My friend had a very aggressive form of cancer which had no cure as it was a very rare cancer and was given six months if lucky if she had treatment. She ended up living five years and her professor who was treating her said her positive attitude and her decision to live life to the full helped her life longer. I believe he even wrote a medical paper on her as she was a miracle because her cancer was so rare and aggressive she should not have lived so long. What i have learned is that they can say their is no cure but your attitude is so important. We are all terminally ill. It's called life and it always end in death. So chin up eddie. Whatever time you have left live life as good as you can.
Any Tumor in the Brain their are 200 types of Brain tumors some wont kill you and you can live for your entire life with it, the others are going to kill you regardless of its its cancerous on not. My Father had a non cancerous Brain Tumor and lived 2 years, and they were not very pleasant.
Eddie, in 2020, I was diagnosed with a stage 3 metastatic cancer. My cancer markers were through the roof. I opted for the most invasive surgery available. two months later, the cancer started coming back. Then, I underwent two months of computer guided proton radiation ( 20 minutes per day). The damn thing still kept growing, but two months after the radiation treatment it finally went away. I am now almost two years cancer free. You can beat this, Eddie. Not saying it's going to be easy, but you can beat this. Promise me that you're going to keep fighting to win, and I promise you that I'll meet up with you in Thailand so we can have some beers and show off our scars to the pretty ladies. 😉

EDDY VERY IMPORTANT READ THIS. Hi Eddy my niece works on the new Proton machines the Proton beam therapy is an advanced form of radiation therapy. It irradiates a whole tumour but is able to limit the dose to surrounding normal tissues, which may mean there is potential for less normal tissue damage. This, in turn, means fewer long term side effects and a better quality of life for patients. It directly sends the beam right to the source they had two machines in the U.K The Christie NHS Foundation Trust in Manchester. Where my niece works and University College London Hospital (UCLH) in London. I believe they may have 6 machines now If the N.H.S. Won’t allow you access to this great system try your Insurance see if they will. If you want me to send a Video of this let me know here .I will respond. All the best.
Edd do you have the funds if you cash you pension in you need to ask about terminal illness clauses. You can pay for Proton beam therapy in bangkok. Whilst they probably have excellent rehab given all the accidents with no helmets. No waiting for NHS beds out their if you have the funds no point letting the goverment take you pension assuming you dont have kids?
I had six weeks of radiotherapy nearly two years ago I had no sickness only redness and a little soreness,it was manageable Only suffering a little from the seven hour operation removing lymph nodes which where stage 3 and 4 I'm expecting it coming back one day You have to live life to the best of your ability You can listen to all the advice, bit in the end we have to decide for ourselves not really knowing if we made the right decision If you want to get back to Thailand do it one way or another I'm back to the Philippines in September, do it while I still can Best of luck lad😉👍
If the oncologist is recommending radiotherapy over chemo that’s a good sign Eddy. That means the cancer hasn’t spread. Unlike chemo, radiotherapy is targeted meaning the side effects are less severe. I think back where you were a few weeks back. You’ve made a remarkable recovery. This bodes well for the future. Good luck and best wishes Ed.
Sorry this is not true. Glioblastoma cannot be completely removed surgically as it *always* reaches beyond the boundaries of the tumor mass. It responds poorly to chemotherapy, treatment is generally radiation combined with chemotherapy (temozolomide). No doubt there are clinical reasons why they are not recommending chemo, but these are questions Eddie should be addressing to his oncologist not UA-cam.
