 you get an analog polysynth for 400 bucks...thats ridiculous. You buy it if you need that specific analog pad and bass sounds....if the sound isn't for you, you have a good reason to say ciao to it
Great points brother. Its an amazing synth for $400 thats for sure. 20k imagine spending that on a synth woooowee
Or two, one each channel and you infinitly double the pleasures with separate units on each side or 16 voices on each side. HOLY CRAP! & for only $800!
I really thought I needed the Pro 800 when it was introduced, but since in the meantime I bought the DeepMind desktop, I feel like it would be redundant. Oh well. I'm still a happy camper!
I think u made a really great choice with the deepmind desktop. Can do way more.
I'm thinking of buying a Pro 800, not sure now, how is the Deepmind desktop?
@@DisciplinedCommotion so here’s my opinion. The pro 800 is an amazing synthesizer sound wise. It’s super true to the original and it’s an awesome clone in a very small form factor so if you’re looking for a really huge sound and then something that will go in your studio and not take up much space this synth is for you. On the other hand if you also want a synthesizer that doesn’t take up much space and has a lot of versatility the deep mind desktop is amazing. It’s got 12 voices tons of modulation great sequencer, easy to use interface. It’s very deep hence the name deepmind. If I had to choose, I would go deep mind it is $200 more I think but again for $400 and a pure analog 8 voice synthesizer it’s hard to beat. But if you put a gun to my head and told me to choose the Deepmind or the pro 800 I would pick the Deepmind. Here is a demo video of the pro 800 sounds if you want to check it out I did a month ago. @@synthsamuraiproductions cheers i will check it out
@@DisciplinedCommotion Yeah, personally I love the DeepMind, but if you just need some analog voices without bells and whistles (like the effects that the DM has) you could save some money and go with the Pro 800.
I have no idea why Behringer went for the membrane pad. Yes it's on the original but it's NOT GOOD on the original. Out of all the things that aren't "like the original" this is the one people would never complain about if it was replaced with something else.
I know man. I guess its super true to the clone. The more I think about it, they should release the pro 800 as their own SYNTH with a different name improved on the screen. Membrane pad added some effects, and they would’ve had an awesome eight voice analog poly synthesizer the people would’ve loved. But the pro 800 is an amazing synthesizer.
Im just finding you, my first thought is you would like the ultranova. The vst lets you build presets in a beautiful way. I love the thing. It was one of the better decisions I have made, I bought it new from a crazy postal worker from the north pole ( serious not at all joking) he ended up buying another, which I saw listed a few months later so maybe it is not for everyone but gear acquisition syndrome aside this thing is a hard hitter.
Whats up brother ! Welcome to samurai nation!!! Never heard of the ultranova. Im gonna check it out. Postal worker from the north pole thats wild! GAS ⛽️ is wild in 2024 so many products.
If they only built it with keys like on the RD-9, I would likely have bought one. Maybe they will make a "special edition".
Don't mind no FX, or the LEDs.
I really like the stuff Dave Smith designed. The man was a genius. My favourite of all his synths has got to be The Evolver. I recommend that you take a look, if you haven't already. The mono version is crazy good, and I always thought that the poly version would be too much or too overpowering if you know what I mean, but I've seen a couple of people using it that have changed my mind. If i could go back a few years I would make the right decision and bought one when I could.
I'm hoping that Behringer are "inspired" enough to make a clone or something very similar.
I have the Evolver Desktop and the MoPho and think both are brilliant. I still think it was amazing that he produced them at such low cost. I got them both new - the Evolver was 450 and the MoPho 250 (UK). These machines are absolute modulation beasts, but the Evolver is something special. The only thing that might put you of is the low resolution of the encoders. The actual circuitry is fine, nice and smooth and high resolution control surfaces are great, but the bog standard ones do suck. I guess that it could be modded with pots thinking about it? I'll have to investigate now!
Cheers!
Wait wait wait. Are you in Canada? Did you post it on kijjii and facebook market?
Nah brother. From Canada now living in the 🇺🇸. Had to move to a free country lol. Didnt want to get thrown in a camp 🏕️ for my choices. I bought it from Sweetwater and then I just sent it back for a refund. They’ve got a great refund policy where you pretty much get 30 days to try at your synthesizer and if you don’t like it for any reason they give you a full refund -$10 shipping so great company. But if you are looking at picking one up, it’s an awesome sounding synthesizer I would recommend it to anybody just make sure you completely understand that it is exactly like the original in a small form factor. And if you don’t mind membrane buttons, go for it.
@@synthsamuraiproductions Welcome to the USA then. Shame what is happening to Canada but then again, what happens when you put someone else's monarch on all your money? But still, putting people into camps for returning synths is just not right.😏I keep it real FOR REAL but I still HAVE to enjoy this lifetime.

