    I got the first 2022 CRF 250R to hit my local dealers floor , I can say that everything in the video is pretty accurate, but I’d buy it again. I am a Vet rider that has been off a bike for 20 years but I do love my 125 feeling Honda and I maybe one the first to do a 270 kit with an ignition system to see how it does if I ever get enough hours on it . I hope the guys over at Dirt Bike Magazine watch this great shootout vid and take notes 📝.

      @@thinkandrepent3175 I’m a Honda man all the way , my first bike was a 1975 Elsinore and almost everything we ride is Honda, I have often wondered if these magazine folks get kick backs to vote certain ways but I can see all the value that the Yamaha has, and can see how it could get winning votes . however the bike that won the championship was last year’s platform and it was a works machine with hell of a pilot on it so I’m not sure if that’s enough to justify to stock platform win or not 🤷‍♂️

    I'm an intermediate rider, I had a CRF 250R 2021, I use it for like 50 hours then I get a Yz250F. I ride like 10 hours to get confy on the YZ. Then I when I try to ride the CRF, i notice that the YZ is superior on every aspect. It has a lot more response (the motor is better), and the suspension is like in another level. I never touch the CRF suspension I ride it stock, the I ride the YZ also stock. When I got back to the CRF after riding the YZ for the first time I realized that the CRF suspension is to soft I have to put like 12 clicks harder and it only improve a bit
    The YZ suspension has it all, it's hold in the big jumps and it's confy on the deep ruts. Yamaha is a far superior bike!

    Wish KTM did more than just make different color clones. Love that they save dying brands hate the way they do it. There is not enough parody in European motocross because of it and it’s beginning to stifle US MX/SX as well. Having half the field all really on the same team sucks maybe it will push Decoster back to a Japanese brand.

    • @mikehansenHamburg
      @mikehansenHamburg 3 роки тому +2

      It's because of KTMs CEO. He wants to save money by having all three with the same platform just like car companies do it. He also said in an interview that he got the idea by looking at european car companies. But I 100% agree with you. But other companies do the same. Fantic for example is a european brand that is based completely on Yamahas.

    • @jonruger
      @jonruger 3 роки тому +1

      @@mikehansenHamburg I agree it makes perfect sense why they do it keeps cost very low but it just bugs me to know half the bikes in most pro races are all basically one brand. Plus you know the parent company doesn’t want to lose to its own little brothers regardless of what they say they don’t want a championship going to GasGas or Husky they want them to be on a Orange bike. Not to say they are not happy when someone like Billy Bolt does win a title but you know they would prefer it to be Manny.

    • @greg6162

      @@jonruger yeah European racing is weird like that. Like in F1 a lot of other race team’s use Mercedes engines in their car’s when they directly compete against Mercedes. Doesn’t make sense why you would supply your competitor with your engine. I know it’s just a stock engine and races are won with factory build’s but still. Maybe KTM is doing this to see what changes work better in their engine platform’s. Like, GasGas seems to be on to something with their stock bike being that it handle’s amazing but they don’t have that snappy power like KTM and Yamaha. Obviously KTM probably has night/day configurations for their factory bike but they seem like they would do better if they slimmed down a little weight and profile. Ultimately it depends on the rider of course. I can’t help but wonder if Jett Lawrence or Eli Tomac rode for KTM if they would’ve done as well… or possibly better? One thing’s for sure is Yamah is legit and being 6’3 203/lbs it’s probably the only stick bike that makes sense for me