Firstly I admire your bravery Eddie. I've had 2 brain cancer operations (melanoma) radiotherapy and immuno-therapy from PMac Melb Aust. And now I'm going quite well. I had the maximum safe amount of radiotherapy after first operation. My side effects were very minimal. Some tiredness for next few days. No nausea. In fact after treatments I would go and have lunch in the cafeteria. In my opinion definitely have the radiation therapy. It's suppose to clean up any other cells that are still there. Every body is a unique person when it comes to cancer. 12 to 15 months is an estimate only. You might last for many years in physical and mental health way past that estimate. The MRI scan says your all clear. The cancer you have is not there at this point. Regular MRI scans are a must at this juncture. Every 2 to 3 months. If it comes back they can get onto it straight away. Immuno-therapy must be explored for the cancer you had removed. There's a Professor Richard Scolyer from Peter Mac Hospital, Melbourne Australia who had a glioblastoma removed from his brain surgery. After 10 months later on immuno-therapy and a personalised vaccine he is cancer free. And living life okay. Please Eddie do a google search on the Professor Scolyer and see for yourself. At a minimum immuno-therapy must be considered. The doctors in England who are treating you should have heard about Professor Scolyer work because this treatment is ground breaking. Current treatment for brain glioblastoma being surgery, radiotherapy and chemo hasn't improved for 19 years. Good luck Eddie and do the google search !!
@stephendunn132 Your 2 brain cancers were Melanoma? Are you sure? Because Melanoma is a type of skin cancer……not brain cancer. Of the skin cancers…..Melanoma is the most dangerous. It is malignant and aggressive and can spread to other areas of the body.
@@robertwilliamson922 maybe is was and spread to the brain? "Melanoma is a type of skin cancer that can spread to other parts of the body. When it spreads to an internal organ, such as the brain, a patient has advanced or metastatic (met-ah-stat-ic) cancer. This is stage IV, the most serious stage."
Hi Eddy, I’ve had both one for cancer and one for a brain tumour. The chemo made me feel very tired for a day or two after treatment but I only had it every three weeks for a full day. Had radio for the tumour had to be strapped to a table under a mask for five days a week for six weeks that wasn’t fun, I’m in remission from the cancer, still have the tumour but hasn’t changed in size. But unlike you I wasn’t given a time frame. I was told that if you are going to get cancer, I got one that was treatable and will never say I beat it as that’s when it will come back and bite you. I suffered from survivor guilt as a lot of those being treated for various cancers did not make it , many younger than me. All I can say is make the best decision you can based on your case and what you want out of what’s left of life. I think that if I was given a terminal diagnosis I would head for the terminal at Heathrow and spend some quality time enjoying what ever place that makes you happy😊
Hello Eddy, if you have a glioblastoma you need to get yourself out of there and get doing the things you want to do with your wife. I went thru this with my sister and she died within 6 months. The chemo was useless and the radiotherapy made her very sick. I personally think that surgery is the best option and you should enjoy what you have after that. The chemo and radiotherapy will make you weak and ill. Its up to you love, but from personal experience, I would leave it at the surgery and get your life back up and running as quickly as poss
One thing i have learned through friends who has cancer is a postive mental attitude is so important. Remember Eddie its your life and your choice because your the one who has to deal with the outcomes of decisions. Personally i think your doing things the right way.
Stop all sugar now... the food you have been eating from your posts is all so bad...healthy diet from now on. My father had terminal cancer in 2013.... 2 years to live doctors said. Still alive. Found his own recipe to neutralise the ph level cancer thrives on by drinking mallis and bio carbonated soda... I would be thinking of alternatives...nothing to lose
Hi Eddie, I was diagnosed with Bowel Cancer, which was actually a Lymph node, in my abdomen, in 2015. I took the Consultant advice and had a 6 week course of Radiotherapy and Chemotherapy, at Christie,'s Hospital in Manchester. I had Diarrhoea, during the Radiotherapy, treatment, but had to stop the Chemo, as I had a bad reaction to it. I am still here today. Eddie, please be guided by the Doctors. They are the Professionals, and have your Best interests in mind. Best of Luck. Ken.
