I played this song in a house party in The Bronx when this first came out, nobody knew what the lyrics were, but everybody went crazy and was bumping and grinding hard and asking who's song it was. They went mad over it!

What interests me is that at the start, and I quote, 80% of the other rappers weren't convinced by the underlying beat. But then, when it all came together, it worked. Classic case of the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. And the energy still comes across. Classics are classics for a reason.
