    Great idea using your solar array to cover the firewood 👍

    Great information. Thank you. I had never thought of storing items behind the panels.

    New to your channel . A suggestion on your favorite kindling devices. I made my own out of thrift store axe head , 2 bolts , a few scrap 2 +4's. Then , here is the time saver. I place my unit inside a thrift store milk crate or feed bucket from tractor supply. Why , no bending over for the wood. It all stays in the bucket. I will be watching more of your good works in time . Just wanted to share this big time sharing tip with you . With your present rid. Just cut a slot out of the bottom of a bucket , to fit it over your rig, for the same results. The wood does not care if you work extra hard. Keep it simple and smart :)

    Is there a particular brand? Did you install yourself? Why can’t you do 1/2 ground east 1/2 ground west why does the ground ones have to all be in one direction? Isn’t the payoff years down the line? Did you get a grant?

      Click the "Going Off-Grid Step-by-Step" playlist below my video to get a complete product listing including brands. I had them professionally installed. I could do ground mounted East and West. In hind sight I should have. We paid off the initial 5.2k system with battery bank in 3-1/2 years. We've also paid off the additional 11k upgrade and new battery bank since it was installed last year. In my opinion the "payoff" is self reliance not how fast I can make my investment back.

    Is the ability to clean snow off of the panels the main reason you like ground mount better? I live where there is no snow, so I'm curious if there is some other benefit to having a ground mount over a roof mount system. Thanks!

    • @TheFatman819
      @TheFatman819 2 роки тому +8

      At some point you will need to replace your roof. The panels will need to be taken off and be reattached buy someone at great expense. Also putting holes in a roof is not a good idea, you would need to regularly check roof for leaks

    • @woolval52
      @woolval52 10 місяців тому +2

      @@TheFatman819 Agree 100%. Also, the extra expense now for ground mounting is money you'll end up spending later when you get a new roof. Someone has to remove, then reinstall your panels. Plus, ground mounted can be angled perfectly for your location. Roof's aren't always at an optimal angle for solar.

    Will the power company ever pay you for your power produced or does it just accumulate in a useless account that you’ll never use since you have so much solar?

    can you add an extension on the handle so you can clear roof panels from the ground?

    Have you thought about putting them on a Solar Tracker.??

    • @LDSPrepper

      Excellent question. I didn't like the idea of moving parts that can break or freeze so I simply added 20% more panels to my fixed mounted system.

    If you need assistance pulling those roof mounted panels down & ground mount them, lemme know I will lend a hand.
