Frequency is uncontrolled and relatively very high because its free wheeling circuit... approx 100khz or 300khz.

No, this MOSFET is for low voltage and high current, power supplies will have for high voltage and low current.

How does it work? What part of the circuit is creating the oscillation? Normally you need a high frequency controller to generate the pulses for the transformer.
