Actually you can still skip the painting go to the side not to far and then go behind the painting then when you are near a wall jump out glydon because if you continue it might hit the wall then wall jump or cappy dive jump then you skipped dark side without bowser Edit:when your gonna fly and get a boost make sure you go low

there’s another way to do a skip for darker side (this one skipping the entire thing) before u enter darker side u can capture a frog right next to the dino on the water and just slowly swim towards him getting lifted up as he bobs up and down and while trying not to walk on him. And then you can swim in the air and go all the way to where your normally supposed to end up after the darker side gauntlet and get the multi moon
Another way to get through the wall jump challange before you glide is to use 2 player, and have player 2 (Cappy) get off Mario's head, and while he is off Mario's head, have Mario get on the platform. It is a easier, and is better than trying to throw your hat on the top
After over 200 tries I finally beat darker side and went through all the levels and areas including the area with bowser and a bunch of rocks and got the last power moon and the only thing I need to do is collect all of the outfits and then I will have completely 100 percented this game
I didn't get enough glydon height and couldn't get to the bowser painting I slowly died to the lava without being able to get up. Edit: I beat it finally! Now to finish Mushroom Kingdom from 100%.

@@isobelmay4544 I haven’t played Odyssey in a while, but are you pressing forward on the joystick? I think that makes him glide quickly downward. You don’t need to use the joystick while gliding, just hold B.
2:26 you can actually go and skip everything in this section using the captures ability, there is a question mark block with a heart in it that you can jump onto and using that, by uncapturing and the peak of the jump from the block, and a easy cap wall jump up you can skip all the way to yoshi! there is also a bunch of coins up where you land!

You can actually still skip the bowser section. If you go out further right away from the lava area, you can still skip the bowser section and finish the level.
The only way which I was able to beat this level was using the Glydon skip - to the Bowser portrait (just barely getting there) + being in Assist Mode, so that I can slow down to recover health.

Hold down B to glide. When you get to the second whirlwind/tornado, dive down to a low part of the tornado. Right when Glydon gets into that tornado, begin shaking your controller vigorously. If you've gone low enough and you begin the shaking right when Glydon heads into that tornado, you should be shot really high up. From that point on, continue to hold down B and keep shaking your controller vigorously. Like very aggressive shaking. Do not use your controller in any other way if you can help it. However, you must go around the island that has the Bowser painting. Fly around it from the side. If you don't do that, Mario will automatically dismount from the Glydon as soon as he gets close to the island that has the Bowser portrait. Just ignore the Bowser painting part and fly around to the back of it until you reach the platform with the electric thing. You'll be losing some altitude but if you keep shaking your controller aggressively and don't use your joy stick to veer off to the left more than you have to, you should still have enough altitude left to safely reach the end. The game will try to psych you out into thinking that you've lost way too much altitude with the way the camera moves as you start to fly past the Bowser portrait
You might be too low, make sure you shake as soon as you hit the wind and keep shaking until you make it to the bowser section. If that doesnt work, let me know
5:18 i recomend when you fly high from the winds go to the side getting farther from the island and go behind the area with the bowser painting to use the electric wire behind bowsers painting
@@WinterSWW makes sense. I mean, of Darker side, the only hard part is the grey part through the pipe after the forks, so I see no need for the extra commitment
Nice strategy but you can skip the entire bowser section if you go high enough with glydon and around the invisible walls that force you out of glydon.
Does the glide technique still work? I’ve been trying all day and haven’t been successful :( wouldn’t let me get nearly as high up as he was in the video
Somehow it didnt force me out of Glydon. I went right over to the very end. Which was great for me, because iI only had 3 HP and that last sextion looked hairy.

This is a drift issue which is quite common in both pro-controllers and left joycons! If you haven't already there are severaly great tutorials for how to fix this in the pro controller (you do have to disassemble but it isn't really dangerous and it's surprisingly super easy to do both in dismantle and putting back together). If it's a joy con you just get a pair of tweezers and lift up the plastic "skirt" around the base of the joy stick (again there are UA-cam videos showing how) and spray some WD-40 in there! We platformer lovers deserver functional controllers!
2:25 on this part you can actually skip more by first finding the ? block and then stretch up and then uncapture, wall jump, then dive and boom! you just skipped the entire section of this
just in case you're still playing it, you can actually just do a ground pound and then do a regular cap throw immediately after and it will be a downward throw for some reason. Not sure if it was intentionally designed that way or just a lucky fluke I found one day, but that's how I do down throws since I can't do them consistently otherwise.
@@LemeraldSR Nice! I forgot about the controllers with no motion sensor. I looked in the moves list back when I was playing the game to see if this method was in there and I never found it (of course I could have just been blind), so it was almost like finding some hidden secret.
So, this trick can be a little complicated to get used to. Basically, with your joycons detached, move both of them downwards to perform a down throw. Then, shake the controllers, and if you spaced it correctly, happy should lock on to the capture and you will get the result I got
Originally, you weren't forced out of the Glydon and could actually skip right over the bowser portion as well.

There used to be a way to easily skip the final part simply by flying around it. I’m pretty sure that they patched it out.

Thank God for the Glydon high altitude glitch. Because of that stupid joy con drift, I can no longer get past the Pokio part.

bro i got so lucky near the bowser portrait. i was at 1hp and i used the two player jump and i beat the rest of the darker side!
The only way which I was able to beat this level was using the Glydon skip - to the Bowser portrait (just barely getting there) + being in Assist Mode, so that I can slow down to recover health.
ASSIST mode is for the weak

So I stopped playing for a while cause I couldn't beat the darker side, came back in a long time when I forgot how to cap jump, and beat it first try.
I stayed up all night playing Mario odyssey to defeat darker side and finally did it with ease
SO I do this, but I always fall out of the glydon, without pressing any buttons and never make it to the Bowser part. What do I do?

I did it in such a way that I ended up going even higher and going deeper into the stage, I went straight to the pipe after that.

You missed 1 skip at the start where going all the way to the top of the pillar is easier and also using Yoshi is easier too

You’re forced out of glydon and as such you cant

Step 1: have a controller that functions properly
The left joystick (?) is so overused that it over responds forward and doesn’t respond backwards.

At the rolling barrels whit 3 sizes i do:
Normal jump big-small,
Double jump small-normal and
Triple jump normal-big

The only reason to this I can think of is either you aren't shaking your controller, or you are too low to the ground.

I got used to the pattern for doing it the normal way, but honestly that way is probably more reliable anyway lol