Let me tell you about Doctors 'best interests' - when my mother had cancer the doctor told my dad that the chemo and radiation would do the trick - she died three months after starting treatment (autopsy showed she died of an enlarged heart - side effect of radiation). The night she died the attending doctor actually told my dad "We expected this all along". Even if that was true it was heartless for the doctor to tell him that. IF they expected a negative outcome why didn't they tell her to forgo the treatment and just use pallative treatment to manage the conditon until she passed. the cancer would have eventually killed her but the chemo and radiation (specifically the radiation in a greater degree) killed her faster. Best interests my arse! If the only tool you have is a hammer then everything looks like a nail - cut poison and burn is all they do. It is their only tool they have...
@@robertwilliamson922with cancer generally if they can cut it out you're going to be okay. There's a reason they don't refer to chemotherapy and radiation as a cure. My point is here we are in the 21st century and 75 to 100 years later we're still doing cut poison and burn. That's all they have, but just because doctors used to believe bleeding a person would make them better doesn't mean I have to embrace that same idea. I've actually faced the big C I told him you can cut it out but no chemo no radiation I'll take my chances. That was almost 20 years ago and I'm fine. Each person is decide for themselves what risk they're willing to take. The thing he really should do now is work on physiotherapy to get him up and walking again. Then you can ponder these other things. He doesn't need to squander whatever amount of strength the currently has.
Radiation is the way to go in your situation, trust in the science and your doctors, use the time you are not tired during the 6-week treatment window to do the needed physical therapy for your hand and leg. This way you can be ready to go when you are ready to travel, Keep the faith, YOU GOT THIS.
No wonder the NHS is struggling, all the cancer experts have taken a package and are out mongering in Thailand and giving away free advice. Eddie, be guided by those that deal with this every day. As a paramedic i deal with people in your situation every day. Focussed radiation treatment, proton or other alternatives, is a great option if it is suitable for your cancer. Doctors arent divine although people expect perfection and miracles. They just know shit and try real hard to help people. Good luck mate. Hope to see you out of a hospital ward soon
Good to hear from you Eddie. It's good that the oncology team have a plan of action for you and you never know, this radiotherapy could give you some substantial extra time. Doctors are very clever people but they're not fortune tellers and nor do they know everything. There have been known cases of Glioblastoma patients surviving 20 plus years after receiving the surgery you've had. I sincerely hope you can get some top quality physiotherapy and get back on your feet again.
As I mentioned in your previous video, glioblastoma multiforme is unfortunately the one brain cancer you don't want. It cannot be removed in its entirety because it infiltrates healthy brain tissue. They will have removed the bulk of it, but cells will remain in surrounding tissue which cannot be removed without killing you or causing serious brain damage. Comparing it to other cancers is meaningless. Radiation therapy will help to extend your life span but cannot cure it. You best/only hope is to get onto a trial. There have been some advances in training the immune system to recognise and attack the cancer. For example www.massgeneral.org/news/press-release/clinical-trial-results-show-dramatic-regression-of-glioblastoma-after-next-generation-car-t-therapy
Eddy, I admire how positive you remain during these difficult times and I wish you a beautiful, warm winter in beautiful Asia, whether this is Thailand, Vietnam or Cambodia, it doesn't matter. My hats off to you and all the best with your physio and radiation treatments.
I wish you all the best Ed. My mum is about to start radiology as she's too weak for chemo. I think you're very brave with your positive attitude and how you inform us all, I thank you
Eddie, I'm fairly new to your channel and was enjoying your videos. But, I am so sorry to hear of your news. Thinking of you and hoping you'll be well enough to have a great Winter and 'go out with a bang', as you phrased it.
My Mother took the radiotherapy option in the 80's. It worked and she was on medication for the rest of her life. She had a brain tumour. You really are a true legend Eddie.. 100% buddy. Thank you for all your video's and live stream's and the books.
Eddy, you're an inspiration to us all! Follow the advice of your own doctors, they know best. Ignore shameless charlatans and quacks, who care only about themselves. Your viewers are pulling for you!
