My weekly fight with the duvet and cover is the highlight of my week. A test of human will and strength over the mighty duvet.
😢😢😢😢😢
🤣🤣🤣
😂😂😂 I have to agree. It's better than a gym work out. 😂😂😂😊
it’s so tedious haha
I think it's easier for women for some reason... I get all inside the duvet and search for the corners.. to realize that another corner has escaped .. honestly it's a struggle for me
The inside out method is soooooo much better than the roll method, thank you!
It also works better for thicker/heavier duvets.
Just tried the roll method.. worked like a dream. Cleanduvet cover on in no time. Less painful on my back so I think I'll persevere with it. Thank you!
Loved the roll way! Just tried it for first time. My duvet was getting too heavy for me to shake, as I get older, so the roll method is a godsend. Thank you so much ♥
Omg, thank you! The inside out was insanely easy, worked like a charm.
Just saw this today. Even though “the roll” looks awkward, in my experience, it’s a peaceful, stress-free way of doing it. You can tie the corners of the insert, then roll. It’s such a relaxing way to accomplish a dreaded task.
It also works much better for larger duvets.
I was about to give up doing it by myself but then I found your video and tried the inside out method! Perfect thanks…
I’ve got an even easier way. Put the duvet and the cover in the drier. Turn on the drier. When it’s finished the duvet will be inside the cover.
Well it seems to work with sheets!
😂😂😂
Brilliant, love it 😂
😂😂😂
😂😂😂 lolz
It’s more fun to climb inside the duvet cover along with the duvet then fall off the side of the bed when you lose your balance whilst at the same time ripping the duvet cover when your knee gets stuck on top of the cover. That’s the way I do it. Works every time.
Brilliant! Yesterday, I replaced my single duvet cover and I did it the normal way by shoving the duvet up the cover, holding the two corners with duvet and then aligning the rest of it. The two methods shown here are so much easier and next time I will use one of these methods. Thank you!
Thank you so much! You are a life saver for a bachelor who recently moved abroad away from his family. I was so frustrated that I thought I'd rather settle for a regular blanket. Done in 2 minutes flat with the inside out method. Thanks!
Give it a try
Just shown my daughter the inside out method. Life-saver! Thank you 😊
If you have a staircase, you can put the cover over the stair rails , then drop the duvet inside the cover.
Using gravity to help you really makes it a whole lot easier.
Hope that makes sense.
That’s what I do, using the inside out method, rather than trying to shake the heavy duvet which is fine if you are a tall man, rather than a short old woman 😂
Me too, but remember to let go, if you'r losing grip. It's better if the cover opens the full width , not many do. Roll it up ,place inside the laid out cover , near the top, take to the Landing bannister rail, hang over and let go of the rolled duvet, but still gripping the bottom edge AND It will fall and unroll down inside the cover. I read that someone had introduced a Velcro fitting top cover, but i haven't seen one advertised anywhere.
Having two people work at this, would help greatly.
My sister and brother in law ( both in their 70s) do it together. They find it a lot easier for themselves working together.
Thank you for saving my sanity!!! I used the easy method and LOVED it. Now, changing the duvet duvet cover is not the nightmare it used to be.
Omg thank you!! You just saved my back with this 25lb king sized weighted blanket!! The roll method is the way to go 🙌🙏👍
Finally! Someone who doesn’t stop the video during the process. Thank you for showing me the entire process. Can’t wait to try this method.
I was just struggeling and laugthing at myself finally i did some half thing ....thanks I needed this :)
Been doing the inside out for more than 40 yrs now. Can’t believe so many people didn’t even know how to do it.
Astonishing isn’t it?!
Why not just use a comforter?
Loved the roll method. Used successfully thanks alot
Thank you SO much!!!! After months in different European countries, I have finally accomplished this task with - the Inside Out method all thanks to you! It takes 5 minutes! I have to re-watch the video again, but that's okay, because I've bookmarked it as a favorite! I never thought I'd get it right with the roll-up method and I would become completely exhausted just trying to figure it out; not anymore thanks to you.
Definitely number 1 for me. It was quicker than 2. Thank you
1. Iron the cover so that it's nice and smooth.
2. Lay the cover down on the bed with the open end at the end of the bed and smooth it down so there's no crumples.
3. Put the duvet on the floor at the end of the bed, folded a bit so that it's small enough to fit inside the cover's opening.
