You are are SO VERY fortunate to have a daylight passenger train like this where you live. In my state of South Carolina you can forget anything like this for good - 😔😩
How exactly are we "fortunate"? It costs more than a billion dollars to build... It has lost money since day one... And takes about twice as long than simply driving... Just to name a few of it's incredible failures. So please, by all means, explain how we are "fortunate"...
This Railrunner or Killer Bird Train (6 fatal accidents at high speed) is a primary reason BNSF railroad operations were vastly reduced in Albuquerque, Bernalillo, and industries South. The Rail Runner killed many jobs on BNSF as a result of the Rail Runner implementation. I worked BNSF a a Conductor at the beginning of the Rail Runner start and many industries were forced into trucking their deliveries as BNSF was prohibited from moving their trains for substantial times for cargo delivery. The only other train we needed to be wary of was Amtrak as it passed through twice per day. The track between Isleta Pueblo and Belen was dark territory and with the advent of Rail Runner saw the upgrade to CDC. No more stopping in Los Lunas for pizza or a Lot A Burger at Blakes! Two massive fatal wrecks near my neighborhood resulted in reduction, elimination, and consolidation of railroad crossings. The remaining crossings were equipped with signaled gates. BNSF gained as a result of the State of New Mexico maintaining all aspects of the track between Belen NM and Sante Fe NM. However, there are likely provisions for BNSF to reclaim the track in the event of Rail Runner ending service. Rail Runner provides a much needed transportation service but not nearly the capacity or popularity envisioned by its creators. It is still far better to drive to Sante Fe than ride the train.
new Mexican here. for the most part they dont run in residential areas and when they do its no-horn and at slow speeds. for how poor our state is its really nice being able to get up to satna fe without needing to deal with other drivers
@@d3ltaLX Yea it was certainly worth spending over a billion dollars with continued tens of millions in losses each year so you can ride on a choo-choo that takes about twice as long than it does to drive 😆😅😂🤣
It’s like a New York subway though. Police on every train. The trains runs through two or three reservations. Lots of drunks and violence. No thanks. Just an amusement ride for the tribes.
And yes, you got the Road Runner's "MEEP MEEP!" door chime.
I wonder did the railroad need to pay off Warner Bros for the rights to use that as a door chime.
Very scenic commute. Smart looking trains. Thanks DJHammers💚😀
No freakin way. The door chime is actually the road runner going MEEP MEEP? That’s brilliant!
Yup... ONE BILLION DOLLARS for a sound effect... brilliant.
That’s right! It really is such a quirky system. 😊

The horns on the cab cars are awesome. The warning announcements are pretty annoying tho
Excellent captures. Greetings from Poland. 👍
Hey! Welcome to my state! 🎉
*new trains yet?*
This railway system steals roadrunners “meep meep”
TWO engines for TWO passenger duplex units? New Mexicans aren’t THAT fat.

Whoa
Great. From a UK point of view these are huge and noisy. No further comment.

Police on every train. Lots of drunkenness and fighting. Fear has revenues at the bottom of the chart.
