hello! thank you for clicking on this video, it means a lot to me- as you can see from the title, this is my newest solo masterpiece layout, twilight! i worked extremely hard on it and want to say a few words here in a pastebin i linked above (as the original description i wrote was too long for youtube) about what type of layout is, my mindset behind it, and some other things i want to mention. i want to ask you earnestly to please read this pastebin entirely before forming your opinion on this layout, as well as before you ask any questions about it in the comments- the pastebin should get you in the mindset of how to perceive this work as it is not a traditional one, as well as answer any questions that you may have. that being said, if there are things left unanswered that you want to comment about, feel free! also, i feel like i should also mention that the decision to include clicks in this video was because of the absurd click patterns and rhythms that are present in this layout. the day after I upload this there will be a video of this recording without the clicks if you think they are annoying to listen to, but you will be able to see how weird the layout looks without them if you do go check that out. you can find the link for that video without clicks further down in the description.
also, yes, this is a reupload! i uploaded a similar showcase yesterday which some of you might be aware of without knowing about some issues in the sync with the clicks/footage cuts, so i took down the video mid-premiere and fixed it up for today. sorry about that!
also, i am aware that a large portion of those viewing this video may not be used to or may not enjoy this type of music, and thats totally fine! this is however one of my favorite songs of all time, and i seriously enjoy this style of progressive metal with screams and such. i can understand why you all might not like it and its fine if you dont want to watch the layout because of that, but please do not hate on me for enjoying this type of music. thanks :)
i also want to quickly clarify that any sync discrepancies in this video with the clicks relating to the music or cut issues are purely because of flaws in the botted runs and not because of the levels lack of sync. it is virtually impossible to get a perfectly accurate run with perfect clicks, especially because of the numerous issues i faced with preserving the sync in this layout, so please understand that and take that into consideration when watching. in that vein, i do want to give you all a serious word of warning if you feel like making a layout like this yourself- i speedhacked this gameplay to make the clicks absolutely perfect, and when you make gameplay down to the frame sync-wise like i did, there are a ridiculous amount of layout-breaking issues that you will run into. geometry dash is an awfully made game for this level of rhythm-based execution, and i can only describe trying to work around the nonsensical and somewhat unsolvable problems you will encounter as torture. because of this, i will never make a layout like this again. so, do what you will with that information, and while that isnt to discourage you, take that into consideration when thinking about attempting a layout similar to this one.

This is quite possibly the most impressive layout that I've ever seen in GD, at least from a visual point of view. Absolutely stunning!

An open letter to Norkbork regarding this level:
From both a conceptual and technical standpoint, this level is a masterpiece. You have achieved your goal: To create a physical manifestation of the song in gameplay form. When you listen to a song and imagine it as a level, it is in it’s purest state; the trouble is effectively translating this mental image of the level into gameplay form. You have done this nearly flawlessly. You said it yourself - the gameplay itself, and how it plays, is irrelevant, as long as it represents the audio as best as it possibly can. The best levels of this variety are able to intertwine the music and visuals so deeply that they are interchangeable. Given one, gameplay or music, you should be able to envision the other. No other levels have been able to do this so well, except perhaps the famous Space Invaders layout by Ricky Hawkyard, which you should definitely check out if you’re into this kind of thing. From the moment I joined the Geometry Dash community, making a level like this has always been my goal. I hope one day I can create a layout as pure as this one.

honestly the first ship is exactly the kind of ship gameplay that should be normalized:

I love the approach you took to this level, and I hope this style of music and creating is seen in gd more. I can’t speak on how fun the gameplay is since it’s way out of my skill range, but hopefully it’s just as fun as it seems to me. Very well done, I hope this gets finished and rated. :)

Even excluding the point of view this level was made from, it still looks like a blast to play (assuming your finger doesn’t die in the process of course), and then you add the genius point of view on top of that and you’ve got a masterpiece. Amazing.

It might not seem like it at first but this layout is incredibly unique compared to other spam based levels in the game, I would love to see this decorated as I think it can really be something special!
Holy hell this looks fun to play if it was balanced, i know it is not your intent for it to be, but if it was it could be SS+ tier as a top 20 or so. I hope this either gets decorated or gets released publicly, though i do understand why you wouldnt want that.

Bruh i'm so glad I found this, Periphery is one of my all time favorite bands I was not expecting djent/prog metal to be used in a geometry dash layout 😭. This was great to see two things I am passionate about brought together like this, it kinda makes me want to start a channel fusing the two. But anyways, fucking loved this, I just subscribed and I'm looking forward to watching more of your content ! 🤘🏻

That song makes me want to grow out hair just so I can jam more effectively (also the layouts really cool)
This level is an amazing showcase of how movement can represent a song. Personally the gameplay is very off putting and as a level it doesn’t work but that goes without saying and as described in the pastebin that’s not what this is about. The different speeds patterns and breaks show incredible attention to the song and it’s different aspects and I especially like the second half by quite a bit actually. Amazing job this is art in its own form. :)
