Fliptrix was probably the first artist I discovered from that label and basically put me on to a lot of others. I've been following him since around the time Third Eye of the Storm came out. There is so much talent on that record label! Dirty Dike, Dabbla, Leaf Dog, Verb T, Jam Baxter...so many great artists! I just wish they had more fans over here in the US, I would love to see so many of those dudes live.

ok its a commercial video but the underlying theme is for real I grew up in South London (in fact the road of flats I lived on has recently been on the ITV news) and looking back what I saw growing up as part of normal life is really not acceptable but when you are living in the middle of a contentious and violent environment you don't see it until you are out of it. The young want to have that reputation and are always trying to prove themselves. Most of the time it leaves you with nothing, prison or death.

So many times someone you are close too would get involved with something bad, you need to back them up out of principles; but it just escalates - I'm finding it hard to put into words because unless you experience this yourself... you just cant walk away when its family or friends (who are like family) your emotions and your logical brain are like a tug-of-war; all I know it was better to get a compromise if possible to stop it escalating to a full on violent situation.....
