Thanks very much. The low angle makes the subject look more impressive. Quicksand signs are a novelty for me too. But the sand itself can be pretty terrifying to get caught in.
When I watch your videos and my gf is around, she always laughs upon hearing "northern gannet trapped in plastic" because it is so predictable that you will mention it again :) I had an average month - 190 dollars, and yes, the same problem with istock refunds. Fun fact - yesterday I got a record day at SS, both in terms of downloads and revenue - 17 downloads and 36 dollars in one day! Hope we hear about the poor gannet again, many times!
Hi Andrew, thanks for another interesting video. Good to know what have been successful stock images/ videos. Keep up the good works. I hope your bathroom gets repaired soon. I was thinking of you as I am staying in Made at the outskirts of Hague for a few days. Thanks again for sharing your stock sales.
Hi Nishi, thanks very much. The bathroom is a long and slow process dealing with trade people. Great that you are near The Hague. Are you here for the flowers? All the best and I hope the weather is kind to you!
@@andrewbalcombe1338 Thanks, Andrew. I had a great day at Keukenhof. Weather fine till 4pm, though very windy at times. More stock images at Amsterdam tomorrow.
@@andrewbalcombe1338 Thank you and we had a great day In Amsterdam. The travel took a long time on A2. Tomorrow, it’s Delft but rain is forecast. Such is life. 😕
Thanks again for the update. I surprisingly had 9 sales at Depositphoto. With 80 sales and an average of 0.45 per photo, it was a reasonable month. And almost at level 2 at Shutter.
I am happy with your gradual growth in agencies. One question: why are there more than 200 videos on Shutterstock and only 70 on Adobe? Lately I've been focusing more on videos and at Adobe I've been selling more videos than photos. Hugs from Brazil.
Thanks very much! I've been uploading videos a lot longer to SS and I upload editorial and commercial vids there. AS don't accept editorial vids, however, which reduces my uploads to that agency.
@@andrewbalcombe1338 OK I understand. Adobe accepts editorials, but only after 100 downloads. I haven't reached that goal yet, but I hope you do soon. Good sales in April.
Great video Andrew may i ask a question please over adobe stock haven't been on for a time work ect when you add content to site and add title and keywords.. there's a window missing before you submit.. so you can see what's ready to submit any thoughts thankyou
shocked about how little you are making, I'd heard stock had collapsed basically, old photography teacher of mine used to make a few thousand from each of his best images per year, book and cd cover, calendar rights for various countries, that was early 1990's, nursery photographers in the UK can clear £1000 profit for a days work, may be similar in NL, there are probably one or two specialist labs who do all the right prints and packages for schools, parents of v young kids like larger canvas or aluminium prints, it's very seasonal in the UK, mostly spring.
stock photography like many ventures will give back what you put into it. Many of my viewers do better than me for this reason. It's true the market is changing and in some ways shrinking but it's up to us to adapt if we wish to continue. One of the reasons I got into it was because it's fun. And I don't have to market my work or deal personally with buyers of my images. It's not for everyone, but I have no regrets at this stage.
I subscribe to a guy who's been doing stock for 16 years who gives educational videos on the topic. He pulls in over 2k each month just with Adobe. There's always money to be made.

Nice shot of that VW. I like the upward angle.
Also, first time I've ever seen an actual quicksand warning sign!

Hopefully you got some photos of the demolition and repairs. Could be interesting if they would sell.
I did get a few but the lighting was poor and my stress levels were high 🙂
Hi.
Thanks for sharing.
Have you heard of picfair?
Thank you. I've heard of it but don't upload to it at this stage.
Very good result Andrew. Enjoyed watching as always :)
Thqnks very much Aleksandra. Happy sailing!

Ha! yes, very predictable those sales. Congrats with the high selling SS day. May they keep rolling in, like a northern gannet... trapped in plastic!
Finally pulling the trigger, and about to start uploading to these companies. Your videos are a goldmine of info & expectations, thank you!
Thanks for getting in touch with this exciting news. Good luck and enjoy yourself!
Thanks Andrew!

well done Patrick. Also with depositphotos!
Hmm why hadn’t the sign sunk into the sand?
Ha, good question. They probably replace them every few hours. And also have to replace the crews who put them in too ;-).

Do you upload the same pictures/videos to different stocks?
yes, in most cases. I'm a non-exclusive contributor.
@@andrewbalcombe1338Thank you for the answer.
Did you try any NFT sales? Is that profitable more than stock photography?
I haven't experience with NFTs at this stage.
