I love that the monster scream is literally the same stock sound effect as the dragons in Warcraft 2 and the dogs in the original Resident Evil intro. It's what you use when you can't be bothered to spend any time or effort, so you just grab the generic monster sound from the free effects CD that came with your recording equipment.
This game has taught me that Medieval Spain was a death-world of giant killer moles, swarms of ravenous earthworms, and killer flowers. Like a slightly less dangerous Australia.
The player cut out the part where you navigate the Labyrinth, and sadly we were deprived of one of the most poignant bits of character development for Don Quixote as he battles his dementia and dealing with the fact that the knight's role in society has diminished.
This game required the Sega addon and was actually stored on a LaserDisc ROM (a format I didn't even knew existed), so this is exactly what would happen if the Sega CD used LaserDisc instead.
And they had to fit this epic onto a ~540MB LD-ROM whereas on Sega CD they would've had about 640MB of space. My only guess as to why a huge disc only fit 540MB is because it was an analog format (that's like asking how many MB fit on a VHS tape) whereas CDs are digital.
I'm gonna be completely honesty, I'm kind of enjoying this. Like I have a thing for traditional cel animation, but it's more that everything is just so weird, I want to see more of the game.

Well the enemies are real in all their 2D animesque glory, yet the scenary looks like a purple version of a black hole, so maybe they're not real...? Boy, at least this "game" gets the confusion part seen in the real story right.

Especially when you compare this to Sega CD games of the same era... sans Snatcher, of course. Because Snatcher is the best experience anybody can have in this life or any other. I'm just saying if I had a choice between sex, or Snatcher... I'd probably try to convince my girlfriend to do both at the same time because I can't un-quantify those two things from each other.
Evil wolf's death noise sounds like MK3 Motaro getting hurt, the tail design is somewhat similar as well... I smell some plagiarism, from Midway, obviously.
