Fun fact about Sailor Mouth! According to Tom Kenny, the voice of SpongeBob himself, when they recorded that episode, they actually swore in character and had it just edited over with the dolphin noises. So somewhere deep in nickelodeon's vault, there's an uncensored recording of them all cussing in character and it's absolutely without a doubt the most hilarious thing none of us will be able to hear.
i mean tom kenny during an interview about how he got his role he swore quite a bit with his spongebob voice. so did doug lawrence and his plankton voice. and do i need to say anything about clancy brown? he probably felt the most at home swearing.
You know, an uncensored tape of the Sailor Mouth episode does exist somewhere. There's no indication where it is, but it was confirmed to exist by staff members.
I can confirm this. I've seen it but I don't remember where but I remember 1 of the actors saying the script said adlib swearing and they asked if they could just actually swear and just bleep it out since it'd be easier
Missing Avatar moment: While crew is camping for the night, Zuko needs to have a conversation with Sokka. He heads over to Sokka tent but bumps into Suki who is headed there as well, she plays off the moment and walks away. Zuko walks into Sokka tent which is decorated for a Romantic evening and Sokka is in middle of floor in a "Hello Suki😘" position. A shocked Sokka sees Zuko and switches to "what's up bro mode 😤" Sokka definitely had long term plans for the evening 😏 before Zuko unknowingly cock blocked him
@brare45996 it’s a kid’s show, so it’s not canon per se, but a lot points to it being the case. When Zuko comes into his tent, he has candles lit, a flower in his mouth, and begins to seductively say “hello Suki”. After his conversation with Zuko, Zuko leaves and runs into Suki, who is secretively heading to Sokka’s tent. Sokka sticks his head out looking for her, and she goes in, and they giggle for a moment. The next day, Sokka comes out of the tent with a flower necklace (a lei, which is pronounced “lay”). Which is to say, he got “lei’d” (pronounced “laid”) by Suki. All of what I just described IS canon, but technically the adult stuff is not. You can see what was going on though.
@brare45996 they were both canonically 15 (at least when the show starts, it is unclear if anyone has a birthday during the series’ events), and if you’ve been to public high school in the US, that doesn’t seem too off the mark.
SpongeBob: Hey Patrick, your genius is showing.🙂 Patrick: Gasp, where?!😨 Uhhhhh yeah, even the 2000s nickelodeon cartoons aren't safe from Adult Jokes, I even remember Timmy gets a little uncomfortable when he sees Mrs.Turner in her swimsuit for a beauty pageant. It's like Timmy says, "No amount of therapy will ever make this life okay."😅
The funny thing about the sailor mouth episode is that Tom Kenny felt silly saying fake curse words so he’s actually cursing behind those dolphin noises and the only place it exists is on a recording locked within the vaults of Viacom
An adult joke is really an adult joke if kids do not get it. Like the whole Patrick’s genius is showing. I’m pretty sure any kid would get it. It’s just funny.
Honestly, the 2000's is my favorite Nickelodeon era! Danny Phantom and My Life As A Teenage Robot especially! Plus they hold some of the craziest jokes!
Missing form Invader Zim. Zim: *Hit by ball* "AHHhhhh! My squeedily spooch!" Dib: "Did you hear that Gaz? That's no human organ! Humans don't have squeedily spooches!" Gaz: "I've got a squeedily spooch." Dib: *Looks down.*
I'm pretty sure that the Dolphin noise SpongeBob used was the intended to be the f bomb. Just look at the various ways he uses the word. And I don't know any other swears this versatile. "Krabs is a [dolphin chirp]." "How [dolphin chirp] right you are, Patrick!" "Hey, Patrick, how the [dolphin chirp] are ya?" "Woo! Wow! Oh! Ow! My [dolphin chirps] foot! What [dolphin chirps] genius put a [dolphin chirps] rock in a [dolphin chirps] path?!"