4. Hold the opening open with one hand and start shoving the duvet inside with the other..
5. Smooth down the cover some more.
6. Climb inside the duvet and spread it out trying to get the duvet up into the top corners of the cover.
7. Climb out and smooth down the cover some more.
8. Repeat 4 - 6 until exhausted.
9. Smooth down the cover some more.
10. Repeat until you realise that you left the cover inside out.
You lost me at "Iron" 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
😂😂😂lol!!
Been doing the inside out for years. By far the easiest. So much easier when two people do it...not always possible I know. 😊
Well presented and explained.Thank you😊
I recently tried the American burrito version and wasn't sure at first but worked perfectly, which def do it that way in future.
I use the roll method. I've been doing it for a while and as you get used to it it does get quicker. I'm short, so the inside out method is a bit of a challenge but it does look OK for single duvet covers.
Why has no one ever taught me this like the amount of times ive cried trying to put my duvet cover on is insane
INSIDE OUT SAVED ME AFTER 3 HOURS AND A FIT OF TEARS
Very clever my dear lady , I wish I had seen this years ago, I was always folding & wrapping myself up , instead of folding up the cover over the duvet!! Helen xxx
That’s is ! Never again buying a doubt cover..what a struggle.
Free to a home King tourniquet doubt cover. NEW .
thanks very much for this! i'm an inside-outer (but props to the geometric physicist who came up with the roll method!)
I can handle a spinnaker but not a damn duvet cover, these things are evil ! Did anybody notice that none of these beds has a footboard !
Even if the ghost is my favorite 😅😅😅 the roll changed my life. Thank you !!! Hahahahha
My cover has ties to attach to duvet the first way works well for doing them up, mine is king size (canadian) three ties on all 4 sides !
Which...... Thank you very much........ You save my life 😗😗😗😗🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🎉🎉🎉🎉 thumbs up 100 % n more......
THANK YOU, I've watched these demos before, only to quickly forget how, it's not something we do every day. Also, a coloured cover, as most are, would be esier to follow. Thanks again.
I was just thinking that the demo would have been easier to follow with a coloured cover.
I love this video this is a educational video, you make it so very easy, by putting on the duvet cover.
I was so confused and the way I seen other people's do it was confusing even more I'm glad I found your channel thank you very much❤👍 new subscriber
Thank you for your very simple explanations of these 2 methods.
I can't really explain how i did it before, but after trying the first method it was a darn sight easier!
All done now with the cat curled up on it.
Thanks again.
I did the reverse trick with a normal blanket & it worked, thanks.
The inside out has always been the best one for me, that is until I reached my eighties and now, definitely the best way for me, is to let my lovely helper Carol, do it😊
My buddy does the second method and it's so much work. I do the first - 62 seconds it takes me.
Hi just push your duvet into the cove and make sure its right in the top corners and out a peg to keep it there and just staighten it out ❤
Thanks for that! I'll use your first example in two weeks.
Thank you so much for making this video! I gotta admit, I've failed at the burrito method three times. I had a hunch that there must be another video floating around that showed a more effective approach. This is definitely the one!😎
Try those methods with a Super King size duvet!
The roll method for sure with king size
Yeah mine is super king and the roll worked perfectly 👍
I think with a super king size, it would probably be better with an extra pair of hands!
For Americans working with larger duvets (king/queen) the roll method is perfect for one person - the biggest challenge is keeping the roll together while you are turning those initial corners around.
The roll method is great, thank you 😀
Hello from France. I love your accent!
When my son was small we did similar to inside out but I stood on the bed holding it up, then my son worked from the inside straightening it out.OK it was a game to him but we did it very quick!
Lovely🙂
Thanks for showing me the inside out method ! Cheers Eddie
Very Helpful tips
Thanks for the tips. Going to try both methods. Have a king size bed and it is always a struggle getting the doona into the cover.
Thank you.❤
In australia we call the Duvet, a Doona and then the Doona cover. There is also a kids joke, What lies on my bed and sings ?!
MaDoona
Beauty is what beauty does. Thank you.
Thank you ❤❤🤗
I'm going to try this tomorrow morning!
I've used the inside out method for years but I'll certainly give the roll method a try.
Thank you 🙏
Why dont manufacturers put buttons or press studs, leave the cover on the bed , open it, drop duvet into cover, button up or press studs. Job done
A man's solution Sean.
First one is so good. Man I spent ages stopped for a tea break too lol
Yes i love that it is definitely a easy way
OMG. Where were you all when your mum or dad showed you this amazing life hack!! We had sheets and blankets growing up and ‘continental quilts’ as duvets were first known as back in the bleak 1970s! were like magic but not impossible to work out! Even for us kids of the 70s!🤣🤣🤣 Put a very large bag over a puffy smaller bag…..job done!
