Remember all those books you read as a kid with all the wonders of the world...the vast oceans, incredible wildlife, far off lands and exotic places. Well instead of seeing them in the pages of a book, our daughter Sierra has been lucky enough to witness all of these things with her own eyes. Raising a young child at sea has been by far the greatest, most challenging, and most rewarding chapter of this 10+year journey around the world. And in this week's episode, we get to share in some of the wonder that Sierra feels as we explore a wild and truly untouched paradise. Sierra gets her first pet, we get attacked by an octopus, we have one of our coolest ever underwater experiences EVER, and lots more!...so grab a cold one, kick back, and join us for this unforgettable time we spent alone on a speck of an atoll in the middle of the Pacific Ocean.

I have been enjoying your videos for years. I am concerned regarding your sponsorship with Better help. They have sold personal information of people potentially at their lowest and were fined. I wanted to pass this along so you can make your own decisions. Don’t believe me review this. www.ftc.gov/news-events/news/press-releases/2023/03/ftc-ban-betterhelp-revealing-consumers-data-including-sensitive-mental-health-information-facebook
Hey Brian, can you bring back Ramukanji and Max Noremo's sountracks? We love those !!!!
brian i suspect the line to circle is feeding like whales will there coralling a group of krill to concentrate a mouthfull.
Sierra, the Marine Biologist!
It's inevitable.
I have never comprehended the notion expressed by individuals who assert the necessity for additional solitary time apart from their own children and partners. In my observation, this sentiment is predominantly voiced by women. Approximately 9 out of 10 are women. Does this phenomenon suggest a higher propensity for this kind of mental illness among women compared to men? Fortunately, such occurrences are infrequent, even among women. I am intrigued by the underlying implications. Do these women harbor discontentment with their current responsibilities and yearn for alternative circumstances? This sentiment seems to resonate with the allure of blue-water sailing, where individuals find solace away from at least their domestic environment. Among the multitude of sailing channels, only a scant few, are devoid of such women, amidst a total of 450. Does the vast expanse of the ocean serve as a magnet for those seeking escapism or exhibiting eccentric tendencies?
Grew up in Iowa and honestly. Sierra is having a farm kid childhood just with different animals and fauna. Best childhood ever. Wouldn't trade it for the world.
So, I'm in cancer treatment now and really struggling w/ energy & activity. Videos like this 'save me' from abject depression.
Sierra will probably not remember any part of her 1st four years, but she will begin 'long-term storage' soon. What a cool life she's experienced so far. She's grown so much.
The manta rays are definitely one of my faves, too, Kazza!!! They get so large, yet move so effortlessly & elegantly. I don't think I've ever felt nervous around them? It's too fascinating, I think.
Love the video and the body of videos created. What a gift in a stressful world. Your stress (just as serious/important as anyone else's) is just different than anyone I know!
Here in New England, the snow lay thick but we are approaching a turning point for: daylight, the sun's path & the cycle of life anew. I'm all aboard recovery as Spring springs!
Ever read fenbendazol for cancer treatment? God bless and hope you win the battle!
Happy healing @D GULL01!❤
Stay strong mate! Positive mental outlook is a powerful healing tool my friend.
@@HHGOBLIN Thank you for keeping it upbeat!!! I genuinely appreciate it!
All the best of healing to you DCGULL01!
best school in the world
So amazing to see how you raise Sierra at sea, it really is a magical life! Thank you again so much for supporting our work, the animalitos of Bahia Concepcion say thank you too! Woof! ❤️🐶
No words. U are the luckiest people on earth. Thank you for sharing your beautiful life experience. Sierra is adorable.
I don't think they're the luckiest people on earth. He started, and they created this lifestyle together. They are probably the bravest one to show the world that it is possible. I thank them for this, I am ready to buy my boat in a couple of months to start my journey.
@@mesmes1958456456 I agree it's not luck but a creation
I would do it in a heartbeat if I were in the financial position to do so. Regardless, they are blessed to have followed their dreams.
You guys amaze me filming your lives as you do.....What a wonderful environment you are providing Sierra...
If Brian ever meets Keith from Sailing Zatara, I bet they could talk boat maintenance for hours!!!
What an amazing adventure for you and your precious daughter, Sierra. Learning hands-on at its best! The female octopus dies slowly after her eggs hatch. While guarding those eggs she does not hunt or eat. They are amazing creatures and bond with humans.
Thank you for showing me that.
A couple can be happy together again.