Their had been some of other Teenage Robot jokes that have been missed, the Fanny pack scene, robot dont take baths, Jenny beating up a sausage in her dream mode, Sheldon helping vexus go through the window and Vexus giving off an unusual position on Sheldon, etc. Their has been a good chunk of Teenage Robot jokes that were missed
I never watched Teenage Robot but even I thought it was weird that a show about a robot girl going through adolescence would only have 1 joke mentioned.
I think in that same episode, Sheldon was able to swipe Jenny's blueprints from Mrs. Wakeman, and we see through Vexus' POV him gushing over her supposed "access ports" in her schematics.
Jenny: “I’ll just download some upgrades off the internet-“ Dr. Wakeman: “XJ-9, NO! Don’t get on the internet! You’ll go blind!” I think it was supposed to be a warning about internet porn or something.
There's actually an uncensored version of the "Sailor Mouth" episode of spongebob because Tom Kenny convinced the rest of the cast that they might as well actually curse since it was going to be censored anyway. Also, scabies is the term for when people get mange.
Timmy: Don't ask why, but I have to stick this up dad's pants. Mom: Oh is it father's day already? Actually the whole episode: Vicky looses her Icky was awkward. Season 4 Episode 45 A
Honestly I'm a fan of adult humor. Sometimes it would be funny like on The Simpsons or early family guy or even some some of the jokes in the movie sausage party
19:17 this is even funnier in the hungarian version, where his name is translated to "Rák úr" (Mr.Crab), but if you rearranged the spaces you get "Rá kúr" which i can best translate as "fucked over"
Even though Disney has many adult jokes from their animated movies. Non-Disney companies like Nickelodeon, and DreamWorks are on another level when it comes to adult jokes.😲
I always thought farquad was compensating for his height since we saw he was short, then as an adult I learned about what people say is compensation with big things. It's a joke that works for both kids and adults.
I'm surprised. "I have to go number 3" wasn't mentioned in the back in the barnyard segment. I don't know why, but that always perplexed me, which makes me think it's a hidden joke
You missed this one joke of SpongeBob SquarePants where SpongeBob's mother says to his father in the middle of the night, "Let's have some fun." I don't exactly remember what SpongeBob's mother actually meant by that, but it wasn't something that would break Rule 34.
We're getting to a point where we're confusing the 90's era stuff with the two thousands era stuff. That said though it make sense. One of my friends is 35 and he goes off about Ren and stimpy all the time but being born in 92, SpongeBob and on had some of the wildest adult jokes I've seen. Cartoon network especially from the late 90's and on was insane.
Though the opportunity was missed to show it, my absolute favorite adult joke in Danny Phantom takes place in the episode "Splitting images", During the scene where Danny is attacked by the box ghost. The box ghost throws a box of play props for "My Fair Lady", dressing Danny in a female outfit (and might I say, his makeup skills are impeccable), to which Tucker cheers and replies "TAKE IT OFF!" In a suggestive manor. Me and my brother used to get in trouble for repeating it all the time when we were younger.
I love it invader Zim brings back so many wtf memories I think looking back what's more screwed up the fact invader Zim had so much screwed up stuff or it wasn't on nick at night or someone at nick said what's the worst thing that could happen let's approve season 2 I miss this show
You forgot about the infamous panty raid from the SpongeBob episode Mid Life Crustacean. That episode doesn't air anymore because of that scene. And the fact it was Mr. Krab's mother's panties, made it that much more disturbing.
Being blindfolded (if it's the right kind) is very therapeutic for me. As soon as I put it on it just puts a wave of calm over me and helps me sleep especially with my sleep paralysis. But of course I also use it for THAT- and it's often not the freakiest element of my set up.
Note for anyone wondering, The "The Breeze Tickles my Cha-Chas', "It's Hard to Keep Nits in your mouth when you're crying", "Crock Blocked" and that weird squierly scout arrested thing clips are from Season 9 (2012-2014) which technically isn't 2000's but it's likely here because the show itself started in 2001. And yes, I enjoyed Sparky, somehow
You said it wasn’t clear which swear the dolphin sound was standing in for, but there is one that fits every single one, although you might have to as -ed, or -ing on a few of them.