The inside out works like a charm! Quick and easy. I'm trading cussing for sweet thank yous !!!!
Brilliant!
Thank you
Thank you, and I only did the inside out in 15 seconds :D
uit BELGIUM Brugge
Thank you so much
zal het zeker gebruiken
That roll method is like magic but yeah the inside out is just faster and what I need!
What a performance!! Just use the corner to corner method less fuss
Thank you for demonstrating both the inside-out and roll methods. Even though I’ve used the roll method successfully a few times, I conceptually have difficulty understanding how it actually works especially at the part where you begin to unroll. Most videos do not explain that step well at all. Even though yours is a bit better at that, I still have trouble grasping that part. So it is always a struggle, plus it is slow for a single person. I will use the inside-out from now on.
Very Awesome Video
I have been doing the roll out method for years since I first saw it on you tube, many years ago, the difficulty is the ends, I purchased a zipped closure cover which will make it easier.
shes a hero.
Might try the roll method, but fortunately we use sheet sets so not the need to wash doona cover so often 😊
I use duvets and covers in my home. The inside out method works great if the cover opens all the way across. Otherwise, it's much more difficult and requires, in my opinion, two people!
Brilliant
Great thanks. I did it, a mere male, and it only took 5 minutes, inside out. Thank you.
I sew a loop on all 4 corrners of the duvet 1st,then when I get a new, duvet cover i sew a strip of tape or ribbon, about 5 inch long to each of the corresponding corners to tie the ribbon to. I find this method simple. As my husband, and grandchildren, when they stay over don't lose themselves in the bedding! As I'm the only person who deals with the bedding it makes for a quiet life ?for me anyway.
I did the second method today and plan to use the first method next time... it does look infinitely easier.
Instructions unclear, I need help please call 911 I may have damaged my balls and I am trapped in here
Inside out as you get older isn't as good but you can get various quilt and duvet holders. Put the cover the right way round take the corner of the quilt and put it into the cover to the corner and fix whatever type you have to keep the two together then do the same to each corner. They stay together then fine :-)
how cool was that? terrific :)
The roll. But how??
the task i dread most whilst changing the duvet cover, is peeling it off after being superglued with spunk.
Time to make more money
thankyouu
Definitely the first method. This is a lot easier that that Borito method.
I hate changing my duvet, I'm glad I was doing it the quickest way. I used to work in a hotel, the quick way is the favourite, you need a lot of energy for it though.
Agreed, I used the quick 'inside out' method for years... but as I get older and don't have the strength I used to, the 'Burrito/California roll' method has become a lifesaver. It doesn't take that much longer and is easy for one person to do alone!
Use a Fleece throw I sweat much less. and it fits in the washing machine x dry very quickly ❤
Okay, I'm sweating after fighting with this. The roll method didn't work for me. My down comforter is pretty thick and by the time I rolled it up, there was no way I could turn the cover inside out. My duvet closes with buttons and the last button is about 10 inches from the end on each side. I finally gave up and did the old fashioned clumsy way. However, this inside out grab the corners and shake method looks like a real winner to me. Thanks!
What I have noticed is that the duvet cover shown does not have any fastening which makes it easier for either of the methods. All my duvet covers have fastening and although it is possible to do the roll method it's a bit more difficult.
The fastening obviously needs to be undone, but some covers only have an opening in the middle rather than along the whole width which makes it much more difficult.
That’s the way I do it. I also use this method on my pillow slips.
Inside out one is the best …but you should try it when elderly with disabilities!
I have the easiest way.
I have a brass bed. I hang the cover on each of the bottom 2 finials then simply drop the duvet from the bed into the cover, then shake
Thimples x
One thing you fail to mention re method 1, the "inside out". This only really works if you have a duvet cover that opens along the entire length of the bottom of the duvet cover. A lot don't - mine doesnt. Has press up to about 6 inches from the edge each side, meaning the six inches don't effectively "open" - making the "roll down" method very difficult.
looks like i am not the only one that hates putting on the cover, worst chore by far... easily the most satisfying once it is complete omg. Thanks for the vidoe, helps a lot.
I would say you are definitely not the only one who hates putting on the duvet cover. Even with these methods it's not an easy job! Just go with your best methods.
Roll method of the best method
I love the British way of the instruction of how to do duvet properly🤭they make it looks like a scientific documentary😂😄
if the duvet has ties, when do you tie the comforter to it?
