- North America at the NEW Zoo & Adventure Park. Filmed April 8, 2023.
Tucked away on the outskirts of Green Bay, in the Wisconsin countryside, the Northeast Wisconsin Zoo has one of the most extensive, complete collections of North American Animals in an U.S. Zoo. Spread out over three regions; the Wisconsin Trails, Northern Trails, and North American Plains. The largest of these sections, the Wisconsin Trails is highlighted by playful River Otters, Black Bears, rare Red Wolves, and out of place, but still popular Red Pandas. The main feature of the Northern Trails is the Riley Building, lined with glass-fronted habitats for Cotton-top Tamarins, Burrowing Owls and other smaller creatures. Surrounding the building are two large woodland yards for Moose, a rare find in AZA zoos. Finally, the North American Plains is headlined by one of the zoo’s largest habitats, home to Bison and Elk, while smaller exhibits spotlight American Badgers and Prairie Dogs.

So Beautiful
I love your videos, Derek. My favorite conservation success story would be the California condor. They almost went extinct, but thanks to the San Diego Zoo, they made a comeback. They even took eggs from condor nests and made puppets that looked like the chicks’ parents.
Thanks for sharing!
@@DereksZooVideos0118 You're welcome, my friend. Out of all three North American sections at the NEW Zoo and Adventure Park, which one is your favorite and why?
@@JacobFiveash Probably the North American Plains because of the Badger (personal favorite of mine), and the large habitat for the Bison and Elk is impressive!
@@DereksZooVideos0118 That’s great! Also, what are your thoughts on the Wolf Woods at the Cincinnati Zoo? I think it deserves a little more attention because it has wolves and otters.
@@JacobFiveash Wolf Woods is definitely a bit of a hidden gem with it's location in the zoo, and definitely shouldn't be missed! It's not the most exciting for me personally, since I see otters at a lot of zoos, and Mexican Wolves frequently at several zoos including my home zoo.