Great that you got out of your room, and got to meet the specialist face to face. I've looked on The Mayo Clinic's website and they have interesting infomration about your type of cancer. Worth a look. They also describe the radiation therapy quite thoroughly, including pictures of what that machine looks like. A positive mental attitude is the main thing Eddie. A couple of months ( or less ) of treatment, and then you'll be recovering and getting back being out and about. Keep upbeat ! If you ever want a chat, reach out !
I don't know enough about radiotherapy to give you advice on whether to do it or not, but for sure I agree with your decision NOT to do chemotherapy. I have never seen it do anything except make people sicker and miserable for the last 6 months of their lives. Good to hear you are examining things more, the doctors and hospitals don't shoot straight, so its a decision one needs to inform themselves to make correctly.
Ed, i think you gotta be realistic now...just concentrate on learning to walk again..That in itself, is a massive task..Holiday as much as you can in the UK, when your mobile, but dont even think of abroad.. Anything can happen with side effects from your illness, and its unlikely that you will get travel insurance with your diagnosis..Just enjoy holidays here, its a safe option, although not the first option. Best wishes 👍

Well done for being so positive.. never always fully agreed with your videos ( that’s the beauty of life)but always respected your positivity on life and enjoying. It ..when you previously ( a while back )went for that check up in Bangkok I was suprised at a general lack of understanding regarding one’s own health , or so it seemed ,, but admired you for doing it-never the less, I guess that’s with a lot of people( down to the boozer and forget about everything else as it looked )but your lucid determination to get the best out of this situation now , is admirable.. and only you , as you seem to be saying, can only answer the questions yourself , regarding what’s best.. everyone else’s situation is irrelevant, we are only in control of own destiny..hope to see you in Thailand soon.. keep the positivity and read up on Buddhism if you wish.. having understanding of ones own situationand not being influenced by external influences..as you seem to be already doing.. my energy is with you .. and peace be with you🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Hi Eddie Be aware you are becoming a Roll Model to all those people who are in the same Boat ie Cancer suffers. You have a lot of courage. You will do a lot of good to a lot of people. That is a big deal Eddie. You are doing great.
You are sounding very determined Ed now. Great.....No matter what course of treatment you opt for we want plenty of future travel vids from you. Like some comments say, you could defy expectation and carry on well for much longer than told. Good on ya mate. ;-]
Eddie been following you for a long time your an inspiration to every cancer sufferer throughout the world get out that bed and continue your travels you can do it my friend do your radiotherapy and live your life
go for it Eddy , best of luck. Be proactive active with your treatement plan. A friend of mine was given 1 year to live 3 years ago. Hes still here and more or less fine. Keep positive and keep busy
You truly are an inspiration Eddie…. I’ve mentioned before that I’m in a similar situation to you. The difference between us is that I’m all doom and gloom whilst you are seizing the day and trying to make the most of what time you have left…. I’ll get there eventually, your videos are certainly helping.
Eddie, what I understand about radio therapy is that is is more targeted. Chemo destroys what is bad , but also what is good . There can be side effects with radio therapy too, but it is not as generally destructive as chemo. Again , it is only slowing things down , probably by months . I would think about what you would like to do with the time left not about stopping the inevitable..... which comes to us all at some time.
Then tell me, if it is 'targeted' tell me why the hair on your head comes out in patches when the radiation isn't directed at the head? Why does the heart enlarge,,, radiation is not directed at the heart?? B.S. Right now, he is clear of the cancer. His number one priority is to do physical therapy to get mobile again. IF the cancer comes back, then he can weight the current cocktail of poisons that the doctors have to offer. But DON"T irradiation tissue where there is currently NO tumor!
I’m sorry you’re going through this. The x-rays showing things went well are a great sign. I love your current mindset of deciding to go out on a high note by enjoying your life. It’s not the quantity of years one has but the quality of the life they live with the time they have! There is something to be said about keeping a positive attitude and hope alive… people that beat themselves up and constantly ask why me don’t give themselves any chance at overcoming these challenges. Keeping a hopeful and positive mindset may not guarantee someone will beat this terrible thing but it will give them the best chance at doing so. What’s the worst that will happen? Either they’ll be happy and positive and enjoy life and give themselves a chance at beating this until the time comes or they can be miserable, depressed and still have to face the final moments without squeezing every ounce of joy life still had in store for them. Keep your spirits up, do what you feel is right for you and remember there are people rooting for you and wishing you well.
