- This is John Boulware and I in Atlanta doing 'Angels with Halos', it's on the 'Songs from the Suck' album. This song started me on the solo journey and changed my focus to songwriting for a few years. Here's the lyrics, which I totally bungled on stage, thanks for listening!

Angels with halos
I remember when we met in Tulsa
At the state fairgrounds picking up trash
You said you only had 2 hours left
I was jealous of that
You told me that your name was Lilly
Later on I found out it was Angeline
Thinking back that seems so silly
Angels with halos don’t have to holler
They don’t owe nobody money
They don’t bum no cigarettes
Angels with pretty wings don’t need a ride
Honey you ain’t no angel
I bumped into your mama just last Tuesday
At the package store on I 55
She looked up when she heard them mention my name
She smiled but there were tears in her eyes
I used to picture you so clearly
But now time has taken away my memory
Until I wonder if you were even here with me
Angels with halos don’t have to holler
They don’t owe nobody money
They don’t bum no cigarettes
Angels with pretty wings don’t need a ride
Honey you ain’t no angel
I remember when you told me you quit drinkin’
A couple of weeks after your second DUI
But quitting don’t weigh half as much as craving
And all you needed was a ride
I still think of you each Labor Day weekend
And I think of you again from time to time
I wonder just where the hell have you been
Angels with halos don’t have to holler
They don’t owe nobody money
They don’t bum no cigarettes
Angels with pretty wings don’t need a ride
Honey you ain’t no angel, honey you ain’t no angel
Got a Randy Steele beer koozie as a gift from my brother and it’s a prized possession
Nice!
