And another, for just in case, especially since you two got married... Is use one of your savings Tara box challenges for anniversaries (travel, gifts, etc) and one for baby (bedroom outfit, diapers, miscellaneous stuff you want to get designed for baby. It's so expensive now but with deals and coupons you can get by.) You will love knowing you set money to the side. Even if it's $5-20/week depending on what you can do. Just stuff it into the back of the Tara box... And when it adds up to $10, $15 or $50... Stuff into an envelope. I do that from time to time. And it helps cause one week I had like $3 and the next weeks going forth I was able to put away an envelope etc. Even my regular savings... If I have no where to put it... I don't force it on myself. And I have more peace... Like it's saved cause I put it to the side and it will be added with another amount for a better savings.
Definitely with the savings Tara box... For $2,000 or $2,500 (I forgot what the amount was.) You start saving up and label it as anniversaries. And save. By the time your one year comes up and you have the box full. It will make you two feel so good cause you could go somewhere and you didn't had dig into your savings or pull the money from elsewhere. You don't have to use the full amount. Talk it over on where to go. Then use that money.and use whatever else amount for miscellaneous while on your trip. Even if it's food, air fare, travel snacks, a picture frame to remember that anniversary, and a gift for him or for both. And whatever you spend, subtract it from what's left over in the Tara box... And then re add to make up for the following years. I can't tell you how important that is... Because we never did that and every year on our anniversary it's like what to do, because we never saved any money nor could do anything cause the money wasn't there. It's sad. And kids can really impact you from being able to. But hey if you are adamant about doing so again even if it's just $5-20/week and slowly incorporate them into the envelopes. You will have a savings and you two cant say you don't have any money to go out... Even if it's just a very nice restaurant after golfing etc.

Beauty is stuff for hair, nails etc getting done for me.
Miscellaneous is everything else from a new throw pillow to a new throw (blanket). A new picture for the home wall. Anything outside of bills and necessities. Sometimes people will call this "other" like Jordan Page. She only does two main categories. Groceries/Food/needs and then other/miscellaneous/wants. And other people like Dave Ramsey only does three; 1.) Savings 2.) Spending and 3.) Giving (I think gifts can be in this category.
It's always good to have some kind of system and label it and view how you like too.
I have to make one for meat stock if I can, I should because when Labor Day comes around (major holidays like memorial Day, 4th of July and Labor Day, sometimes Christmas... There are major meat deals especially on the more expensive meat like steak and ribeye roasts.) So even just saving $5-10/week add together for a good savings... All depends on your budget of extra money and what time frame you have.
