Transferring waste foil to card - using the negative, or plain foil

- In this video I show 1 method (there are lots of methods) to transfer a whole piece of foil onto card. This could be the "negative" from something you've foiled using a hot foil stamp or embossing folder (or anything else that leave patterned foil behind), or could just be a piece of unused foil so that you can die cut items from the card that match with what are foiling on your design. I use a thin metal shim with 2 layers of card underneath it, and then 4 or more shims on top of the card I'm foiling - it all depends on how much pressure you need and how tight your die cutting machine is. Pressure needed varies with the card and the foil.

Very pretty and informative Joanne TFS Kathy from Sydney Australia
Thanks Joanne for sharing your tips.
Love it Joanne thank you x
Beautiful card.
That's so beautiful x
Can I use a household oven set on low?
I have no idea - I use a hot foiling platform so would never try that.
Hi Joanne. I didn't realise how easy this method is to do. This is another thing I have tried in the past that hasn't worked so have been throwing my waste, not anymore. Can you please tell me where I can get the thinner metal shim please I have looked on Amazon but there are so many. Thank you. Wendy
I'm currently using a Tonic Metal Shim they have brought for use when die cutting with their mixed media dies - it seems to be one of the cheapest available. Craft Stash have it here - www.craftstash.co.uk/tonic-studios-media-shim-for-media-dies.html