Hi Eddy, been watching your story and think you are bloody inspirational on how you are getting on with it, not dwelling when no one could knock you for being bitter as hell. My dad had a brain tumour and had radiotherapy, no real side effects except he lost his taste for a while, but he at least wasnt sick from it. Either way mate, listen to the specialists, they are the ones who know what is best and good luck mate, you are a legend
Eddie, you’re still with us,so we consider ourselves lucky to have you in our life and enjoy hearing your voice and your commentaries. What if you ask the most trusted doctor that is looking after you this question: What would be your honest opinion/prediction to my life expectancy if I decide to 1. Go the Chemotherapy way,2. Radiation way,and 3. Not doing anything. I wonder how the projected life span would look like and perhaps make your decision on the numbers given to you. Just an idea, whether it’s worthwhile pursuing or not ,I don’t know. God Bless you Eddie and Wish You Luck.
You’re so right Ed if this is your last year you do it as you please mate I don’t know anything about Radiotherapy however it does seem much more less intrusive as such so fingers crossed it dies it’s job I’d love to see you back out in Asia loving the life you want again you’re truly inspirational and a warrior great attitude to have take care mate Matt Motherwell 🏴
Eddy, as someone who had both chemo therapy and radiation therapy I can tell you that here I am 40 years later alive and kicking. Yes, both chemo and radiation treatments are not particularly pleasant, but I think I can safely say, I am pretty confident that they are probably much more effective and less unpleasant today than when I had my treatment. I don’t know what you will decide, for my money, if just having radiation treatment prolongs your life then it’s got to be a no brainer. You have come this far, just keep going.
The most important thing for you to have any kind of active life is to get rehab and get walking. Once you're walking you can travel. I don't mean to be blunt but make the most of your 12 months. Other options are gonna make you feel shite. - I met you on 172 street btw!
What do I think? I think that that type of decision is always highly personal and needs to be made on a case-to-case basis with consultation with your doctor. Whatever your decision, I’m 100% behind you and you remain in my prayers. I agree with the other comments that say your attitude is important. And I think you have a fantastic positive attitude. Keep it up mate!
Hi Ed, Watching from South Africa. I was born in Torbay hospital in 1975.... Left England when I was 6.... Just my opinion.. I think you should push them to Give you Physio and occupational Therapy.....NOW. You need to get exercise and strength back in muscles. Don't take no for an answer. You in my thoughts and prayers. Focus on Strength and Thailand 🙏❤️👊👍✌️
Eddie, you will make the correct decision. Your strenght will guide you through, Viking style. Greetings from my annual trip from the most remote part of Iceland, Djupavik. God Bless, cheers.
Radiation Therapy is what its called Eddy., its the best option. You are best to live your life as best as you can and enjoy your life as best as you can. We are all praying for you. You are correct go out with a smile on your face.
Its in your head Ed, my younger brother lived another 13 years with cancer. He lost a kidney, then they found tumors in his head, took them out started chemo, lost his eyesight and lived another 13 years before it came back again, so, its the way you live your life with a good attitude, like he had, knowing that it will come back someday. Live your life to the fullest, good luck.
Eddie, i finished a radiotherapy course two months ago for a nose tumer, my coarse was 10 blasts once a day for 10 days each lasting one minute 20 seconds. It was painless the only discomfort was nasal congestion for about 6 weeks after because the radiation works for a month or so after treatment finishes, i return to oncology tomorrow for an assessment. Good luck on your treatment.
Eddy I really admire your attitude. Go out with a bang! Don't underestimate the value of staying positive - you never know you might just have many years ahead. Love from Mike & Lin.
