Very unique property. I love it, although I’m not sure I would live at such a high elevation, either. But the property and the land and outbuildings are spectacular. Did I miss something, though, because I didn’t see a laundry room?

Really enjoyed this tour - an unusual but well-loved property with very civilized living. Probably less family-oriented, more suited to adult living, with those outbuildings. I think the upstairs kitchen could use a remodel in years to come, but - loved it.

Hey, Mike! I've watched many of your videos and the ones with properties up Kaloko, you refer to that area as a 'rainforest' which is technically correct but the term 'cloud forest' is more accurate. A cloud forest is a type of rainforest but is much more rare. Cloud forests tend to be cooler and have a distinct type of flora and fauna compared to rainforests. Thanks for all of the great videos!

Wow adorable!(I do hope there is a laundry room) I would love to explore the surrounding grounds. Are there possibly hiking trails already established?

They need to bring some mainland builders to Hawaii. These multi-million dollar homes miss on so many levels and it seems to be a constant theme. Maybe it's the building codes and/or restrictions, I don't know

Lots of potential. Would you be allowed to clear some of the land?

I have a serious question. Why are the layouts in these houses so odd? I have been looking at propeeties for years and I just cannot understand why these types of homes in these types of locations have such bizarre layouts. What is going on here? What is the thought process? Why is it so difficult to find an island home with a typical front yard, an obvious front door with a normal entryway, a good kitchen and a realisticand practical layout and living spaces? Why does everything look so cobbled together and done as if it was an afterthought? This is not just Hawaii, it is also Big Bear, Central Coast... I just cannot

so I'll say this- we have a lot of the homes that have traditional layouts. I'll have another one dropping tomorrow. But some people build a house for flexibility down the line. Here, that typically means a living area upstairs, leaving the option to build something later downstairs.

It definitely has a cabin feel with a multitude of smaller rooms. The thought is smaller rooms require less energy to heat. A Lego house.

I would say that on the Big Island, which Mike covers, the Hales are built on the slopes of extinct & long dormant volcanoes and thus have fantastic ocean views which the architects like to focus on. The front of said properties tend to be smaller in usable area so parking tends to dominate the flatter regions (Hawai'i is notorious for extended family living; the Ewa Beach neighborhood I lived in for 8 years had near 100% Front Yards masquarading as Parking Lots in many of the Hales.