I just checked out Vet Tails’ Sailing Chuffed UA-cam channel for the first time and Dr. Sheddy mentioned how much she appreciates you sponsoring one of her projects. WELL DONE Brian, Kazza and Sierra!
This isolation series is great. I think the idea of solitude is really interesting - what it can do both for us and to us. I'm really enjoying Brian's storytelling skills here. Haven't watched Delos for years but these latest ones got me to dive back in.
Delos content may have changed over the years (marriage, family etc) but its still an amazing channel with top-notch super interesting videos. You've missed out if you skipped them.
All the Delos videos are available online, so you should be able to catch up from where you left off. Better still, do what I'm currently doing and starting from the first episode. I'm currently up to episode 73, where they are in the Andaman islands. I'm watching one or two episodes per day. Things are definitely different, without Brady onboard. What I find very interesting, is the difference in Brian and Kazza, since Sierra was born. We are not getting enough 'Breathing Underwater', as we did when Brady was part of the crew. Shame, but the World chances and so has Delos.
"I really hope she remembers this" - such a Dad thing to say! Fortunately you have lots of video for her to see as she gets older, which will help the memories stick around.
I just thought, its going to be very cool for your daughter in the future because she will be able to access all these incredible videos. This will be such a source of comfort, even after you're gone. Like home movies, except better!
God bless you and your family. You guys are doing so good for Sierra and her future. She is very lucky to have you as parents and the opportunity to be part of your journey. It’s amazing and anyone would love to have that. Stay well and keep up the great content!!
No Hollywood producer could ever match the quality of your real life adventure. Thanks for who you are and what you do.
Brian your voice is so soothing that it puts me to sleep when I watch your videos.
I know, right? I often think of his voice when I'm having a hard time getting to sleep.
I said it when Sierra was first born. She's going to have lessons and experiences that no school could ever provide. She's blessed to have you all as parents!
Life through the eyes of a 4year old...."Calm down Daddy".Fantastic.
Sierra is having an amazing childhood and learning so much!
Sierra has two of the coolest parents on the planet for sure! She is learning life skills on an exponential plane. I'm sure she teaches her parents just as much.
I've supported Dr Sheddy for many years. And her Aluminum boat. Chuffs to you.
The cinematography is reaching NatGeo levels!
ps: I discovered you guys only a week ago, and I became an instant fan. I think I watched like 40 episodes already. :)
This is the best, you guys lived outside all the stupidity of our culture for the past decade, and that alone is a huge inspiration.
Thanks for the ride!
Funderar varför inte har fler som följer er! Ni är magiska och har så varit alla dessa år! Har fått mig intresserad av segling och äger inte ens en båt! Fortsätt ert fina arbete ni är fantastiska ❤️
She’s not a baby anymore. Sierra is a little girl/ young woman. So many wonderful opportunities and experiences she is fortunate having you folks as parents. Cheers
I just love how you all are such a "tight" family unit.
My weekly dose of Wild Animals; Wildlife and a your very own 'Wild Child'. My childhood was a little bit like that, but nowhere near as much fun as Sierra's life is, exploring deserted islands in the middle of nowhere. Lucky girl. Fair Winds.
Sierra , truly has hit the jack pot in her early life , The best classroom in the world , hands on is way better than any books ., or stuck inside 4 walls for 8 hours a day 5 days a week ..Her teachers are the best and the fact that they are her Parents , make Sierra's life so much more amazing . I enjoy your episodes and like Sierra , I learn heaps . Love being one of the most valuable lessons in life . Bob from Australia .
It dawned on me as I was listening to Brian talk about Ciaras' unique childhood. This UA-cam channel is like the old school home movies, laying around on VHS tapes.
One of your very best videos, yet, you guys! Thank you!
Not enough thank yous and let you know that your videos make me forget all the rudeness and ugly there is in today's World. You awaken the wonderful feeling of awe and beauty that this gorgeous Planet Earth has to offer and also the wonderful feeling of LOVE that permeates in a family. Thank you and may you have a blessed and adventorous 2024! 🎉❤🎉
Pretty special, Epic memories
Good first pet! In elementary school we had class pets and in third grade we had five hermit crabs! Students could volunteer to keep them over the weekends. That is the only thing I remember about them until seeing them in the wild on a beach in the Caribbean, and then realizing how fun it was to have the same animal in an aquarium in the middle of the Rocky Mountains.
I love how you keep upping your game! Upping your life. Of all of the epic episodes, this is of the most epic. Sierra is amazing, experiencing the best life ever, as are her parents… and the tribe! You guys are all a global treasure! Modern world Jacques Cousteau family! I feel completely honored that I got to rub Kaza’s belly with Sierra in there in New York City on your honeymoon. Cheers to all! Fair winds and calm seas… and sometimes rough seas, because they’re kind of fun sometimes too.