Didn’t hear anything bad about the sound, just the form factor so I can say after watching this I’m still considering one.
The sound is amazing and blew me away brother. I think if you are considering getting one go for it. It was really only the membrane pads that turn me off because I like to live jam. The FX and the screen were just after thoughts that’s all so the sound is absolutely epic. I did a video demo on the sound. You can go check that out but yeah I’d go for it. I think Behringer knocked at the park as far as cloning it.
I see comments, about not researching, but why not return it if you don’t vibe with it? Sweetwater doesn’t hassle you for it. They help you get what you want/need. I do love the hydrasynth… I have been playing the take5 alot at the synth shop too… I am gonna need time between the two to make a good decision, but having one analog synth is never a bad idea.
Exactly man. What do u like not like about the take 5 vs hydrasynth.
@@synthsamuraiproductions they are both really intuitive. The take 5 sounds beefy… and the knobs have a good tension to them. It’s more about what I currently have. I have an mpc key 61 currently. Thats digital/ sampling/ will expand eventually with more mpc plugins. I do like what they hydrasynth has especially the ribbon and poly aftertouch… but i have mono aftertouch and can program midi in my daw…. I would have both synths if i could

My plan is to wait and hope the price on this synth drops like the K-2, WASP and others have ... and buy a brand new next year or so. Take care of those membrane pads because they will last, but they will also deteriorate (keep them out of the sun).
Damn membrane pads. Who would have thought they would make me insane. Sound on this synth is awesome though i agree.
Insane in the membrane! Insane in the PAD! 😆

@@synthsamuraiproductions no idea at all ... I think I just completed my studio with the Solina. I snagged a demo unit from Sweetwater last week. 👍
I'm with you on digital with effects per patch. You just get too many more options with digitall. Also if those knobs are the small ones, that's a deal killer. I want the hardware to feel as big as the sound. I bought those Roland boutiques and absolutely hated them. The travel time on small knobs and sliders suck. But I'm hoping the pro 16 will be more FS.
Go checkout out daniel fishers pro 800 x 2 demo with each one panned full left and full right. Its pretty awesome
The knobs are a bit bigger than the roland boutiques but not minimoog big. Man hydrasynth is my favorite these days
Sounds like you bought a clone of a Prophet 600 and wanted something more like Deepmind, Minilogue.
The membrane pad on the original is even MUCH WORSER and breaks super easy/hard to repair.
This one sounds almost as good and probably has less stepping, better envelopes none of the issues the original has,
It's an insane good deal for the money, If you are looking for a synth like this ... where you dial patches, but luckely not much parameters :)
Yeah i have to say for the money this synth is very very hard to beat. Sounds awesome. And take up such low real estate in studio. Did u see daniel fishers pro800 x 2 both full panned left and right on sweetwater page? Its awesome

@@user-mr6xp6nk7q part of me wishes they didnt do a clone on this one and just used whats under hood, no membrane pads, better screen and patch saving and added a few effects. Better sequencers lol a man can dream. I think Beheringer can pivot now to their own line of products. I do thoroughly enjoy the anger created by the clones though 😂
Yeah but 8 voice true analog for $400 compared to my Deckard's for $4,000 and Oberheim OB-X8m it's super cheap as dirt and I have two on the way, (1) for each channel. Well see if I send them back.
The two channel, Sweetwater, Daniel Fisher video where he panned one to the left and panned one to the right with two pro 800 was absolutely extraordinary and made me want to buy two of them
@@synthsamuraiproductions Yeah I wanted to try that as my Oberheim is stereo but like he said not actually independent modules or set to unison for 16 voices on each side. But yeah the interfacing is old school so in the studio it's fine but not so much on stage.
i also sold it last week. Having a REV2-16 it has no sense to own it.
Man the rev2-16 voice is a beast. Hard to beat that synth. Appreciate you watching.
So presumably you got the Pro800 before the Rev2?
Yes
@leftmono1016 dont have the rev 2 returned the pro 800 and bought a hydrasynth deluxe

