  • I was shooting my custom 458 Socom Bolt Action. 16 In 1:8 Twist Barrel With a 570 Grain @lehighdefense Controlled Fracturing Subsonic Bullet @ 870 FPS. These bullets will expand down to 750 FPS with 4 Petals that fracture creating a large surface area for hitting vital organs. The base of the bullet continues through providing an exit!

    Interesting to see the deer react to the sound of the gunshot, when the bullet has few meters left, before impact. Subsonic is great fun

      I don’t know what the hell I’m looking at here! That first shot. The bullet acted like a damn full court basketball shot with the way it arched! Why can you see the bullet so clearly ? And how the hell can you hit a target so accurately with a bullet that behaves like that? Obviously I don’t know guns that well, but I’ve shot enough to know you can’t see a bullet traveling unless you have ultra high speed slowmo! Bloody awesome though!

      @@dwmueller76 Compared to a typical hunting round (150gr 308 winchester), his bullet is 4 times heavier (570gr compared to 150gr) and it's going 3 times slower (870fps compared to 3000fps). That's why you can see it and why it arches so high. He it can hit it accurately at those distances because his scope has a built in ballistic calculator and rangefinder. He ranges the deer then the scope automatically moves the reticle where it needs to be to hit the deer. You can still do this with a regular scope, a handheld rangefinder, and a ballistic app on your phone it just takes more time. Not trying to downplay this is easy, just explaining how he does it. It takes a lot of practice and a lot of data collection to pull shots like these off.

Either a smart scope, or a really good range finder/ dope sheet would be necessary to get those perfect hits.

    I bought a ATN4 Pro for my new build. The ABL1500 would not link up with the scope, returning it because it don't work and lots of peeople have the same complaint. Do you have any bluetooth problems with your ABL??? I see most of the people here have no idea what a modern scope/lase r range finder can do for their ability.

    What range are your optics zeroed at? That bullet "drop" seems like it would be very challenging. You're using the fancy digital scope too - is it one of the ones that does automatic range finding and "re-zeroes" the reticle based on its range estimation? Would be great to hear you talk tech about those aspects of what you're doing as you've clearly put in the time to figure it all out.

    • @coyotedown
      @coyotedown  7 місяців тому +1

      The optic I was using is called the ATN X-Sight 4k Paired With the ATN ABL 1500 Rangefinder. The optic Bluetooths with the Rangefinder and moves the reticle for the load and range for a dead on hold. We are going to be doing allot more videos like this very soon with load devopment and setting up these optics. Stay tuned!