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE DARLING SIERRA'S WOO HOO! IT MAKES MY DAY! 💖💖💖
I absolutely love your videos. I've been watching for years. Love sitting in bed and dreaming of your life. Hopefully one day! If you ever do a learn to sail camp & experience the living on a boat life , I'm so there !!
Fabulous. Just when we thought it couldn't get any better, you lay this on us. I hope our budding zoologist has a good experience with her pet crab, and I cannot believe I just wrote pet crab.
I can’t think of a better education for Sierra than experiencing the raw, natural world first hand. So happy you guys had such incredible wildlife encounters! ❤❤❤
I love how you encourage your daughter to explore and to be curious allowing her to explore through touch and play and giving her the space to test limits she’s going to be such a independent, fearless ,thoughtful human and that’s awesome !
out of all your videos over the years. This has to be in my top five. Smile on my face for 20 minutes watching the little one with the animals and first pet. I have a 21 and 11-year-old both boys and oh how I wish they were that age again. “Right here” 😂 thank you for sharing. Take care be safe 💚
Oh wow we are so glad you enjoyed this one, top 5 that's no small claim! We really loved this one too :) Thanks for your support as always Robert, and we're so stoked to have you along on the journey with us 🐙
These seem like the happiest moments of life right here. So so beautiful
Kazza: "Sierra, where does things go when they die?"
Sierra: "Right here."
Hahahahahahahahahaha so good
@trevorsmith7753 How stupid are you for saying this? You expect a 4yo child to know this?
Have a laugh and stfu, geez
@trevorsmith7753 Stupid reply? NO! Perfectly logical reply. She sees a dead thing in front of her and says, well, it's right here. The body will indeed rot and recycle, that can be observed, but your idea of a soul is fantastical invention with no observable evidence. And..... we are talking about the soul of an octopus??????
@trevorsmith7753 your "soul" goes to the same place it was before you were born.
@trevorsmith7753 She's 4 dude, are you saying that child is stupid? You must be mentally challenged yourself if you're competing with toddlers.
That aside, your mix of the judeo-christian heaven concept and reincarnation are very intriguing. Are you spiritual generally or subscribed to an organized religion?
@trevorsmith7753 Stupid questions? What's a soul? What is heaven, and where is it?
The life experiences you are providing for Sierra cannot be more precious and life altering. She is being introduced to a vanishing world of wild nature. Cherish every moment.
Sierra is having the best life living with nature, experiencing it, learning about it, and of course, enjoying it. You as parents are also having the best life, because you get to share this groovy life with your daughter.
Woohoo! Great video and wow so cool with the Rays!
There are no words to describe the fabulous world you take us to. Thank you thank you for taking us along.
Lady Seaira is a very amazing little angel ... we love her too!
You guys are the luckiest people in the world. Well done, enjoy every second.
I’m so envious of you. That is my dream…to be away from the human race and just enjoying my surroundings. Thanks guys…it’s been wonderful to watch. From cold, pre spring Toronto…enjoy!
Can we please get an update from Sierra on her new pet next video? Great editing Tay, loved the “she said” captions!
I’m taking ACT therapy for chronic pain, self compassion for 2024. Love Sierra naming her pet. My daughter named her Barbie “curling iron eco” 😅 oh that mantra show !! 🇨🇦 ❤
WOW !!!! First class video work you guys. Those Mantas.....I have no words that do it justice.
What a wonderful, nature filled video. Thank you for helping Vet Tails - seems like they are doing great veterinary services to remote villages.
Thanks for sharing your corner of paradise. Refreshing. And Brian, working with hand tools makes you a 21st century renaissance man.
been landlocked my whole life. never had real seafood. I hope to visit the ocean and get to experience what the delos crew does one day.
Sierra is a star!!!!
Makes for a well centered well adjusted jealthy minded kid ..shes very very lucky ....love ya work guyes been watchen since 2015
Beautiful video ❤️ Thank you ✔️
"Land, ho!!! Arrrrgh!" OMG!!!! So adorable!!!
I can't wait to hear the stories I hope Sierra is going to tell years from now.
Wow guys!! Filming quality, content, and editing are on point!!!! Loved this episode.
Out there, alone together, life stunningly and abundantly present, educating Sierra through her own curiosity, and working hard to share it with all. Thank you!