Eddy, the radiotherapy targets the specific area of the primal tumor. Then you can have the chemotherapy as back up treatment if/when the illness causes metastases. The precision chemotherapy will then target the cells in other parts of the body. My advice to you, mate, is to go for the radiotherapy asap along with the physiotherapy. Go to Thailand when you feel OK to move and if/when the illness comes back go for the chemotherapy in the UK. If you can, try not to focus solely on the 12-15 months, it is the statistic risk but it varies from patient to patient, for you the progression of the illness could develop more slowly. All my prayers to you Eddy from Sweden ❤
I wish you all the very best Eddie, but I presume the doctors have treated this type of tumour on a regular basis so know what treatment works and doesn’t work. Your one brave man staring mortality in the face. I hope you win.
Eddie you are dealing with this incredibly well, easy for us to give an opinion as we are not in your shoes. If and when the time comes and I am do think my choice would be to go out making the most of life before it comes back..Hopefully you will get moved soon to a hospital that can rehabilitate you, everything is about your mobility, then you can crack on. Sending good vibes mate, up and at it mate..
Go for it Eddy, go out on a high note! Your positive attitude, I’m sure will extend your time spent doing what you like, traveling again in paradise. 👍
Radiation is for you Eddie. Its a no brainer having read most of the comments from your mates in here. Your such a positive man Eddie, and thats a big plus as well for you.Cheers, 😊
Do the radiation therapy..ask the cancer Dr/oncologist for feedback, opinions, and what your options are..Ask what they would do if it was them in your shoes..they are educated, experienced and informed. My oldest brother did radiation therapy daily for 5 days a week, for 6 weeks for throat cancer..he did well, tolerated it well. Get yourself in a rehab program, physical therapy to maximize your strength and abilities now that your arm and leg have a better chance of improving since your surgery..get strong, you'll feel better for it, empowered and Fight to live your best Life..Karin RN in Florida
using a machine that moves around your body. Radiation therapy, also called radiotherapy, is a type of cancer treatment. This treatment uses beams of intense energy to kill cancer cells.
Good plan - Post treatment You could return back to UK every 3 months for CT/MRIs (generally the pattern most go through). If something shows up then they can address it and then back on your way. Since any insurance you can get won’t cover cancer(still get it as it will cover other bits), just be flexible if something shows up and get back before your too ill to travel. For example If you start to get head aches get back to NHS - they can give more radiotherapy and zap those buggers away. Generally proton beam radiotherapy better option if you can get it - do ask the oncologist. You’ll find once you have cancer, NHS wait list don’t exist. Quick treatment is a priority. The oncologist will now oversea all your treatment and any future surgeries you may need. Keeping the link is important.
Maybe can’t afford to fly back and forth every three months. They have told him that even with treatments, he has 12 - 15 months. Continuing to zap those buggers away is not going to give him time beyond that. At this point, he should go and do what he enjoys in the time he has left.
Yes I agree fly back and forth and test , I said the same last video …. He will not get travel insurance so just go back and forth , cash it all in and fly business, u can’t take the cash with u , most poms try pmsl
Are you not technically in remission right now? Cancer has been extracted. They tend to grow back in 6-9 months but what if it doesnt? Theres always a chance
I have 3 family members who had all different kinds of cancer when they were your age. 12 years later, they are all still here and getting around pretty well and got to see their grandkids be born and grow.
@@lostboi3974 You never mentioned that in your first post. Obviously you haven’t told the whole story. The types of cancer, malignant vs non malignant. And obviously if all three were told they only had twelve months to live….and they are still here twelve years later……then they all had pretty bad doctors who didn’t know what they were talking about.
You're some man Eddie, fair fecks to you pal. You make your own decisions and have a blast. Not everyone's the same they're only going on previous form. It doesn't always work that way. Best of luck to you.
Eddy, my suggestion is that before you go rushing off to enjoy possibly the last months of your life, please consider that should your symptoms get more severe you may need to be somewhere that you can receive good palliative care and that may well be in the UK.
