I braid my hair in small plaits, then, cut a couple of inches off the ends. I’m a burn victim and don’t like heat too much. When I go to the shop, once or twice a year, my ends usually aren’t in bad shape.
Considering your situation I believe if this works best for you that's great! But also remember with this method you could be cutting off perfectly healthy hair
My hair always brow uneven. Every time some cuts it even it do it again 🤣. I have told stylist to stop cutting my hair even so cut the dead broken ends off. When I was relaxed and natural my hair just grow faster on side.
🔥 Wow, you dropped some knowledge in this clip! I always thought that heat was bad for natural hair. Thanks for the tip about blow dry to check for split ends. ❤
🔥 Ok, I blow dried my hair for the first time in 2 months after my trim and can see the breakage / thinning right in the back just like the girl in this video. Omg thanks again for this tip.

How do you prevent permanent straight pieces in the hair? I use heat protection, low heat, and never use a flat iron. However, I always have pieces of hair that never revert back to the curly form. This has discouraged me from blowing out my hair or going to a stylist. And if a flat iron is necessary, what temp should I use?
Facts, I agree....people need to hear this more often...you can use a vlow dryer once a year and still have damaged hair. People need to get off this oh don't ever use heat business. It's all trial and error. I'm gonna cut off all my damaged/ split ends and hopefully get my hair back healthy and start deep conditioning it every 2 weeks.
I always recommend alternating between stretched styles and shrunken styles. The tighter the texture, the more often you should blow dry. I personally blow dry my hair once a week when it’s out
if you do your wash day only like 2xs a month then yeah that’s a reasonable amount. but if it’s more than that then i wouldn’t since heat damage is still possible

So I'm scared to cause heat damage when blow drying my hair. Is there a safe way to blow dry regularly to check for split ends and provent heat damage?
I blow dry my thick long hair and never had heat damage. Our care and take a lot compared to other hair types. I retain length my keeping my hair stretched out.
Girl, get a Revair. There is ZERO manipulation while using it and the heat is a gentle heat but it stretches the hair like no other. I'm natural 4b hair from the motherland and it gets my hair straight.
If you can't afford a $300 blow dryer, buy a Silver bird, by conair. Use a wide tooth comb and leave in, and detangle from the ends up. Keep a spray bottle full of water around to keep your hair from drying out. Section your hair in four sections with clips. Now take one section and section it in half, and clip the rest away. Detangle, and blow dry on warm, not high heat. If you hit a tangle stop, wet the hair again detangle, now blow dry, without pulling. NEVER pull, let the heat do its job. The ends will dry first, so hit the hair at the root with warm high setting, and hit the cool shot button mid lenth to the ends. The cool shot, or your dryer on a cool setting, will close the cuticle and help remove tangles at the same time without damaging your hair.
It helps to use a heat protectant when using any kind of heat styling tools...anytime you curl or flatiron your hair, use a heat protectant. Anytime you use a hand-held dryer or sit under a hooded dryer, use a heat protectant.
@@kammybambii it doesn’t mean they need to wash their hair better. they may just need to use dandruff shampoo. or see a doctor/gp if there is discomfort. i had the same issue and no matter how clean my head was there would always be flakes. they’re gone now because of ^ the above suggestions.
I think that is the best way to stretch it for a trim. Thats what I do too. To tell people to blow dry their natural hair straight just to trim it doesn't seem right to me.
You are using too much heat and probably are pulling. Detangle with a wide tooth comb, and section the hair into 6-8 sections, use a comb attachment and do not pull, use warm to cool heat setting. If you run into a tangle stop, wet the hair with a water bottle detangle then blow dry with pulling on warm heat, use the cool shot button or a cool setting from mid shaft to the ends. Once that section is dry, platt it up, and move on to the next section, remember never pull and use a warm and cool settings on your blow dryer.

This is how I'm wearing my hair now. Kinky straight. Just blow dry and go. I feel like my hair looks healthy and full.

My hairdresser said this method creates holes in your overall hair because it’s not accurate.

Hey, Do you have a blow dryer recommendation for fine natural hair?
What do you put on the hair before blow drying?

Yes, i balance blow drying with heat(not too much) and blow drying on cool.
Where are you located? I’m trying to start wearing my natural hair more.
So, did she have to cut her hair off? How much had to go? What was the fix? So many questions lol.
This is why I want to go to a pro one day if I don't have my sister do it (she went to cosmetology school).

You got this friend 👏🏽
Very very true, its user error. You cannot crank up the heat on unprepared hair and not expect damage at some point.
Subbed ❤ 🔥
How can I reverse breakages? I have been having this problem all my life !!
You can't. You use a moisturizing deep conditioner and a protein treatment, incorporate better hair habits, and cut it off once your hair grows out.
How do you maintain a blow out?
can you blow dry hair with product in it
Kudos to u,
But does blow drying denature the natural hair?
No, as long as it is not on high heat, and you do not pull as you are blow drying. Also use the cool shot button, mid shaft to the ends.
How often would you recommend we blow dry?
I always recommend alternating between stretched styles and shrunken styles. The tighter the texture, the more often you should blow dry. I personally blow dry my hair once a week when it’s out

My hair actually breaks when I don't blow dry.. I get fairy knots and everything.
Same I get knots and it's hard to comb out. Gonna start wearing it blown out for a while

I’m too broke to go professional and idk how tf to deal with it myself
Go to your local hair school. They usually charge $15 for a wash and blow dry. I go once a month to let them wash and blow dry my afro.
Just say you’re scissor happy😂

So I'm scared to cause heat damage when blow drying my hair. Is there a safe way to blow dry regularly to check for split ends and provent heat damage?
I switched to a round brush blow dryer and i use it every week and a half (every wash day) and i dont have any damage!
I blow dry my thick long hair and never had heat damage. Our care and take a lot compared to other hair types. I retain length my keeping my hair stretched out.

Probably from heat damage. Certainly the hair back there is not getting as much love and affection as the visible portions.
Could also be hydral fatigue . This can happen when leaving the hair wet or damp.
Ok ma’am I am going to blow dry my hair
Don’t Agree. Her hair looks completely fine. It is not broken off. Just needs a baby trim.
I stretched my hair without heat
I think that is the best way to stretch it for a trim. Thats what I do too. To tell people to blow dry their natural hair straight just to trim it doesn't seem right to me.
She’s correct, a curly cut for bw is a lie
Whenever I blowdry my hair it gets damage and I had to cut my hair off again :(
Same i never blow dry now i js wear my hair curly
Whenever you blow dry your hair you have to put heat protectant on your hair then blow dry.
Look into getting a Revair.
Heat protection isn’t going to stop your hair from getting damaged by heat
