You’re the first video that explained this not only correctly but in a manner that everyone could understand and you kept in under 7 minutes… thank you
This is a common system in rpg's and I think a lot of people take it for granted that everyone is at least mildly familiar with it. And that’s definitely not true
S tier doesnt always give you the most damage. I went from a S tier to a B tier in str and dex. My weapon ended up doing more damage. Keep in mind that i had 99 Str and Dex.
@Freedom1775 S is the highest tier but not every weapon goes up to S tier. The best way to figure out the highest dmg output is to google the weapon you plan on using. Even though, most weapons will do enough dmg to best any boss.
People underestimate how much leveling your weapon helps early game. For every 5 levels you give your character you should give your weapon at least one.
So if I have a somber stone weapon , I have to get to 100 to level 10 it ? :P The speed you can level weapons is slower early then much faster late game , what you say is absolutely correct , early game levels matter most
@@soroushkowsarian3364 I know I'm abit late. How leveling special weapons(somber smithing stones) You use 1 of each number (+1,+2,+3 etc then you need something called a somber ancient dragon smithing stone , there are only 8 per playthrough requiring NG+ to get more

I thing i feel people never bring up is that there are multiple wet stones that will allow you to add any affinity you want on every ash of war. For example, with the black wet stone, you can turn every ash of war into occult affinity, giving the weapon bleed and S scaling in arcane. There is a stone for every affinity type, so if you collect them all, you can literally make any weapon any affinity you want with any ash of war you want. Certain weapons perform stronger with certain affinities, but the option is yours.
Love the way you made this quick and very easy to understand, I’ve been trying to explain to a friend how the scaling works and you put it together so easy to understand 🔥🤣
Good intro for beginners but there's quite a bit omitted about the nuance of base damage VS scaling. Long story short, some weapons are good for low level cause base damage is high and scaling is low. Some high scaling weapons aren't great at low levels because the base damage tends to be low and they expect crazy high levels to reap benefits. So often weapons with d/e scaling can outperform A/B scaling if you haven't speced much into that stat. Next lesson, so at what point does a high base damage weapon with low scaling start to lose to a high scaling low base damage weapon? Depends, but this is where soft caps and stat tables come in.
Hey! Im looking for those stat tables and caps are that you are talking about, is there any easy way to find them? The wiki only has an extremely vague description for the soft caps, and no description for the effects of the actual letter grades themselves. Im looking for info along the lines of S scaling being 1.5x your strength, with soft cap info being like every strength point past 40 is worth 0.7x and past 60 is 0.2x etc, really hoping that info exists somewhere. (Note, numbers in this example are completely made up, as I am looking for information that would give those numbers)
@@Reece8u Easiest is just equip the weapon you want, and as you put puts into an attribute, track how much damage jumps. In Souls games, 40 the general soft cap, but Elden Ring seems to be around 60. You also need 60 in an attribute for some high end weapons anyway, like 60 int for the best magic staff, and 60 str for the big hammer. Beyond 60, the gains are still there, but very slow. So get int to 60 for example, and then work on other stats. Only go over 60 when your other stats are good.

You get more bang for your buck investing in health, stamina, poise, (to some extent) FP than chasing damage cap on A/S scaling ASAP.
