In this video Jeff does a review of an MBRP Race Exhaust System (Cat-Back) for the 2015, 2016, and 2017 Mustang GTs. This exhaust has a very deep tone, but does have some drone right around 2,000 RPMs. Overall this is a great budget exhaust system for anybody with an S550 Mustang. While this particular setup is made from aluminized steel, MBRP also offers a 409 stainless steel option.

I have this same exhaust on my GT and get nothing but compliments about the sound. I've heard the Corsa Xtreme, and while it does sound great.... you can't beat the deep muscle car sound that this exhaust provides.

Brendan Baker they are just gt350 style stripes.
Is the start up and idle louder than stock?
I love how deep sounding this exhaust is. I have a H-Pipe already, can I get those mufflers alone? Mine isn't 3' though.
It definitely has a consistently deep tone throughout the RPM range! I know MBRP sells just mufflers, but I would contact them to find out if they sell the same ones from this setup.
Man I REALLY LOVE the tone of the Mbrp race but I heard the drone is almost ear shattering 😕 is there any cat back loud and deepish as this but with minimal drone?
There is definitely some drone with this system, especially in the 1,800-2,000 RPM range. If you are looking for something deep with no drone, check out the Corsa Sport system. The Borla S-Type may be a good option for you as well. I'm going to try and review those two systems in the near future.
Jeff Ashton hey Jeff I know there is drone but is the drone bearable? I know I mentioned that I want something deep with no drone but I wanna hear it from you since u have drove with this system would u say the drone is managing for a daily driver? I don't think I'll mind a little drone
Rene Garcia I definitely think it's bearable, but over time I would probably have to change it. There are plenty of people that love it and have no complaints. The drone is mainly going to be at around 2,000 RPMs while cruising. Another option for you that I found drones slightly less is Solo Performance's axle-back. I may do a review on that system, but it sounds similar but has less drone and costs less because it's just an axle-back.
Jeff Ashton but an axel back won't be as loud I want something loud and deep, man I'm so undecided lol
Rene Garcia if you want loud and deep then Solo is a good option with less drone. They are almost as loud as MBRP since they are essentially muffler deletes, but have the tunable j-pipes to help eliminate drone.

How does this set up compare to the Roush axle backs?
Hey bro I know the corsa extreme is the loudest but which will u say is louder the Mbrp race or corsa sport?
Those two are going to be pretty close to each other as far as the sound from outside of the cabin. Inside the cabin I would say the MBRP will be louder since it has a bit of drone.

How loud is this outside compared to the extreme would you say?

Jeff Ashton Okay I just ordered the stainless version, is it loud though? camera sometimes doesn't do a justice.
Update, I installed it today, and there is some drone, but I got a thumbs up from an m4 and asked to revv by pedestrians. I'd say that's a win. And it's loud. No doubt.
