I think this is such an underrated anime, a true hidden gem for the open minded individuals! It does a lot of things differently then the big blockbuster anime's. Sure, this isn't your typical story with loads of plot twists and drama, the episodes can feel a little repetitive and the animation seems a little outdated at times. But all those things didn't really matter for me, I found the concept very fun. Every time lucius was in the world of the 'flatfaces' I really enjoyed the child like sense of wonder from Lucius and how he interacted with them. The humor was subtle and spot on! It just worked for me. I think this is not for everyone, but after watching a lot of different anime this one felt fresh! I hope there will be a season 2!
It pretty much wraps up with a more merry Roman-world ending than the manga, which is has a bit of a similar but MarySue self insert story. But ultimately it's only 4 volumes long, this anime covered it about 98% so I don't foresee a season 2.
@@gizmogal89 I don’t know about “season 2” in the sense of a sequel/the rest of the manga But if you watched the little bits of Yamazaki sensei after each episode, in the last episode she wraps up with something like: “If we are to create another series of Thermae Romae I think that (in context to the clip) might become the principal theme” In other words if we ever do get more of Thermae Romae anime then it might actually be fresh stuff that Yamazaki sensei writes
Here's a lady who REALLY enjoys her baths! The anime is a riot - never heard of Thermae Romae before, this was my first exposure to it (and by extension, to the rest of Mrs. Yamazaki's work) and I find it so so amusing. Well done!
Excited to see this new version! Hopefully somewhere down the line, some UA-camr will make a worthwhile video that will help spread the word of this criminally overlooked series. Kind of like that "History of Girls und Panzer" video that (somehow) got a million views....
I fell in love with this anime and binged it all in two days. Thank you for making something that blends two of the cultures I admire so much and really feels like an honest love-letter!

Must thank you for not using violence and more of the same issues, the manga brings me peace and another perspective of life and a well driven goal, the chapter when Lucius transforms the bandits to help them with a good job is one of my favorites !!!

La señora inocentemente "Todas las ruinas de baños se pueden usar" pero el problema está en que ahora nadie entiende o sabe de los sistemas constructivos utilizados o de la plomería y los sistemas de calefacción bastantes complejos por ser edificios saunas.