dont like the screen dont like that doesnt have fx but im stilll tempted to buy one even though i just got the hydrasynth explorer!
Its sounds awesome!! Best synth of 2023 my opinion. Price/sound ratio
Those are the reasons? Seriously? AHAHAHAHAHAAAA!!! Imagine you using a minimoog.
Lol imagine….i would never pay $5000 for a monosynth… u think i am crazy…. really the membrane pads are the reason. Other 2 just fillers to make a video 😂. I have returners remorse so ill buy it again.
i pretty much figured i'd dislike the same things ya mentioned
Wanted to keep it but just couldnt knew it would gather dust
@@synthsamuraiproductions if I’m not using a piece of gear ⚙️ it must go to a better home
I was too cautious about MFB Synth Pro... And finally... I've didn't ordered it. Now i regret. A lot. Even counting all it's cons it seems now that it's a great and very compact synth with huge and unique feature set that even some (most of) expensive analog synthesizers doesn't offer to you.
Now I'm thinking... What if I'll wait too much and will not buy Pro 800 finally. Even according to it's limited (compared to Synth Pro) feature set it still sounds great! No multitimbrality - it's my only biggest complaint. But... For this price I guess it's ok.
I must say the sound on this with 8 voices and compact you cant beat it at 399$ usd thats a crazy deal so much analogue sound!! I almost regret sending it back lol.
Got a Nord Lead 4 instead. The analog poly stuff is not for me.. Pro-1 is though.
Yeah people love the pro-1!!! Cheap too.
@@synthsamuraiproductions Had it for two or three years and is what I use along with Bass Station II for mono after getting rid of vintage stuff.

Your Sweetwater rep was 100% correct. Every reason you sent the Pro 800 back was obvious from just looking at it and reading the specs. And the primary reason anyone would want the Pro 800 is the analog sound on the cheap. Besides, the Pro 800 isn't a primary synth. I'd think most people who buy this are just adding additional sounds options to their collection of synths. I don't think it was your intention but you come off as ditzy in this video.
Lol ditzy? Whats ditzy?

Aint that the truth. Sounded amazing though for $400
Try to use the "you know" interjection a bit less (or not at all). It's sufficiently distracting that I had to stop listening to this video while at work.

Props to you for not pretending that vintage, or replicas of such, is for you. I think there is too much of that on YT, where people religiously revere old tech on principle. The old tech was a new tech when it came out - that was then, this is now - new purchases need to fit into existing ecosystem and workflow. I had a chance to buy SH-101 for really good price - I didn't. I got MS-1 instead. Same with DFAM - I will be getting Edge instead. The sound in both cases didn't carry enough weight for me to override the lack of MIDI.
IMO you should record more 😀👍
Thanks brother. Try to be honest. I love all gear nothing wrong with being real about your thoughts either. There is alot of “never speak your mind” about gear on the tube. I am very interested in the crave - edge- spice combo at the price point. I think that would be a cool set up to replace the mother 32 dfam and subharmonicon. Put it in a nice custom rack. I also reallly like the behringer 2600 blue meanie. Great points about the old tech was once new tech. Again pro 800 awesome sound i just didnt connect with it and it was lost in my ecosystem.
That's so true. Years ago I splurged on a full vintage Roland semi modular (System 100) and Moog Micromoog, but then I realised it would be very expensive to MIDI it up. I have never bought a pre MIDI synth since, too much of a pain in the butt!
@@lundsweden- midi to Cv converter 👍
Simple.
this thing is a gem amazing synth for the price sounds great, its true you dont deserve it hehe thumbs down
Its an amazing synth for sure. Just rebought 2 of them. 👍
I can’t remember anyone asking for a P600, or a Toro or Solina. Definitely not those Micros. They’re pushing out basic gear, whilst teasing decent gear for 5 years. It creates the illusion that exists, whilst the reality is different.
The ARP, Boog & DM were good. But since… and the Midas guys who done DM have long gone. When the UB lands, people will lose their minds, but then quickly realise it’s basic. Like basic basic.
I applaud them for rinsing the synth market for rose tinted memories. They deserve what they get imo. Whilst innovation happens elsewhere, I’ll reward that and not old tat that wasn’t wanted even back then 😅
Preach my brother. Behringer is the king of marketing thats for sure.

WOW... that's pretty weaksauce reasons to actually send a synth back. The two analog synths you have (monopoly and model D) don't even have a screen LOL. But the red screen that tells you what preset you're on bothers you? Not switching presets fast enough with the membrane buttons? How quickly do you need to switch presets or go into the menu? Again, the two behringer synths you kept don't even have presets. And your 3rd point... no built in FX... again neither do your other two Behringers. Maybe you sent the wrong one back. Especially since the other two are both mono synths. Those are some dumb ass reasons for sending a synth back. The pro800 I think is their best synth right now. No Terminator or Bladerunner sounds for you I guess. Maybe do some throwback Prodigy or Fatboy Slim sounds on your digital synths.
Lol i am actually having returners remorse. I agree they are weak reasons brother. But i just couldnt deal with membrane pads.
