Thanks Joanne I have been trying to make up my mind whether or not to get one on these hot foil presses. With you showing all the other things you can do with particularly this video I think I definitely going to get one when I can afford it. Love your videos. Working my way back through them.
Even if they can only be used a couple of times as a foiling stamp, stacked die-cuts are a great idea! And, hey, why not get double the use of them by planning to use them to foil a couple times, then turn them into an embellishment on a card ala one of Jennifer McGuire's ideas for creating sentiment embellishments (see her youTube channel for loads of ideas for stacked die-cut sentiments). You could even foil your stacked die-cut former foiling stamp! I like the looks of coloring with a metallic paint pen on my former foiling stamps because I can color the sides as well as the top.
Very clever Joanne! I think when you're trying to focus on closer things you need to block out the background (bring things closer or cover your face if it's in there) - that's what I've seen on lots of other's videos too. tfs, that works great!
Wondering if this could be used with a hot iron. Another thought is that fabric stamps could be made in the same way. Thin craft foam under the fabric and fabric paint on the stamp. It may be that a few more layers are needed.
|ts your cameras auto focus, if you hold your hand behind it for a second until it sets the auto focus to that distance then remove your hand it will then be in focus, also check to see if you have multi focus points for you camera, if you do then set it to that as it's even faster rather than centre weighted focus which will require you to have it in the middle of the lens to get it to focus, trick on fine detail.. which is why multi focus is a god send.
Foiling on vellum should be just the same as foiling on paper, but I don't have any vellum so I haven't been able to try it myself. You might need an extra card shim as vellum is quite thin.
You don't get as good a result as you would from a metal hot foil stamp, and I have found they only last for a few uses before they loose the crispness around the edges.

Clever. Idea! I wonder if cutting chipboard would work to save time?
It may be too thick to die cut

Thanks for this - I will check my settings.
That's a great idea! Can you pls tell me how to foil on vellum? I am afraid to do the embossing folders cause it might damage it. Thank you!

Great idea. Thanks. Just so you know, the writing shows on the video the same way you see it.