There's a whole Seinfeld episode about Elaine and "The Sponge" (a type of tampon that was no longer being produced). @19:24 So, the "SpongeBob being a reference to tampons" is possible. Great video, by the way! I really enjoyed it!
For sailors moutht the cast found it difficult to swear without swearing. So with the logic they are going to sensor it anyways, they asked if they could curse. The studio agreed and later released the uncensored episode later.
Interesting I never did see too much of that show so I have no idea what any if it is or this fan art either which gives me the impression it's something you look at in incognito
I didn't watch a ton of Invader Zim, but I would've included... DIB: Did you hear that, Gaz? That's no human organ. Humans don't have squeedely-spooches. GAZ: I've got a squeedley-spooch.
You missed the raciest one from The Fairly Oddparents. In one episode Timmy is trying to stealthily retrieve something his father has, so as his father sits in a diner Timmy remotely uses a snake-like device and runs it up his father's pants leg trying to reach his pocket. Timmy misses the pocket and it's implied that the probe accidentally goes... elsewhere... Mr. Turner gets a surprised but happy expression and cheerfully says, "Is it Tuesday again already?"
Back at the barnyard. You missed an absolutely dirty joke they didn't care to cover up. The outhouse has weird noises and they end when the weasel exits. They asked what he was doing in there and he answered number 4.
Lenver: I think we need new pair of ears after that Foxy: we all need a pair of ears after hearing all of that dump adult jokes in kids show universe Lever: ya what will they blast with jokes of the adult next (Garvey fats) Lenver: Garvey that not the kinda blast I meant Garvey: uh hehe
The magic tea in A:tLAB was a caffeine joke, not hard drugs. It's a common joke in many other movies and shows. Iron Giant, Futureama and Over the Hedge are just 3 other instances of this off the top of my head.
Fun fact about the spongebob sailor mouth episode: they actually said the words. The voice actors asked can they just say the word without trying to censor themselves so everyone was just in the booths cursing at eachother. Can find the video online. Also fun fact: Mr. Krab voice actor is also the voice for Leiutenant Hank Anderson in Detroit: Becoming Human
Fun Fact - There was an interview on YT with the creator of Spongebob saying they actually did say curse words under the dolphin sounds. They said it was easier to record them cursing then censoring it out than trying to replace those words with something else.
They didn't even try to hide or be clever, they straight had Sokka consume peyote right in front of our faces. We just didn't know what it was back then.
You forgot the part in Jimmy Neutron where Hugh teaches Goddard about the birds and the bees. "Boys are one thing, and girls are another. And then there's ducks.." His obsession with ducks goes a bit deeper than we realize..
Surprised you didn't mention the scene in Season 3 of Avatar where Zuko goes to Sokka's tent for advice and Sokka's clearly expecting Suki to come in for some "fun" together
Beating up a sausage in dream mode, fanny pack mishap, and some of the others. But if it's about that parody. Its not even canon, and it was a joke that was took too far and made even worse.

The magic tea in A:tLAB was a caffeine joke, not hard drugs. It's a common joke in many other movies and shows. Iron Giant, Futureama and Over the Hedge are just 3 other instances of this off the top of my head.
Jimmy and Timmy actually know each other so they really could exchange numbers

And then there's ducks.."
His obsession with ducks goes a bit deeper than we realize..
Spongebob sure did have lots of hidden dirty jokes 😂

Surprised you didn't mention the scene in Season 3 of Avatar where Zuko goes to Sokka's tent for advice and Sokka's clearly expecting Suki to come in for some "fun" together
Don't even get me started on My life as a teenage robot💀
Beating up a sausage in dream mode, fanny pack mishap, and some of the others. But if it's about that parody. Its not even canon, and it was a joke that was took too far and made even worse.
I meant the actual show but yea
Ah okay
zarbon would have a field day with all the nuts jokes in that one episode of fairy odd parents