Another beautiful video from the Delos family, I only got around to it Saturday afternoon because yesterday I was distracted by a visitor and a bottle of Jack! Needless to say I am confined to the couch this afternoon to enjoy such indulgence as catching up on stuff. Great video guys, Sierra is living the life, that's for sure, lucky girl. I might have a quick snifter before doing the laundry.
What a wonderful episode guys. I’m sure you recognise what a privileged life you lead but I want to thank you for the joy your videos give to us, your audience. Thank you, and please don’t stop. 🙏
Amazing animals in such a remote area, fantastic to see the footage in this video. Sierra would probably be a great marine biologist.
SV Delos. Original and Authentic. Thank you.
blood pressure lowered and happy on face. Thanks Delos, for my weekly medicine!
Beautiful family life abroad she will have seen the world b4 she even graduates grammar school how cool ❤
I truly appreciate how you, Brian, can seem to be able to, not only fix almost everything on your boat but anticipate what may need to be done to avoid having to fix things before they break. I've been watching your voyage from the beginning along with a few other channels and while I can appreciate your ingenuity, some of the sailors have me wondering how they've managed to stay afloat. 🤔😳
It's incredible to me to see all that Brian has to know/knows for this lifestyle. That alone is needed it seems.
Your videos are getting better and better….it’s like watching a pbs or bbc doc. Safe travels!👍
This was a beautiful episode.
I got chills from the manta scene. Beautiful shots of a beautiful moment
WOOT with no friends.. we just love our kis.
and this video is a great example of how this channel helped me through the pandemic...starting at episode 180 or something. Love you guys and all you do!
Loved this episode, all the critters big and small. The mantas were amazing for me to see and their feeding behavior…so very cool. Sierra is killing it, damn is she funny. Thanks guys, cheers and fair winds
Fantastic video. Hated for it to end. Sierra is truly living a magical childhood. ♥
What a fantastic adventure. I hope that you will still be sailing together when Sierra gets older and can really remember the time and all the encounters. It is an amazing classroom you are giving her.
My new year resolution is to get my ASA 101 & 103. Working towards goal of sailing in 2yrs
Great video, what a place , best wishes from Westernport, Victoria Australia 😊
Hello Brian, Kazza and little Sierra !!! Another magical Vlog. Man, I bet that was hard to leave that mooring. Can’t really was magical. Sierra is getting such an education. I hope she remembers some of this. At least you’ll have the videos to go through. Looking forward to the next video. Stay safe and fair winds at your back. Sending love from LIZ in California⛵️🌴💜🐬🇺🇸
It's so soothing watching you do your family thing, your way, and sharing it with the world. Seeing a wholesome family present it so positively, with the challenges and all, is a breath of fresh air in the world today. Wish you protection and many blessing and just know what a blessing you are.
Delos Crew, your content is always so refreshing .... it's a good escape from daily live. Love you guys.... keep up the good work. Greetings from Bosnia & Herzegovina.
Best start of the weekend!
Dear Brian, I have watched you replace these bearings more times than I want to admit, that being said if you don't mind I have a suggestion when you are able order some Lucas red and tacky grease then remove the seal off of the bearings and force as much grease into the bearings as possible then reinstall the seal, trust me it will double the life of the bearings. I do this all the time and it works. New bearings have very little grease and it is low grade at that. You will be surprised.
SO AWESOME Delos crew.. Thank you for taking us all along...
Education of The Nugget …. Wonderful 👏👏
Please give More.
Thanks
Such a fantastic upbringing you are providing for Sierra, well done
Thanks!
I have been watching your videos for a few years as well as some of the older videos. In my opinion, this is the best video you have made.
Hi Guys. You are so lucky. Sierra is so sweet. I remeber when my daughter was that young. She was quiet and not so outgoing. She is thirty now and I remember how good it felt when she took in things that happened. Thank you for refreshing those memories which mean so much.
This show is amazing and I don’t take it for granted
Brian & Kazza, thanks for sharing your amazing adventurè. Sierra is so fortunate to grow up with so much nature. You guys rock!❤❤❤
Top notch on the hermet crab footage. Depth of field was spectacular. Well done.
That's cool you sponsor someone making a difference!
once again, a unique and lovely video as always! thank you all, sierra, kazza, brian. (love from istanbul)
Foxes leave prints in a line like that, and some cats. Awesome episode, guys!
You guys are amazing!!
The education Sierra is getting is unbelievable. Thank you for sharing. Have a great day and stay safe.🙂🙂
Great episode guys, and I got to see Brian fix something! perfect
Your photography is beautiful! Thank you!
