    Enjoyed watching your video!! I’m trying to find a place to park for the night. I’m doing a cross country road trip and I thought Vancouver was bad for parking, but it’s nothing compared to Toronto! Think I’ll have to drive to the outskirts of the city to sleep comfortably, drive into the city to catch the train, and then back out of the city to continue my road trip.

    Some really great tips. Red lights, that a superb thing to know and makes incredible sense. Thank you for sharing all your knowledge. One possible option is to go through neighborhoods maybe like Parkdale (knock on doors) and look to see if a resident might have a huge yard space, they may allow you to park there for a few hundred a month. Suggest your quiet, discrete and saving money and can drive away at a moments notice) Or maybe from 9 pm to 9 am. Paying 3-4 hundred certainly beats $1800 in monthly rent. Good luck in your travels.

      Yeah, we actually looked at ads. There are a lot of people renting parking spaces but only during the working hours...nothing really available overnight.

    Van life parking in Toronto must be serious headache daily since there is no free parking downtown Toronto.

    I know this is an old video, but I part time van live in my '95 Astro. I really want to go back to Toronto this year, and this has helped a ton. I watched it twice and I missed the name of the out door work out park; what was that one called?

      I don't know the name of it but it's located in this park here - goo.gl/maps/dkmy9ZcvD1J2 - just west of the pool. I'm glad you found the video helpful!

    I have a question .. is it not allowed to just park in malls parking ?

    • @CanVanLiving
      @CanVanLiving  5 років тому +1

      You cannot park overnight in most parking lots in Toronto. Also...there's really no mall parking lots close to where we wanted to be.

    How does the lights work on blue? I mean I’m not trying to ruin ur whole red light district deja vue thang. Just curious. Glad ur off them crutches✌️🚐

    • @CanVanLiving
      @CanVanLiving  7 років тому

      We have a small remote and you can change the lights to pretty much any colour! You can even have them do different patterns - like flash from colour to colour, or pulse in and out. If you want, you can check out a short video we posted a while ago on our Instagram account (you don't need Instagram to view it). Just click on this link and press play on the video: instagram.com/p/BSV5z1VBkTM/?taken-by=canvanliving You can see it flash from colour to colour and blue is in there! Thanks for the well wishes, Stephen.

      Red light preserves night vision better than any other visible color in the spectrum.

    can you park your van in a condo underground parking lot? Is that legal?

    • @CanVanLiving
      @CanVanLiving  6 років тому +1

      You could...if it would fit. We haven't found any garages that are tall enough to fit our van.

      People rent out parking spots cheap like 80 to 130 dollars a month. I’ve sublet mine before and gave a discount for the inconvenience but I’m now lining in my car saving up for a van. But this does happen. Sometimes it’s afvertsed in Local grocery stores and in the buildings where it’s offered which doesn’t help you much. Just thought I’d mention it though. You could always ask around. And parking spots are different sizes too so you could put a van in a spot for normally occupied by a mini. Some people offer driveways. But they’re not protected underground. Also I’ve seen bicycles sitting in car spaces! That looks so weird. Hope any of this helps

      You literally could park in a condo visitors parking . Some of them are harder to sneak into but others are wide open.

    How you do it for your adress for mail, bills, tax return...You need a email adress with a physical place...I know in USA theirs this possibility, can we do this around?

    • @CanVanLiving
      @CanVanLiving  5 років тому +1

      There's a lot of limitation for mail in Canada. We used a very close family members address...so if anything important came we trusted them to open it and let us know.