Exactly, that seems to be getting a bit overlooked and many of his followers are encouraging that mindset! For all I'd love to see him have fun in Thailand it makes me cringe because not that long ago he was in a bad situation in hospital there, visa nightmares, payment nightmares and this will be massively worse if it starts going wrong and there's no care plan in place. I mean how safe is a 13 odd hour flight when you've had two brain surgeries and radiotherapy?
Despite all the postive comments in this video the type of cancer he has is sadly just about the worst he could have. Their might be a miracle he may be that less than 1% who goes on for years with this buts its highly unlikey. If he gets fit enough he should go enjoy the last year. if he cashes in his pension he will have the funds for top notch care in a private hospital in bangkok or even singpore the later whos health system is every bit as good as ours. Lets not forget that first hospital in thailand was a goverment facility he would get much better care privately and he cant take his money with him. Sadly our NHS is on its knees thanks to the torries i know i work in it. How long has he been back in the UK and he is only just speaking to an oncologist today thats not good enough should have been within 2 weeks. Lets not forget he can't even get a referal to rehab. The NHS is still brilliant at urgent care surgery etc. Long term care its hit and miss postcode lottery. My advise edd if you have signifcant fund in a a pension you will never get to spend cash it in and get yourself back to bangkok a city you love and pay for the best treatment in bumrungrad hospital around going out with a bang during your final year.
@@anto-501 exactly, so long as he has the funding and makes a plan for himself then why not! He just needs to tread with care if he hasn't got the money. I went to Singapore this year, it's a good place!
@@bigwideworld387 Much as I support Ed's decision to live out his days in the place he loves, he needs to have a support network. Nick and the expat community will not be able to handle this, neither will his youtube followers. I know from experience, having travelled abroad with a terminal brain cancer patient the final year of her life. There were so many medical and practical issues to deal with before and during the trips, she would never have been able to manage on her own. Hopefully Ed's British friends can help him plan the journey, escort him on the plane and get him set up in Thailand. Doing it alone, Ed style, will be a recipe for disaster I fear.
@@sgam43 my dad got an oesophageal cancer diagnosis in 2016, they said chemo would give him a couple of years but the 2nd round knocked out his immune system and things went wrong fast and he was sent home from hospital with irreversible sepsis to pass away. Good to hear you are being offered another treatment option. If chemo really won’t help you much, then I would definitely take the radiation therapy path. With a six week treatment plan, you will know very soon how things are working out. In the meantime, work on your physical rehab as much as you can and stay positive. Hang in there, Ed!
Eddy which ever way you go treatment wise. Good luck and stay positive...I'm a cancer survivor know what your feeling...you will get on your travels 😊😊😊

I spoke to you about my brother god bless him , I had cancer and had radiotherapy on my head every day for a month , never had any problems or side effects and I'm still here now eight years later, I must say that I was not classed as terminal, it was non Hodgkin's disease I had , really Eddie radiotherapy is okay, good luck with it and keep smiling
Hi Eddy, radiotherapy kills cancer cells, and chemotherapy makes cancer cells more sensitive to radiotherapy. Combining both treatments can be the best option.
Just have to trust your doctors Eddy. None of us know what we are talking about who are not in the know or are not doctors. If the side effects are not too bad, then sounds worthwhile .... say if you get a month extra or more. And yes the physio .. for sure.. healthy diet... all you can do really. Listen to music.. relax.. and best you can get affairs in order. I feel for you.. Then there is the elephant in the room.. .. maybe can you do it all.. and say get a few months or three or four months of living in LOS.. Good luck..
The physio absolutely. But I can tell you just lose the doctor worship nonsense. Make sure you do your own investigation an educate yourself on the risk and benefits. It's an old and problematic attitude that will I will do whatever the doctor says. Different doctors have different opinions that's why many people get second and third opinions. Contrary to what many people post, doctors are far from gods and can be most fallible
You are a fighter Ed, God bless you. I narrowly missed you in 2019, you were a week ahead of me and did a VLOG from Harley's bar, Subic Bay. I was there the next week and like you had a curry and a beer. I really enjoyed your 'everyman' style of travel blogs and am confident I'll see them again! Do the radiotherapy, fight. Then before too long, I will buy you a beer, in Subic or Patts or Sukhimvit Road etc. You got this brother!
Great positive post, i feel for Ed as similar to what my mum went through, but different place in brain and worse outcome.
Very well said, I totally agree, thinking positive is half the battle. Stay strong Eddie boy.

Good job!

I believe they may have 6 machines now
If the N.H.S.

@@Alan-ux1wj yeah spread from the cancer I had in my nose
If the oncologist is recommending radiotherapy over chemo that’s a good sign Eddy. That means the cancer hasn’t spread. Unlike chemo, radiotherapy is targeted meaning the side effects are less severe. I think back where you were a few weeks back. You’ve made a remarkable recovery. This bodes well for the future. Good luck and best wishes Ed.
Great point !
Glad you go away frm Chemo .. it sounds just so dam horrible
Sorry mate that's inaccurate.
@@ijwilson yea radio combined with the chemo shows u how devastating this thing is
Firstly I admire your bravery Eddie.
Sounds like it was Proton Therapy that you had, is that so?
Hello Eddy, if you have a glioblastoma you need to get yourself out of there and get doing the things you want to do with your wife. I went thru this with my sister and she died within 6 months. The chemo was useless and the radiotherapy made her very sick. I personally think that surgery is the best option and you should enjoy what you have after that. The chemo and radiotherapy will make you weak and ill. Its up to you love, but from personal experience, I would leave it at the surgery and get your life back up and running as quickly as poss
Ivermectin and fenbendazole for late term cure..200$.

Hi Eddie,
I was diagnosed with Bowel Cancer, which was actually a Lymph node, in my abdomen, in 2015.
@@drawntoview What tools do YOU have?

Well these same doctors were advising people too get the safe & effective juice not that long ago. & Still are
Radiation is the way to go in your situation, trust in the science and your doctors, use the time you are not tired during the 6-week treatment window to do the needed physical therapy for your hand and leg. This way you can be ready to go when you are ready to travel, Keep the faith, YOU GOT THIS.
Absolutely….this is the good advice. Listen to the oncologists. Get the physio in. Get back to traveling.
So you and your friends have more knowledge than oncologists🙄
@@keepingitreal618 At no point did I say that.
Do whatever therapy helps with symptoms. Enjoy the magic of ordinary days. ❤

MY thoughts are with you mate. I’ve watched your videos for years and you sir , are one of the good ones. Wish you all the best mate.

Our prayers are with you Eddie.Stay strong.
Are you not technically in remission right now? Cancer has been extracted. They tend to grow back in 6-9 months but what if it doesnt? Theres always a chance
The doctors told you time is limited, enjoy whats left before you weaken
Best advice of all!
thanks Captain Obvious

Cancer, It is not necessarily a death sentence like years ago, God willing you will be ok! 🙏❤
It pretty much is
I have 3 family members who had all different kinds of cancer when they were your age. 12 years later, they are all still here and getting around pretty well and got to see their grandkids be born and grow.
Obviously they didn’t have aggressive malignant cancer like Eddie has.
@@robertwilliamson922 Nope. But they were told that they only had 12 months to live.

You have immense courage and i am very proud of you. Be strong and take the best decisions of your life. You will pull through by God's help.
I can't imagine my dad's final days if he'd been alone and overseas somewhere and not at home with Marie curie nurses and morphine keeping his last days very gentle and peaceful for him!
Ive nust spent 4 hours watching videos on UA-cam of people who have beaten stage 4 cancer and there are 1000s of others and that includes people in there 50s and 60s i wasn't so sure but now after what ive just watched and your never say die attitude i truly believe you have a real chance of beating this and Living a long and happy retirement in south east Asia
